TESS VALMORE
E. ROBERTS/F. JONES Jones joined the FCBA last year at the age of 34. It’s no secret, I am not big on fighters who join the FCBA in their mid-thirties. They mainly serve to be victims of younger fighters out to pad a record. She had three fights last year and lost two. Roberts is 2-1 for the year after winning in the Doll House two PPV. I have to go with Roberts by a KO
CHASTAIN/ADAMS The 41 year old Chastain is ranked at 101 in Boxing Worlds bantam rankings. That may not seem encouraging. Then look at Adams. She is ranked at 187 in the flyweight rankings. Chastain has had two fights which she has won. Adams who will be 44 has been around for eight years. She has had five fights and lost them all. This is nothing but a gimme for Chastian to pad the record. Chastain by a KO
LAVIGNE/G G, real name Rebecca Gomez, is a newbie She is nothing but a sacrificial lamb. Lavigne should have little trouble. Lavigne by a KO
WINNICK/JOHANSSON Winnick and Johansson are both scheduled to fight on the March PPV which will go before this PPV. My opinion might change as a result of those fights Yes Johansson was a champion three times. The last two at flyweight back in 2011. That was then, but this is now Johansson’s managemant if she has any, had the majority of her fights in 2016 at JMD. She didn’t fight last year and has lost four of her last five conventional bouts. Winnick is now 2-1 after losing her first fight of the year. At present I am going to take a chance on Johansson by a KO. Like a said above this is subject to change
B. THORNE/LORDE Here we go again. Another bout scheduled for no other purpose than to pad Thorne’s record. Thorne may not be nearly the best bantam around but she will beat a newbie

Thanks for your input Tess.
I wonder though, which fighters DO you like? seems like you don't approve of 90% of the girls around the FCBA. But I digress.
I wanted to address your 'record padding' comments since I completely disagree with this accusation. So to open your eyes a bit, here are a few OTHER 'purposes' for booking one of our girls against a debutant:
1. Experience. Most of our girls are not veterans. In fact, none of them are. They need the ring experience and confidence building, time to find their own style, figure out what they are capable of - get to know themselves as boxers. Booking them against top 50 competition every month is not the right way to achieve that in my eyes. Feel free to disagree.
2. Entertainment. We love booking fights that will be interesting and entertaining to watch. Even for the casual fans. Not only in terms of boxing match ups and quality, but also star power. Becky and Felicity are stars, not to mention Lorde, Adams and Johansson. Those are big names. We are quite sure A LOT of people would love watching these girls in action, and we're happy to be the ones to bring it to them. We're expecting a lot of ticket sales.
3. Introducing new faces to the league. And when I say new faces, It usually means huge stars. We're confident a LOT of people would love seeing these big names join our league and fight for the first time, and so do we. We also hope to see these girls stick around and fight regularly, maybe even get signed.
So as you can see, there are plenty of other good reasons other than 'padding records' for us to arrange these fights. Not to mention, like I said, none of our girls are veterans - Which means these fights are FAR from guaranteed wins for them. I'm taking a risk every time I book one of my girls against a girl who's a big question mark in terms of skill\potential, who has nothing to lose and gives it her all for the chance for an 'upset'.
Hope that changes your mind a little bit.
See you around and have a nice week!

Hah! It's like reading Mr. V comments from 2013. That was a lost cause. If Carmen wants to make Tess change her mind just a little bit then I suggest looking at Kendall Jenner record. Beating Adriana Lima, Kaley Cuoco, Tess BFF Jessica Alba and Mary Elizabeth Winstead is the only way to make Valmore eat some crow. Everything else is destined to fail.

Note: Tractorpull seldom reply to posts I have only been with Tractorpull around six years, but Tractorpull has been around for 18 years. We were well aware of all the reason you cite. They have been used many times before. The experience issue is somewhat valid, but how much experience is one going to get fighting someone with no experience? Why do a couple fighters get a pass when Winnick, who has less experience, catch a former champion? If there was a demand for Jones, why did it take 18 years for her to be noticed and get a fight? Like I said, the reasons you cite have been used for years and are rather unconvincing. I would suggest you not reply as we are going to do an article on the subject and you can save your wrath for that. By the way we are not picking on you. We will comment any time we see what we consider an easy fight scheduled.

TESS VALMORE If there was a demand for Jones, why did it take 18 years for her to be noticed and get a fight? That's easy. Because she didn't come to Hollywood until she was over 30 years old. Not everyone shoots to American market fame while still in their teens, especially someone born in Birmingham. All British FCBA crossovers are destined to be late bloomers.

We will comment any time we see what we consider an easy fight scheduled. Someone with not much experience will get PLENTY of experience fighting someone without experience. And even MORE experience doing it over and over again. Taking a beating in the ring and finding out what your'e capable of or not capable of in a 'REAL' fight, being under pressure, toughening up etc. All those things can be experienced and improved upon in a fight regardless of the quality of the opponent, it's not like they are fighting cardboards. These opponents hit back, and hit back hard - sometimes harder than my own girls, unfortunately. About Katheryn - she's an ambitious and tough woman, and has had plenty of experience fighting outside of boxing. She's confident enough to request these kind of fights, and we're confident enough in her abilities, so we oblige. The road we take with every one of our girls is different and depends on a lot of factors. In the end we try to do what we think is best for them while also listening to what they want.
