BEFORE:

Another tune-up fight for Ms Avril Lavigne before her official Doll Ball appearance in early September. Tonight, it’s a one-fight deal inked with Shenae Grimes, coming to you live from the Galen Center in LA!

Avril first to take the stage during the pre-fight segment, teasing the audience with a coy smile and wave of her fingers. Shenae next to enter from backstage, looking equal parts confident, especially with Jessica Lowndes, The 'Alpha Lioness' and Grimes' sparring partner, escorting and applauding her by her side. She bounces on her toes before raising hands high to acknowledge the packed arena. This is a highly anticipated match-up between two Flyweights, made more exciting due to the fact that both of them had specifically requested to face each other prior, after a certain statement made by Grimes last month.

“So… we’re here because Shenae challenged me to a fight. She started talking sh*t about me behind my back after her last fight, going on about how she was more talented than me and how she wanted to ‘whoop my ass’. PUH-LEASE,” Avril saying with a massive eye roll, before turning to address Shenae directly. “You’re ranked WAY lower than I am, b*tch. Everyone knows who the better Canadian is. You should know your f*cking place. Everyone is talking about how she’s won her last five fights and how she trains with Jessica Lowndes…. Is that supposed to scare me or something? Pffft. She’s only beaten creampuffs like Grande and Justice. I accepted her challenge even though I have two bigger fights coming up, just because she’s such a jealous b*tch who sh*t-talks me behind my back. And she’s totally getting her ass kicked tonight!”

Lavigne’s mouth certainly not winning over many of her compatriots in the division, let alone certain elements of the press, and you can bet that Shenae counts herself as one amongst those ranks, when she replies:

“Yeah so…Avril loves to talk… she’s a *big* talker. But from what I’m hearing, and seeing…” Shenae winks with a smirk and chuckle. “She’s not really a big WORKER. I on the other hand, work hard every day and my results speak for themselves. Having one of the best fighters in the FCBA, as well as the BEST Canadian fighter - Yes, much better than you, sorry Av…as my sparing partner is huge, and frankly? YES, it SHOULD make you scared Avril. I’ve won my last 5 fights and tonight it’s your turn as my new punching bag. A very *soft* punching bag I’m sure.” Shenae certainly having her fun here toying with Avril’s emotions. “Jessica’s given me lots of pointers for tonight and I’m going to stick to the plan: whooping Avril’s ass!”

Girls further get into an altercation at the podium just as they meet face-to-face: Avril’s anger management classes clearly not working as she tries to deliver a tight SLAP to Shenae’s face once she gets in close! Grimes however manages to block the attempt to Avril’s surprise, slapping the blonde’s wrist away with her own, then launching herself immediately at Avril with vengeance, Lavigne shrieking as Grimes tackles her to the floor! Both girls now screaming as they roll around in a tangle of hair and limbs. Ring officials scratching their heads at this happening for the upteenth time, before moving in slowly to separate them as safely as possible.

Later in the ring, both Avril and Shenae pacing eagerly about as the referee finally makes the fight official. HERE WE GO - Avril in her Dollhouse fight attire, bringing her plenty of good luck thus far, whereas Shenae in a white sports bra and black-as-night trunks - both ladies squaring off for ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Avril springing forward at the bell looking for a fight, shooting punches at Shenae’s head even though she’s not even in range yet. Shenae by contrast hanging back and letting the wild hurricane come at her direction. She’s been forewarned of Avril’s wild tactics, for sure but nothing can prepare you like the actual thing... Avril closing distance a little too easily, too fast for her opponent’s comfort, and Grimes grunts as her chin absorbs a grazing swipe, before more power shots bang into her upper guard. Shenae trying to fight defensively here, but we don’t think it works too well against someone like Lavigne, who’s determined to throw punches regardless of her strategy. In the final minute, Shenae manages to get away and keep her distance. Avril also winded, each time trying to rush at her but getting snagged on the tummy instead, Shenae exploiting the singer’s body like she’s been taught. Round ends but one girl has done just enough to edge the other one out, with Ms Lavigne’s aggressive tactics giving her the round by a close margin.

ROUND 2:
Now that Shenae’s getting a better feel of her opponent, she opts to stick with her plan of sticking Avril with leather from afar. Lavigne stubborn as hell as well, just keeps on coming forward and firing, oblivious to the fact that Shenae’s picking her off with long jabs. After a third such one catches her on her cheek and above the eyelid, Avril shrieks out in pain and frustration, before deciding to stay put for the first time this fight. Fine by Grimes, who begins to stalk forward with greater purpose, pounding lefts and rights on Avril’s guard, before blasting a hook into the side of forearms. Avril’s turn to get buffeted about - even though those attacks aren’t landing on her face, her defenses can’t quite hold like this forever. Avril with a grunt as a hook lands on the side of her tummy, driving her a few feet backwards on instinct. It’s a tight race for both girls here in the second round - we’ll call it a draw, with both of them landing some choice shots but neither girl really distinguishing herself.

ROUND 3:
These girls enjoying getting into a scrap outside the ring, but once they’re inside the ropes, their true fighting mettle’s tested. Avril a little more hesitant this time compared to just minutes ago when she threw that open palm into Shenae’s face. She’s trying to keep the brunette at bay and fend off more pesky shots to her body. Shenae almost exclusively going after that navel region - must be on the advice of Jessica Lowndes of the Canadian singer’s weak points. And it works: Avril mewing as stray shots pound in and from the side - no amount of return punches into Shenae’s face or body seem to deter her from completely wrecking her belly. Avril forced to cover up judiciously, or worse, keep her distance and try to fight defensively for once. Definitely not her cup of tea, allowing Grimes to continue picking her off at her own leisure. Shenae surges into the lead at the end of these three minutes, and she knows it, raising a cocky arm to the crowds and basking in the glow of Lowndes’ neverending praises ring-side, the Canadian lioness grinning and clapping as her protégée takes the lead. Avril with a scowl on her face in own corner, needing to dig deep if she’s hellbent on putting this insolent girl down.

ROUND 4:
Wild melee in the middle as both girls decide it’s time to go all in, chips a’blazing. Once again, Shenae slapping leather into the body and chest, determined to expose her enemy where it hurts the most. Avril groaning but dishing out equal punishment, jamming hands up into Shenae’s chin, but the more devastating punches sail in from the side to impact her chin and rattle Grimes’ head, at the middle mark succeeding in sending her stumbling to one side to catch her balance. Crowd ROARS as they sense a turning point of the match and the potential end of one lady, much to Lowndes’ horror as Shenae is forced to recover her guard up quickly. And none too soon! Avril leaping inwards to try and finish her off! Shenae just making herself small as she’s hounded back to the ropes, looking for salvation. Bell sounds to give her that, and credit to the Doll where credit’s due, as Avril took all that punishment to the body: the extent of which becomes apparent soon enough. Though she took this round by close margin, Avril’s body painted red and pink, and she’s bent over stumbling back to corner, albeit with a smile on her lips for the first time this fight.

ROUND 5:
Shenae perhaps underestimating her foe’s resolve, complaining to Lowndes in between rounds that Avril’s “still f*cking upright!” Of course, this isn’t completely true, with Avril wincing as she rises from her own stool to continue the fifth. This gives Grimes a glimmer of hope that her strategy’s actually working, and the two girls slowly circle to meet in the center, before flying into a flurry of action: Shenae with another pair of hooks aimed at the body, spanking tummy flesh. Avril busy up top, trying to get past Shenae’s guard and score another one on the chin and face. For all both girls’ tough talk, the reality is neither of them can sustain this amount of damage for long. Avril getting bent over towards the middle mark, groaning with one hand clutching her tummy, as another uppercut is buried into her gut. Shenae however no bed of roses either, repeated side-swipes on her head left and right beginning to take a worse toll: result is both ladies swaying precariously in the wind, their bodies spent but eyes still glaring at each other but taking slow steps forward, determined to end this. Shenae pulling another hand back to send into Avril’s body, but Avril is sightly faster, comes in close quick, Grimes’ hook ringing harmlessly onto her back instead of front, thereby negating the damage. Instead, Shenae with a UGGHHGHH from her lips as her head snaps backwards from Lavigne’s uppercut sent up into her chin, Avril sneakily torquing that right hand as she waded in close. Shenae WOBBLY as she stumbles back, mouth open as she tries holding onto Avril’s shoulders looking for support, but slips completely off the girl’s sweat-soaked skin, HITTING the floor with a resounding THUDD! KNOCKDOWN for Avril!

Avril swaying back and forth herself from the harsh impact, but manages to steady herself at the sight of Shenae’s fallen form lying at her feet. Lowndes in disbelief at ringside, pounding the mat, desperately screaming at her friend to get the f*ck up…but Grimes too disoriented - simply unable to get off her back folks!!! Despite the referee counting her out all the way to ten! It’s over!!!

Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Shenae Grimes via KO5!

AFTER:
Avril’s focus on headshots pays off, taking the win by the fifth round. She looks both relieved and outraged as she celebrates in the ring: an embrace from Carmen quickly turning heated when Avril turns her attention to Jessica Lowndes, who’s still besides herself milling about by the apron, wondering where things went wrong. Avril berating the mentor from above, gloating about how she just beat her prized student and friend.

Shenae still barely stirring as the medics surround her in the ring, but they’re quickly shooed away when Avril decides to focus her attention back on her. Shenae grunting with a strangled scream as Avril stomps hard on her belly, wanting her alive for the taunting:

“You lost, b*tch! Guess you know now who the better Canadian is! Better go back to fighting cream-puffs…” Avril laughing, before bending down and reaching to grab at her hair, intending to pull her up for more beratement.

That’s it - Lowndes having enough waiting by the sidelines. Another roar from the crowd to acknowledge the new player in the ring, who scoots under the ropes and makes a dash towards Avril. Lavigne crazy, but not that crazy, immediately abandoning her grip on Shenae’s hair and backing away to the safety of her own corner - she’s not about to tangle with a former Flyweight champion - especially now at this point after a fight. Jessica more concerned with her friend's well being, doesn't bother giving chase. “Yeah…run away. And STAY the f*ck away.” Lowndes barks at the blonde, staring daggers at Avril with her finger pointed directly at the blonde. Lavigne too tired or too hesitant to confront the brunette further, slumps to her stool and lazily flips Lowndes off while being checked on by Dollhouse medical staff.

“Whatever…” Avril spitting venom later when asked to comment by reporters. “Shenae really needs to find a better trainer if she wants to get anywhere! And Jessica - you need to find a better sparring partner! Shenae is trasssshhh!” she laughs, before being escorted backstage by her stablemates.
