TESS VALMORE
Once again the Dollhouse holds their PPV in Los Angeles. Apparently the Dollhouse doesn’t have much of a travel budget. Once again, I will be watching on TV
J. CHASTAIN/HEWITT Chastain enters the PPV with a 5-0 record, but really hasn’t fought any one of note, which is OK for someone who is 41. She is fighting Hewitt who is 39. Yes Hewitt has held two championships. Yes, she has had over 100 bouts, but she has lost her last eight and eleven of her last twelve. Interestingly, no fighter has lasted the sixth round against Chastain. In Hewitt’s last nine fights. She has lasted past the sixth only once. She lasted, in that one, half way through the seventh. By the way, Chastain is two inches taller. Dollhouse publicity is probably right. This should be Chastain’s toughest bout to date, but but that isn’t saying much. I’m going to Chastain to win
H.WILLIAMS/SONG Williams has a 4-2 record against the usual quality of Dollhouse opponents. She lost her last fight which was at the Asylum. Her opponent. a member of the deteriorating Bazz stabile, is Brenda Song. Song knows the Asylum well. She has fought there six times and even one won. She, however, has lost her last ten. This could be a tougher fight for Williams than Chastain’s challenge. I’ve lost all faith in Song. Williams will win
WINNICK/BECKINSALE This will be Winnick’s ninth fight of the year. She is 5-3 so far winning her last three over opponents suitable for her age. Beckinsale is older by four years. Dollhouse publicity points out Beckinsale’s recent victories over Alba and Jolie as examples of how good Beckinsale is. Well, Alba has lost ten straight and Jolie, at least seven straight with her last win being back in 2010. Beckinsale, however, has beaten some good fighters in her career. Beckinsale is three inches taller than Winnick. I think that extra reach is going to be too much for Winnick. Beckinsale will win
LAVIGNE/BENSON Big mouthed Lavigne is obviously the Queen of the Dollhouse no matter what Thorne thinks. This will be Lavigne’s 15th fight of the year. Her 2018 record is 13-1. So far her opponents have been of the average or below quality. It’s time she step up to the “big girls” If she does, it won’t be in the this bout. Benson’s record is underwater and she has lost all three of her bouts this year and four of her last five. All four of those losses were by a kO6. Benson has a height advantage but I don’t believe it will be decisive. Lavigne wins by a KO and I will have to listen to her mouth about being disrespected
THORNE/KOSARIN Thorne goes where Lavigne fears to tread. Thorne takes on a top ten bantam. This will be Thorne’s twelfth fight of the year. She is 10-1 for 2018. Kosarin is 6-3 for the year, but she is ranked at six in Boxing World’s rankings while Thorne comes in a fourteen. That was before Kosarin’s shocking loss to Theron is the July PPV that could go down as the bantam upset of the year even if it may have been at catch-weight I think the bout is more important to Kosarin that Thorne. She needs to comeback from that upset. Kosarin will win
