Our reporter and his blonde companion enter Front Street to find, as usual, Rufus, Avril, and the Man In The Hat sitting on stools in front of the center ring awaiting the ladies' return from roadwork.
Rufus: "Good morning, Tess. Smackey."
Reporter: "Morning Rufe..."
Tess (gesturing toward the suitcase at the Man In The Hat's feet): "The Buckeyes took no prisoners yesterday..."
Man In The Hat: "Oh, I suspect the team remembers last year, when it didn't start playing good football until almost the end of the season. This year, I think, the idea was to get off to a good start. And, you could say they did..."
Avril: "I'd say 77 points signifies a good start, yes."
Reporter: "On another subject, let's talk pay-per-view. Front Street might have a few fights on there..."
Man In The Hat: "Could be."
Reporter: "Mack vs. Bellisario. That would be a big time bantamweight fight..."
Man In The Hat: "Agreed. And, it's a good fight for both fighters. Knife wants to get back into the title picture. Well. There aren't too many better ways to do that than coming up with a win over Troi. And, Troi can only benefit from a win over Mack. Loss doesn't hurt either fighter overly much..."
Avril: "And, let's not forget that Wiz will do ANYTHING Troi asks him to do, so..."
Man In The Hat: "Now, that's not TRUE. But. This was a no-brainer. Again, good fight for both fighters if it makes the cut."
Tess: "Britney and Ashley Greene..."
Man In The Hat: "Brit's always game to get in the ring. And, have you seen her lately? She's in incredible shape. Greene's a good test for any bantam. And, again, it's a good fight for both girls. Both benefit from a win. Neither gets hurt much by a loss."
Reporter: "You said you were planning something big for Bennet. I wasn't expecting VanCamp..."
Man In The Hat: "Remember when Mr. V said Bennet was going to fight girls with a combined career record of 4-and something until she broke the record for consecutive wins?"
Reporter: "I remember."
Man In The Hat: "And, I said at the time, as I've said REPEATEDLY, that we don't care about records and we aren't here to break them. We care about TITLES and we ARE here to win them. VanCamp isn't a girl you fight if you're looking for a cheap win. She IS a girl you fight if you're thinking about a title shot. And, that's what we're thinking about. Not right now, of course. We're out of the bantam picture. But. Eventually. And, again, this is a good fight for both girls. A win helps, a loss doesn't hurt over much."
Tess: "Speaking of Mr. V, I note Upton was offered the title shot against Righetti, which is something you pushed for a long time ago..."
Man In The Hat: "Look. It ain't my job to make title fights for other stables. It's my job to manage THIS one. But. If I'm asked a question, I'm going to answer it. And, Righetti/Upton makes sense in a lot of ways. Amanda's biggest challenge is finding fresh, interesting, deserving challengers. Upton fits that bill. Yes, she fought Righetti for the title three years ago. But, that was three years ago, long before Upton went on her big run and became maybe the biggest draw in the FCBA. It's a great fight for both fighters. And, as both have excellent management, I'm not at all surprised it got made. Now. Get to church. Baseball at Bazz today. And, let's not forget..."
Tess: "Football next week! And, this is the year, Wiz! This is the year!"
Man In The Hat: "You never know..."
Rufus: "Good morning, Tess. Smackey."
