TESS VALMORE
CHURCH/A. LYNCH Since her bout with Church back in December 2016, Lynch has gone 9-3. She had a win over Ren Her losses were to Ren, Cyrus and Sagra, who is a lightweight, Church has had only one bout since then, losing to Ren last year. She hasn’t fought in 19 months. Lynch is younger, bigger by two inches and has the better record. I know she lost the first bout with Church, but she won’t lose this one. Lynch will win by a KO
LOPILATO/YUSTMAN Lopilato has an impressive win record. The problem is that she has fought a mix of bantams and lightweights and has not beaten any lightweight of note. She is 3-0 for the year, but fought only second tier fighters.
In Yustman, Lopilato is facing one of the best lightweights going. Yustman has won five of her last six, being upset by Rohrbach. Tractorpull has Yustman ranked at 8 among the lightweights and Boxing World has her ranked at six
I think Lopilato is out of her class here Yustman by a KO
ROHRBACH/KURKOVA Rohrbach is 3-2 for the year, but she is fighting mostly top flight competition. Her two losses were to Lima and Swift. In the lightweight rankings, Rohrbach stands at 11 in Boxing World and Tractorpull has her at 7
Kurkova is 4-1 in her last five, but like Lopilato hasn’t fought any one of note recently. She did beat Ambrosio back in 2016. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Kurkova could win this fight. Possible, not probable. Rohrbach will win
GOMEZ/E. WATSON Watson has a losing record, but is having a great year so far. She is 7-1 with all her bouts ending in KOs. Gomez has a much better record, however, is not having nearly as good a year as Watson. Gomez is 2-2 and 5-5 since the beginning of 2017. Size and age are not a factor the two have fought twice before with each having a win. This is a 50/50 bout. I am going to take a chance on Gomez. Gomez will win
FERGUSON/DECKER It can’t bet much better than this. Two of the top blondes facing off. Ferguson is already a two time champion. She has a 26-4 record, but nine of those wins have come at JMDD so her conventional record is
17-3, nothing to sneeze at. Decker has vastly more experience, but is giving up two inches height. She lost a JMDD bout to Ferguson in June. That was the first JMDD fight in her 45 fight career at the time. She's 2-2 for the year with losses to Upton and T. Atkinson. This should a great bout. I’m going to have to go with Ferguson to win
