The ‘Me Too, B*tch!’ campaign
Blame the Hollywood elite, but women’s rights have been taking center stage this past year, with plenty a scandal to keep the men up worrying at night. Of course, Hollywood couldn't resist becoming a part of the talk and glitz, capitalizing on the infamy of certain individuals to make it all about them instead. It started with the Golden Globes in January, with actors and actresses all agreeing to dress in black, in defiance of the burly men who preyed on innocent girls, as if dressing up in another colour would have scared them away in the first place.
No matter. We here at VIX value our girls, and therefore are proud to organize the latest event in line with the #MeToo voices: titled #MeToo, B*tch!, we’re pitting some of Hollywood’s elite girls in a night of similar glitz, glamour and golden gloves!
All proceeds from the fights will go straight to charity, as the fighters have requested.
Without further ado, here are the matches for the card, taking place 18 Feb at the Chinese Theatre Hollywood. Book your tickets now!
1. Cara Delevingne vs Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey (Bantamweight)
Cara:
(26, 5’8, 2:4 FCBA, Free Agent)
Astrid:
(31, 5’7, FCBA Debut, Free Agent)
Pre-amble:
Coming off the recent success of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Cara Delevinge said to be the next big thing in Hollywood, with her kick-ass attitude and model-looks. The actress/model/feminist icon is certainly underrated, and what better way to open the night with a pairing with Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, A French-Spanish beauty whom you might have remembered from Guy Ritchie’s recent Arthur: Legend of the Sword and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
2.Felicity Jones vs Rachel Stevens (Flyweight)
Felicity:
(34, 5’3, 1:2 FCBA, Free Agent)
Rachel:
(39, 5’3, 7:26:2 FCBA, Free Agent)
Pre-amble:
Not strictly an actress vs actress bout, but Felicity Jones eager to get back into the driver’s seat, facing off against a known celebrity and S-Club 7 alumnae Rachel Stevens. We wish both girls the best!
3. Keira Knightley vs Jordana Brewster (Bantamweight)
Keira:
(33, 5’7, 15:26:2 FCBA, Free Agent)
Jordana:
(38, 5’7, 8:16 FCBA, Free Agent)
Pre-amble:
Another Pirates’ alumnae, but this time its female lead, facing off against Jordana Brewster, one of the iconic faces of the Fast & Furious franchise, Keira Knightley looks eager to get back into the ring after the recent closure of Mirage Boxing.
4. Emma Watson vs Lily Collins (Welcome to the Jungle Flyweight)
Emma:
(27, 5’6, 12:18 FCBA, VIXENs)
Lily:
(28, 5’6, 112, 11:2 FCBA, VIXENs)
Pre-amble:
The beloved Emma Watson makes her VIX debut with a tough a challenge as ever: facing off against VIX’s own resident Fittest Fly (a title still debated by Vanessa Hudgens). Ms Watson and Ms Collins have brawled before, with Lily coming off a painful loss. Now she hopes to turn the tables, and Emma hopes to keep her fists pointed in similar direction. We can’t wait for these girls to say ‘hello!’ once again!
5. Main event: Kate Beckinsale vs Jessica Alba (Bantamweight)
Kate:
(45, 5’7, 41:28:3 FCBA, Empire Boxing)
Jessica:
(37, 5’6, 52:62:4 FCBA, The Fighting Academy)
Pre-amble:
Our main event of the evening sees a return clash of giants: Kate and Jessica have clashed THREE times now, with the rivalry showing no signs of abating. Beckinsale still bitter about that time she had the Bantamweight belt ripped out from under her, whereas that was such a fond memory if you were to ask Alba.
We would like to thank Empire Boxing and The Fighting Academy for allowing their girls to clash once more, albeit in a bid for a more charitable cause this time.
See you all there!
