3. Dominique Piek vs Luisana Lopilato (Lightweight)

BEFORE:
Pushing and jostling as the pre-fight weigh-ins get physical for this match-up - Luisana surprising everyone with a SLAP to her opponent’s face after Dominique gets in too close for comfort. Earlier, the two models shoving into one another as soon as they get in range, Dominique’s first time at the podium contributing to some misunderstanding of what she’s supposed to do. The South American poses for the cameras, but decides to plant a fist smack on Luisana’s bosom, with a smirk to boot. Uh no - that’s a definite no no in Luisana’s books, and Dominique recoiling from that loud CRACK of an open palm reverberating through the hall for her troubles.
Honestly, Piek looks more stunned than offended for a moment, but base instincts very quickly taking over and the two girls LUNGE forward, claws out and grabbing hair, cursing in their native tongues. Thankfully the ring officials on site to intervene, quickly separating both southern natives and ushering them to the ring instead.
Dominique a former Sports Illustrated model in her own right, at 31 but having a body that’s ten years younger. She’s dressed in royal blue bikini, black hair tied up high in ponytail. Luisana ‘Lollipop’ Lopilato not to be outdone, recovering from a recent pregnancy but HELL if one knows how she managed to retain that toned figure. Tonight, she’s dressed in white cotton lingerie set, black gloves. Both girls look ready to rumble, so here we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!
ROUND 1:
Dominique may be a newcomer but that doesn't stop her from dominating (pun intended) the action early on, coming at Luisana fast and furious and harassing the blonde early on. Some rookies do the opposite, appear too hesitant, but Piek looking like she belongs in the ring with her natural aggression. Of course, her footwork and punch accuracy leaving much to be desired, with a large quantity of punches thrown at Luisana’s direction but very few actually landing. Still, they’re enough to keep Luisana busy and occupied. The blonde surprised to say the least at her opponent’s confidence, concentrates on fending off reckless punches and thus falling short of scoring points. Still, Luisana managing to knock the head back with a short jab or two towards the end of the round, showing the newcomer how it’s done.
ROUND 2:
That's how Luisana usually operates, feeling out her opponent early on and then using that knowledge to her advantage later. She’s more used to Dominique’s aggressive tactics in the second, more successfully parrying and dodging her punches as well as blocking and avoiding. Dominique on the receiving end of abuse a whole lot more this time - not sure whether the rookie even realizes she’s losing this round as she continues with the reckless aggression. Could be that her corner merely told her to swing for the fences and forget that she still has to land those punches. Luisana knocking the predictable hands out of the way to the left and right, proceed to STUN the South African beauty in the face with counter jabs. Towards the end of the round, Luisa gets a bit bolder, starts digging gloves into her opponent’s toned tummy, then lands a hook to the face, sending Dominique stumbling off to the side. If that didn't wake her up, I don't know what will. Luisana leveling out the points this time, displaying what experience can do instead of brazen swinging.
ROUND 3:
Let's not forget though that Dominique still left with a significant height advantage, coming in at least three inches taller than Lopilato. Still, she hasn't yet learnt how to use this to her advantage, allowing the shorter woman to boss her about the ring in the first two minutes. Blonde obviously looking for the early knockdown with a couple of wild hooks slamming hard into the guard, but try as she might, all she succeeds in doing is jostle Dominique’s lanky frame about, like a candlestick in the wind swaying from side side, but Dominique tall enough to avoid tipping over unless there’s a significant gust of wind. Luisana exerts herself to full extent in this round, and is clearly disappointed when the results don't bear fruit. Dominique on the other hand grinning back to corner, face flush red with blood flow at the workout, knows she might have taken the worse of what the blonde could throw at her this round and eager to take the fight back to her.
ROUND 4:
Tough round for Luisana as she needs to take a little of her own advice and not rush in hopelessly. Dominique using her legs to great effect, and if this were a kickboxing match one would think Luisana would’ve been long knocked out cold on the ground by now. Instead, Dominique only allowed to use her feet to cut Luisana’s escape vector off, then pick her apart with pesky jabs left right. Luisana’s grunting growing louder and louder each time her nose slammed in and head knocked backwards. The blonde isn’t looking too great herself, tired out from the constant running, last minute decides to rally at the urging of her own corner, narrowly DODGES a big hook swung her way as she comes charging in, manages to fire a quick combo into Dominique’s torso before wrapping arms around her chest. Dominique like that life-buoy Luisana clinging onto to stay afloat for rest of the round, and thankfully for her, the rookie’s not used to brawling in close quarters, with Dominique doing very little to break out of the tanglement all the way to the bell. Smile gone from Piek’s face at the end of three minutes, fuming as she shoves Luisana off roughly, unhappy at the cheap trick at being denied a knockdown and potential win this round. Luisana cheekily grinning at the brunette’s frustration, eager to take the fight on to another round.
ROUND 5:
Girls two rounds apiece and dead equal in terms of points, by our estimates. For shame that this new girl’s been able to hang with the veteran player for so long. Whether it speaks about her potential for greater things in the ring or more ominous signs for Luisana’s decline, we’ll never know until the end of this fight. Luisana manages to tap into her opponent’s psyche with that controlling last round - Dominique coming at her with single-eyed focus, jabbing high then swinging hooks at her body. But Luisana standing her ground, firing right back in opposite sequence: left-right to the side of bronzed tummy, then CHOPS the uppercut straight up into the chin - AND DOMINIQUE’S DAZED! Piek grunting as she’s walked backwards, stunned from that hard shot that snapped her head backwards. Both girls still firing and firing in wild melee, but Luisana with greater precision aim, shooting punches in and out of the jawline. ANOTHER straight cross lands hard and simply FLOORS HER ONTO HER BACK! KNOCKDOWN for Lopilato!
Dominique groggy, attempting to rise, writhing on the ground with both hands holding her aching jaw. Luisana trippy, smiling as she takes a walk to neutral corner, happy to have scored an early knockdown. Piek doing her best to rise but COLLAPSES back down at the count of 8, struggling to rise beyond both knees. Time runs out on her and this fight is OVER!
Official Decision: Luisana Lopilato defeats Dominique Piek via KO5!
AFTER:
Fans on both sides of aisles have mixed feelings here: some happy at Lollipop’s resurgent win tonight; others hoping for the brawl to go the distance. Piek still in pain as medics attend to her in corner, jawline swelling up rapidly indicating some damage. Kudos to her at least for hanging on so long. Her manager assuring us ringside that she’ll be back in the ring soon enough, as she should be with a girl of her talents and looks.
Luisana walking away with a win tonight but let’s not forget - she’s stumbled against more formative opponents in the past, so a win over a fresh face might not be considered by some as that big of a deal. Still, the Vixen is all smiles as she’s embraced by teammates ringside, and we wish both competitors better luck in the future.
