I tended to send a lot of short e-mails with dumb questions in them to individual archive people whenever I made an edit I wasn't sure about, and I figured that it might make more sense to keep an ongoing thread for that so people would have an easy time ignoring things they didn't care about and weighing in on things they did. And since the forum is fairly new I thought putting all discussions about the forum itself somewhere might be worthwhile. With that, I present some things.
1: I noticed that the 20s retro fighters didn't have profiles, which seemed like and odd omission, so I added them. If it was intentional, I can undo it. There's a chance I'll end up doing some 20s content at some point (Mae West or otherwise), and that's something I'd like to see, so it seems fine, but since the bar for entry here is pretty low I figured I'd mention it.
2: It took me a while to notice this, but if you go to the main page and scroll down to the box at the bottom titled Forum Information & Statistics, there's a link labelled "Recent Posts" in there that shows you all posts in chronological order, which is nice if you want an experience similar to the old site. It's not so fantastic for following conversations, though.
3: We have avatars now! But the board shrinks them down to 150 by 150, or 150 by something less than 150, but proportional, if they aren't square. This shrinks down some details in pictures to the point that you can't really see them, which is unhelpful (some pictures survive this process fine, though, it depends on how much detail you need). If you have a picture you like for an avatar, you can (often) make it a little bit more usable by cropping it down to a square shape and shrinking it yourself to see how it looks in your favorite image editor. I use photoshop, GIMP is the free equivalent of that, and I'm fairly certain you can shift-drag to select a square shape in MS Paint, then copy, make a new file, and save that, but I'm not certain. Lately I've been using terrible free phone programs to edit things, but none of them are really good enough that I'd recommend them specifically.
If you want an image size adjusted but aren't up to dealing with an entirely new program for something trivial, I'd be happy to do it. Just get the image to me somehow.
