TESS VALMORE
I have to admit I was unable to see all the bouts on the PPV. Actually, I did not see any bout after Lively/Heard. As you know I was attacked by the Chimera stable and as a result of the melee, I was unjustly arrested and spent the next six hours in jail. My comments on any fight after that, are based on what I have told by associates whom I trust
There were three title fights in which two titles changed. Michele Williams won her ninth unified title with a late TKO of Vanessa Hudgens. Scodelario successfully defended her bantam title by KOing Benoist. In the welter title fight, Upton took the title away from Atkinson. Unfortunately, Upton had to humiliate Atkinson. I like Upton, but her actions were uncalled for. I have always been against humiliations and even more so now that I have been put through one even though I was nothing but a bystander. I can testify, there is no other word for the experience other than “humiliating”
Sarah Carter’s drive to get into the Hall Of Fame suffered a serious set back in her loss to Emma Roberts. As a result of the loss, it is now impossible for Carter to get into the Hall Of Fame in her 100th fight. She needs four wins to be eligible but has only three fights left before reaching 100
There won’t be any significant changes in the welter rankings as Rhoda, Kloss and Righetti all won. Taylor Hill will make a move towards the top ten with her win over the aging GOAT in a fight that shouldn’t never have happened
In the lightweights, Swift tuned up for the lightweight tournament by beating Kerr, who didn’t get a tournament invite. Lily Aldrige pulled an upset in her win over Agdal. Lightweight action was limited because of the upcoming title tournament
In the bantams, the big win was Shay Mitchell’s KO of Bella Thorne, which will probably cost Thorne more than Mitchell will gain. Scodelario. however, is going to have to give her consideration for a title bout. Chopra upset Bellisario, which should give Chopra a boost in the rankings, but quite to the top ten
In the flyweights there were a number of upsets. The biggest won was Winter’s win over Portman, which I think was the upset of the night. The second big upset was Watson’s win over Kunis which will probably cost Kunis her top ten spot The third upset was the previously mentioned Carter loss to Emma Roberts.
On a personal note I must day I was delighted to see my BFF Cassie Scerbo return to her winning ways and trust she is on the road to reclaiming the flyweight title. The other bout that delighted me, was seeing Lavigne do down at the hands of Orrantia. That meant I didn’t have to listen to Lavigne’s big mouth after the bout, claiming she was humiliating her opponent because she was disrespected
