TESS VALMORE
SPRITZER/McCURDY Winter had a 1-4 record before joining Front Street. Since then she has won has won seven straight fighting a Front Street schedule.
Spritzer comes in with a 1-3 record. The two fought not quite a year ago at the Asylum with McCurdy winning with a KO5. Front Street was so impressed that they scheduled Spreitler again thereby insuring that McCurdy’s win streak would go to eight. McCurdy repeats with a KO
PARE/ARTERTON Arterton has already had three fights this year and is on a seven bout win streak. She is a former champion. You would think she would fight someone who is a little challenging. Well, Pare has won three fights in her career, but not recently She has had three fights in the last four years and lost them all. Her last win was in August 2013. She lost her first fight at the Asylum. She will lost this one also. Arterton by a KO
McPHEE/McKINNEY Would it impress you if I told you the McPhee KOed Taylor Swift? That was four years ago and since that time she has lost six straight lasting past the sixth round only once. She has however, fought some pretty good opponents like Righetti. M. Ryan and Swift twice. The win over Swift was her only win. This will be her fourth appearance at the Asylum. McKinney has been with Front Street for less than a year. Most of her previous experience was at JMDD. Since being at Front Street she has won four straight with her biggest win being over Bloodgood. This is not a cupcake bout. It’s one that McPhee could win, but I have to go with McKinney by a KO
LIU/STEWART This a stroke of genius by the Wiz. He hands the most babied fighter in the history of the FCBA, a Hall Of Fame opponent. Years from now when fans look at the history, they will see she fought Lucy Llu and be impressed. They probably won’t look up to see that Liu has only had four fights in the last nine years and lost three of them. This will be her first FCBA fight in four years. Not only that, the big reason why she was scheduled is that she is almost fifty years old. That’s right, the big 50. Not only is Stewart 23 years younger, she is three inches taller. Stewart has won five of her last seven. Five wins over cupcakes and two losses to good fighters. That’s the way her career has been Would you be surprised if I said that Stewart was going to win? Well there I said it. I was hoping the Wiz would drop Stewart in his last reorganization but it was not to be. Do you get the idea that Stewart and I are not exactly best buddies. Yeah, we don’t exactly see eye to eye
TORV/A. J. COOK Cook comes into this bout with a 14-15 record. She has had only three fights in the last four years and lost them. The losses, however, were to two top ten lightweights and one top ten welter. She is 40 years old. In this fight, however, age will not be a factor as Torv is almost 39. I was surprised when the Wiz released Decker and kept Torv. You know my opinion of fighters entering their 40’s and even in their late 30s. They are on the downside. Torv has a 38-11 record, but has had only one title shot, which she lost. I think time has passed her by. With Perry, Arterton and Swan on the lightweight bench, the chances of her getting another title fight is remote unless the Wiz drops a ton of money to get one. Cook could give her trouble, but I have no doubt that
Torv will win
BLOODGOOD/UTGAARD Bloodgood is another older fighter on the card. She will be 43 later this year. She is a good example of an average fighter who managed to win a title. She has been on the downside for a couple of years. She had five fights lasted year and failed to last through the fifth. She has last six straight and ten of her last twelve Utgaard is undefeated in ten fights. Competition has been on the light side. Boxing World has Utgaard ranked at 15 and Bloodgood at 40. Bloodgood can still hit, however, Utgaard will win and complete a Front Street sweep of the card.
