TESS VALMORE
HYLAND/PAGE I thought this bout was going Page’s way until towards the end of the third. Hyland landed a strong punch to Page’s midsection that seemed to change the fight. In the fourth, Hyland landed another strong punch to the midsection and Page went down for the count.
HANRATTY/ROBERTS The rounds were close with Roberts seemingly having the best of the early rounds, which included an accidental low blow that sent Hanratty to the canvas. Hanratty was tired by the end of round five, but Roberts didn’t take the advantage. Hanratty came out and took the sixth and then ended the fight with a right to the face. Hanratty KO7
VIKANDER/JUSTICE Vikander took he first two rounds. Justice, then swept the next three having Vikander is serious trouble in the fourth and fifth. Justice’s inability to finish Vikander in the fourth and fifth would cost her. Vikander came back in sixth to hand Justice a beating and end the fight with a right hand followed by a flurry of punches that sent Justice down for the count
COOK/BILSON Cook pretty much dominated this bout. Bilson would win only the second round, By the sixth round, it seemed that Cook was landing punches almost at will. It was all too much for Bilson who went down for the count
WATSON/KANE Kane had lost six straight going into this match. Well, let’s make that seven straight now. She did put up a good fight through four. In the fifth, Watson caught Kane with a right to the chin and it was the beginning of the end for Kane. Watson hit Kane with everything she had until Kane went down and stayed down
PANETTIERE/SHAHI Hayden had lost four of her last five and two of three to Shahi.
The fight was even at two and even at four. In the fifth, Panettiere went on a fast and hard punching offense that Shahi had trouble handling. Too much trouble A final powerful right to the temple ended Shahi night as she unable to rise and beat the count
HUDGENS/EVIGAN A crowd pleasing bout. Hudgens was hurt in the third and Evigan in the the fourth. Evigan had the better of the fifth. After that it was all Hudgens, who floored Evigan in the sixth and again in the seventh. In the eighth, Evigan again went down from a fierce body attack. As she tried to get to her feet, the referee had seen enough and stepped in to end the bout giving Hudgens an TKO8
HALE/M. WILLIAMS Williams may be 36 and had a lot of fights however she can still beat the young guns. The bout was even at four. Hale then floored Williams in the fifth and took the sixth and seventh to have a big lead. It was all for naught. In the eighth Williams handed Hale a bad beating that had the referee considering stopping the fight. Unfortunately for Hale he didn’t.
In the ninth the beating continued until a huge right to the chin lifted Hale off her feet and into dreamland while the referee went through formality of a count
HALLIWELL/MINOGUE Minogue had the lead at the end of three. In the fourth, Halliwell had a field day sending MInogue back to her corner in bad shape and with a cut over her left eye There wasn’t much left of Minogue as she came out for the fifth and she was easy prey for Halliwell who ended the fight with a big right to the chin
GREENE/R. B. SMITH This was Smith’s debut fight and it ended as most do when a newbie faces and experienced opponent. The fight was even at the end of four with Greene having Smith hurt at the end of that round. About a minute into the fifth Greene landed a straight right and then a left hook that ended Smith’s dreams of victory
TERRELL/BAYLEY A newbie wins in an upset. Terrell had won five straight by KO’s although they were at JMD. She looked like she would win this, her first conventional bout. She didn’t. She was in control of the bout for the first four rounds. Bayley came on to take the fifth and then ended the bout with a right uppercut to the chin that left Terrell unable to beat the count. Maybe big time JMD fighters aren’t all that good when it comes to conventional bouts.
NIGRI/LOVATO The bout was even at the end of five, the first round having been declared a draw. The fight was even at seven, however Lovato had a big seventh, Nigri barely surviving Nigri was a wreck as she came out for the eighth and didn’t last long as Lovato ended the bout with an uppercut
HOLLAND/FREGE What can you say about Frege? I guess she serves a purpose for anyone who needs a win. She served that purpose. It wasn’t a matter of who was going to win, It was a matter of how long. The answer was four plus. Holland hurt Frege in the fourth and KOed her in the fifth
PIPES/CASSIDY Pipes surprisingly won three of the first four rounds. Then, in the fifth things started to fall apart for the PLP member. Cassidy worked on Pipes midsection with great effect Pipes didn’t last long in the sixth as a Cassidy right uppercut put Pipes on her face where she remained for the count
SCODELARIO/FONSECA The bout was even at the end of four, with each fighter bleeding from cuts or from the nose. In the fifth Scodelario handed Fonseca a bad beating with Fonseca barely managing to finish the round. The sixth, didn’t last a minute as Scodelario unleashed a right to Fonseca’s chain that sent her down to a KO loss
MITCHELL/CHOPRA This was a back and forth bout. It was even at two, even at four and even at six. The sixth was a particularly good round for Mitchel as she has Chopra hurt at the end of the round. In the seventh, Mitchell unleashed a fierce body attack causing Chopra to drop her guard. Mithcell then landed a right to Chorpa’s temple and the fight was over. Mitchell KO7 I was disappointed in MItchell’s post fight antics which were completely unnecessary
JONES/OLSEN A good fight in which Olsen had as much or more trouble with her attire than she did with her opponent. Olsen got off to a good start winning the first two rounds. Jones came back to even the bout by taking rounds three and four. Olsen went back into the lead by pitching a shutout in the fifth. In the sixth, Jones threw a powerful left that missed it target and Olsen come over top with a strong right. It didn’t miss and Jones went down. She managed to regain her feet only to take another right to her face and she went down for good
DUSHKU/DOBREV Dobrev took the opening round. Then Dushku went on the offense taking the next three rounds and coming close to finishing Dobrev in the second and third rounds. The tide changed in the fifth as Dobrev would take the next three rounds, having Dushku in bad shape in the fifth and sixth rounds. In the eighth. the furious punching went Dobrev’s way. It was all to much for Dushku who stopped punching and the referee stopped the bout awarding Dobrev a TKO8
VANCAMP/ROBBIE A hard punching brawl VanCamp was lucky to survive the first two rounds and she kissed the canvas in each of the two rounds. VanCamp came back to deck Robbie in the third. After that. although the fight was competitive, the bout swung win VanCamp’s favor
In the seventh, VanCamp went on a punching spree targeting Robbie’s body until Robbie finally went down and was unable to beat the count
AMBROSIO/LAKSHMI Lakshmi has never won a fight and she is 46. Why is she still trying to fight? This bout lasted about seven minutes. Lakshmi was lucky to finish the second. A right to the jaw sent Lakshmi to her eighth loss in eight fights
AZALEA/SWANEPOEL Earlier I said that newbies seldom win there first bout. Well this is the second bout of the night to be won by a newbie. The fight was even at the end of six. Swanepoel looked like she was going to take the seventh when she missed with a right and Azalea got inside and ripped into her body. It was all too much for Swanepoel who ended the bout being counted out
K. JENNNER/DELEVIGNE I have said before, I have had about all I can stand of the Kardashian/Jenner crowd, but I had no doubt as to who was going to win this bout. At least Jenner looks like a fighter. Jenner had the lead at the end of five.. She then took the sixth and seventh to have a commanding lead. In the eighth Jenner floored Delevigne. Delevigne managed to get to her feet only to be beaten helpless and the fight was stopped. This was a new blood bout. My guess is Jenner will have some type of FCBA career. Delevigne will not
INMAN/PREJEAN This was Inman’s first fight. In my predictions, I commented that if Inman loses this fight she has no FCBA career. Inman has no FCBA career The fight was pretty much even at the end of four. In the fifth, the unbelievable happened. Prejean landed a right to Inman’s chin that put her out of her feet. It took Prejean a couple more punches to win her first fight since July 24, 2009 after thirteen straight defeats.
PALICKI/HEATHERTON It’s good to see Palicki back. She was gone for far too long as the lightweights definitely need someone like Palicki She was a constant top ten fighter until she disappeared for 18 months. This was Heatherton’s third bout. Her last fight was against Upton She may be being pushed too fast. Heatherton was looking good having the lead through five although the fifth was a good round for Palicki. Palicki worked Heatherton over in the sixth and in the seventh landed one of her famous right hands that left Heatherton out cold
PERRY/WINSTEAD This fight had title implications. The winner would certainly be in line for a title shot unless Miss Ginny insists on giving the title shot to the 161 ranked lightweight. This bout was fought on the beach right up to waters edge. It was a good fight The bout was even at two, four and six. In the seventh, a Perry blow to the solar plexus sent Winstead down. She managed to get to her feet only to be blitzed by Perry. The final punch sent Winstead into the waster as the ropes gave way. Perry hauled her to dry land and let her drop where she was counted out
PEREGRYM/CUOCO You have to admire Peregrym who is a small lightweight yet consistently fights top fighters. This time is was Cuoco, a Hall Of Fame member who only out of the rankings because of inactivity. After Cuoco took the first two rounds, Peregrym came back to take the next three. Cuoco evened he fight by taking the sixth In the seventh Cuoco floored Peregrym,
Peregrym got to her feet and took advantage of a Cuoco mistake to deck the blonde, The fight slowed down in the eighth with neither having the advantage. In the ninth Missy caught Kaley who was coming in with a right to the chin and Kaley went down and out.
HYLAND/PAGE I thought this bout was going Page’s way until towards the end of the third. Hyland landed a strong punch to Page’s midsection that seemed to change the fight. In the fourth, Hyland landed another strong punch to the midsection and Page went down for the count.
