TESS VALMORE
As most are aware, I have been on a tear for more competitive fights. I have to congratulate girlsfriday. Girlsfriday cards always feature competitive fights. I cannot remember a gimme on any the cards girlsfriday puts together. It’s nothing, but sheer luck that I have done as well as I have in predicting. I am definitely not confident in these predictions
JOHANSSON/RICKARDS I reserve the fight to change this prediction. Johansson is scheduled to fight on the upcoming PPV and also on the Doll House Round 3 PPV. The results of those fights could change my opinion. Rickards has a very good record. Her opponents have not been of the A class, but they have been normal, average, capable fighters. Johansson is a one time bantam champ and a two time flyweight champ. She has been on the downside since December 2013 losing six of her last eight. Rickards is a younger and a little bigger, while Johansson has the experience. I think Johansson may be toast. I go with Rickards subject to change as mentioned above
OLSEN/MIN-HEE Olsen comes into this bout after a 2-2 2017 after getting canned my Miss Ginny is late 2016. Olsen has the advantage in experience and quality of opposition. Her overall record is a little above 50% Min-Hee comes in undefeated in six conventional fights. Her opposition is a little on the light side, but OK for a fighter with only six bouts. I am going to take a chance on Olsen by a KO
ALEXANDER/REFAELI Alexander is one of those fighters who is underused. She has a 9-2 record. but had only two fights last year. Kendall Jenner and Ambrosio are a couple of her victims, This will be her first bout in almost a year. Boxing World has her ranked at 22. Refaeli is 1-1 for the year after losing on the February PPV. Her record is slightly underwater, but she has fought a commendable schedule. Boxing World has her ranked at 25. I am going to go with my fiancé’s judgement. He ranked Alexander higher so I go with her by a KO. Woe be to him if I am wrong
PATTON/BROOK Two fighters with losing records that are ranked in the top twenty. Only in the welterweights. In fact, Brook who is ranked at 11 by Boxing World has a record of 42-58-5. Brook was 3-4 in the FCBA last year, however, her losses were to top ten opponents Patton who is now 42 had a 1-3 year in 2017 Brook has everything in her favor size, age and experience. Patton however has beaten some of the best. I think Brook will win by a KO
WINSTEAD/KERR I just hate to admit it when I screw up. In my last lightweight rankings, I totally overlooked Kerr She has a 14-3 record and has beaten Kendall Jenner and seven other top ten opponents, She did lose a title bout to Jenner in the first PPV on the year. One of her other losses was to Winstead in March of last year. Winstead is one of my favorites because she doesn’t mess around. She fights nothing but the best and still has a winning record. She lost a title bout to Strahovski in the February PPV. I really hate to do this and hope I am wrong, but I think that Kerr will even up the wins. Kerr by a KO
