ADELAIDE KANE VS LAUREN MAYBERRY
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Adelaide: 27 YO, 5’4 (1.69 m), 3-15-0, 2 KO since 2013, Foxfire Boxing
Lauren: 30 YO, 5’0 (1.5 m), 0-2-0 since 2017, The Dollhouse

Before: Both fighters come into this bout acutely aware that their less-than-stellar records have rumors flying one or both could soon be shown the door at the respective stables.
“I certainly can’t afford another loss,” admits Australian actress Adelaide Kane. “It’s been so frustrating for me. I know I can do so much better than the numbers show. Now I have prospect of losing to a fighter who is winless and four inches shorter. I am NOT going to let that happen. I have nothing against Lauren Mayberry personally, but I simply cannot allow her to defeat me.”
Petite Scotch pop singer Lauren says: “This is such a great opportunity. Imagine: a wee Scot like me takes down a—relatively speaking—Big Aussie like Addie. Well, that solves a goodly number of my problems. I’ll have my first win and prove I can like my weight in bigger flyweights. This just too good to let slip by, I intend to win and ‘win big’!”
Fight night at the PPV finds Lauren Mayberry in her tight thigh-length black trunks, pink with black trim sports bra. Pink boots and gloves. Dark hair loose, but wetted down. Adelaide Kane is in blue high-cut trunks and a red with gold trim sports bra. Bobbed hair hanging loose (but dry). Gold gloves and boots. Fighters looking tense during ring instructions, though these formalities go smoothly, but then the glove tap suddenly turns into a pushing match. Referee intervenes with a stern lecture and then sends the pair to their corners. The bell rings…
R1: Adelaide wasting no time using her superior reach to strike at Lauren’s head from a distance. Lauren tries to get in under the shots banging off her skull, but Addie doing a good job of keeping her back. Lauren’s not quitting, she circles and keeps trying to get under Adelaide’s stabbing shots. Adelaide still able to keep the petite Scot at a distance and she’s now lumping up the singer’s face with her punches. Lauren not backing down, but not able to get much on the taller Aussie flyweight. Round ends in a wide win for Adelaide. Lauren understandably looking frustrated.
R2: Lauren finds a way: she charges fast from her ring at the opening, zips under Addie’s initial punches and comes pounding her way into the Foxfire flyweight’s body. Adelaide struggling as Lauren gets in her trunks and won’t be driven back, Lauren hammering Addie’s belly and ribs. Addie trying to punch down on Lauren, but can’t seem to discourage her. Adelaide finally slips off to the right and buys herself a little distance with which to get her jab going. Now Lauren getting smacked up hard to the face, drawing blood from gashes across her cheekbones, but the dauntless Scot flyweight won’t be denied. Lauren bores her way in and now gives Addie’s chest a going over. Adelaide fighting back, but then gets gutshot by a Lauren hook deep to the belly. Adelaide dropping back, still using the jab, but Lauren taking the counters for the satisfaction of getting hard leather into her opponent. It’s not easy, but the bell finds Lauren Mayberry has pulled out the round by a close margin.
R3: Lauren goes right back at Adelaide as the new round gets going. Addie not surprised this time, but Lauren still willing to fight her way in to get at the Aussie. High punch rate action as Lauren is able to force her way in close and now she’s aiming at Addie’s chin and jawline. Addie better able to use her jab, but she is getting hit in the face. Addie trying to ignore the blood dribbling down her chin from a split lower lip and gets a strong right/left combo against opposite sides of Lauren’s skull. Blows seem to stun Lauren and Addie drops down to give Lauren some hooks to the belly. Lauren dropping back, but she rallies and comes back. More intense toe to toe action and Addie finally drives Lauren back on her heels. Bell sounds. Once again it is close, but this time Adelaide Kane wins the round.
R4: Adelaide trying to move out quickly and steal a march on the aggressive Lauren. Lauren has same idea and they reach mid ring simultaneously. However Addie uses her longer reach to crack Lauren hard across the jaw with a powerful right. Lauren’s charge turns into stumbling lurch forward into Addie. Adelaide shoves her back and swipes her across the face with whipping rights and lefts. Lauren trying to protect her face as she falls back, but Addie going hard to the torso with hard driven hooks. Lauren repeatedly knocked up on her toes by these impacts and doubled over. Addie then brings uppercuts into Laurens tilted forward face and she is jerked upright. Then Addie goes to the chin for one-two-three—four successive uppercuts. Lauren lifted off her feet and HURLED to the canvas. She bounces as she lands and then sprawls out in a perfect starfish—arms over her head, spread out and legs spread out. Addie wastes no time savoring the sight. She is off to the neutral corner to watch as ref moves it. Lauren lifts her head a couple of times, but then lays back with her eyes closed and slumbers peacefully as the count goes passed her.
THE WINNER: ADELAIDE KANE DEFEATS LAUREN MAYBERRY KO4.
After: It may not be a big win for Adelaide Kane, but it definitely is a win and she runs around the ring like she’s just won the Flyweight Title. Meanwhile Lauren is helped to the Dollhouse corner and revived. The next thing Lauren knows, Addie Kane is in front of her.
“Come on, come on, you’re awake! Let’s get this started!” Addie says with impatient eagerness.
“Wha—what--?” Lauren says foggily.
“I have waited a long time to walk someone. I am not letting this chance go by.” Addie says and pulls Lauren to her feet.
Carmen Electra has come into the ring to protest, but Nia Peeples turns up from the Foxfire corner.
“Give Addie a break. She’s never actually had a win where she walked someone,” Nia explains. “You know Lauren would have done it if she’d won.”
Carmen makes a face, but nods. It’s too late anyway, Adelaide has Lauren out doing a circuit of the ring waving like she’s a beauty pageant boxing winner. Lauren trudging along, a stoic look on her face, but are those tears in her eyes? Hard to tell as she quickly brushes her eyes. This was clearly as thrilling win for the struggling Adelaide Kane, but a disheartening setback for Lauren Mayberry. Plenty of action while it lasted and fans do seem willing to give Adelaide some hard earned cheers of victory.
