Charlize is visiting Tess in her room at the Manor
CT: “This room is gorgeous. It’s three times bigger than mine at Chimera. McMahon is a penny pincher. You have been there. It’s a dump”
Tess “I’m lucky the Wiz lets me to stay here and use Wiz International for the company plane; He’s a gem”
CT: “So you’re going to continue on harping about me retiring because you think that I am going to get badly hurt.”
Tess: “Yes. Look, your leg and hand speed are no way near what it used to be. There has been a significant deterioration in your power and your body, while it looks amazing, simply can’t take the punishment any more. You can’t keep up with the young good lightweights and most of the new welters are simply too big. You have already been carried out of the ring on a stretcher once this year, and I can probably beat you. Doesn’t that give you a clue?”
CT: “Look, I know all that.”
Tess: “Then why do you do it”
CT: “It’s in my blood. I know one morning soon, I’m going to wake up and decide it’s not worth it, but that time hasn’t come yet. I want to fight. I want to beat someone. Like when I beat Yvonne, that last time we fought, I felt so good because she is incredible. Nothing like it”
Tess: "You’re serious?”
CT: "Yes. I know about your martial arts history and you quit because you sent a friend to the hospital”
Tess: "It was an accident, but yes. I quit”
CT: “And so now you have boxing and martial arts sessions very week”
Tess: “I do it for exercise and to stay in shape”
CT: “No you don’t. You do it because fighting is in your blood now. You want the challenge. You could go to the gym and workout. You could run ten miles to stay in shape, but you chose physical contact sports
Tess: “You think that?”
CT: I know it. I have watched that brawl with Regan several times. You didn’t accidentally hit her harder that you were supposed to, you did it on purpose. You signaled you wanted a brawl and Bridget knew it. You got what you wanted. Admit it”
Tess: “ Well….."
CT: “In Nashville you train against a guy right?”
Tess: "Yeah, there are no women my size that want to box and the guys just don’t want to go against a female, so Max volunteered. He’s bigger, but he is a nice guy and takes it easy with me”
CT: "But I understand you get into slugging matches with him.You taunt him right?”
Tess: “I guess”
CT: “And how does that work out?”
Tess: “Not well. Either I’m hanging in the ropes, being used as a punching bag or I am looking up at lights with smelling salts under my nose and Max terrified he has hurt me badly”
CT “But you taunt him again and again You want to fight not spar. You beginning to get my drift. When we sparred four or five years ago, I could sense you wanted something more, so i cut the session short and you were disappointed. right”
Tess: “Yes”
CT: “You actually enjoyed the brawl the other night. You liked fighting four at the same time until the fifth became too much and then when you woke up, you punched Jeri and me. Then, you took on a gang of hookers down at the jail. I was in a position to see that. I know you got contractural problems, but you will get back in the ring again I don’t know where or when, but it’s going to happen and probably more than once. Hopefully, it won’t be in some bar in Detroit. It’s in your blood now. Have I gotten through that thick skull of yours?”
Tess: “Yes. You have definitely given me something to think about”
CT; Let’s go downstairs and get something to drink. Talking to dumb blonde is exhausting
Tess: “Them’s fighting words”
CT: “Get over it”
