TESS VALMORE
I have said before, that the VIX and FNL PPV’s were the hardest to predict. That was especially true of this card. For the first time since I have been doing the predicting, I ended under water and not by just a bit. I missed four of the five bouts. If you lost money on my predictions, don’t expect a refund. After all, I didn’t make you bet.
Foy surprised me. I guess after seeing for two season as the Queen. She just didn’t look like someone who would climb into a ring with a minimum of clothes and fight. Well she did and did it well this time
The Delevingne/Bowden fight was the only one I got right. That’s nothing to brag about since Bowden has no business being in the ring. I know she won a bout, but she has now lost eight of nine. I got a flash for you. That’s not contender numbers
Knightley seems to be staging a comeback after several dismal years. In beating Seydoux, she has won her third straight this year
The first co-main event was a little strange as it featured two fighters with terrible records. Alba had a long losing streak and Eve had lost three straight and three-fourths of her bouts, Eve won sending Alba to her tenth straight loss. I don’t care if she did hold two titles in the distant past, she now 37 and lost ten straight, Ultimate Fighter needs to release her for her own good
I didn’t expect Beckinsale to have much trouble with Markle. Much to my surprise, it was the other way around. Beckinsale, who will turn 45 this week, has slowed down having only one fight in 2016 and 2017. She won both, Her wins were over Jolie and Alba. Not exactly top flight opponents. Some manager’s have delusions that age doesn’t count, It does. Her decline started in 2009 when she was in her late thirties. Beckinsale should be looking for some other way to spend her declining years. In the meantime, she has a bout with Scherzinger on the July PPV. We shall see how that goes
