5. Stella Maxwell vs Nina Agdal

BEFORE:
Stella Maxwell one of those models who feels like she’s getting sidelined by opportunities to box - the Free Agent however is looking fit as a feather and elegant even, striding out behind the curtains in a Irish-green bikini and hair tied up in a battle bun. Maxwell has strutted the VS walkway for many times now, making her a veteran, at least compared to her opponent tonight.
“Nina’s done well for herself, surely, and I applaud her for her work in the ring,” Stella comments in that silky smooth British voice she’s known for. “But I just don't see how she belongs in this tourney - she hasn't walked the VS catwalk before - how the f*ck is she considered an Angel?” Asked of her chances tonight in the ring rather than the catwalk, Stella is quick to retort: “Ohhh, I wouldn't worry about that. Dancing in the ring is sorta like walking the catwalk. I’ll dance circles around Nina tonight…”
Some confident trash talk from someone who doesn't even have a stable to call her home, is what’s going through Nina’s mind backstage as she preps for her entrance. Her music starts blasting and off she goes, orange bikini and strawberry hair swaying in the ideal sea breeze once she bursts through the curtains with a flourish.
“Her opponent tonight, weighing in at 135 pounds from VIXENs California, Niiiiiiinnaaaa AGDAL!”
Stella watching with beady eyes from the ring as the Danish model shows that she has had plenty of practice strutting the catwalk of her own, thank you very much. Nina’s hair braided tight down her back tonight as she shows off her lean and mean body ready for competition tonight. Later, by ringside, she dons white gloves as she speaks to reporters:
“Stella has always been all talk and no action,” Nina smiling, one eye on Stella, clearly aware that her opponent is pacing the canvas right behind her. “If I need to get through this little, pesky fly to get to the Grand Finals and become Champion, so be it.”
Both girls come face-to-face in middle of the ring, Stella now with a scowl of contempt as Nina repeatedly makes a ‘shooing’ motion with her hands as though dismissing this pesky insect’s chances, who’s beneath her in every way. Stella is less than happy of course, almost taking a swing at Nina’s hands when she does it for the third time too many, but the referee holds her back and herds her back to corner.
Girls are ready to go, that's for sure. We’re back with the lovely Arianny Celeste, famed ring-girl from the UFC MMA world, who has gorgeously offered to referee / moonlight this event. She waves for the bell to start and off we go:
Round 1:
Stella showing everyone how hungry she is to stay relevant with an immediate and consistent barrage of jabs at Nina’s face and body to begin, stunning the Vixen with some hard shots that Nina has trouble dealing with so many at once. Vixen floundering in this opening round, frustration building as this upstart blonde making her look bad. Another left right jab jab combo catches her square on the nose, but she jams her own fists into Stella’s tummy, stopping her from going all in. Girls continue the rabid exchanges, eager to finally get a chance to pound her mouth in. Stella managing to control the round especially in the last minute with flurry of jabs that keep Nina guessing and in the defensive. The Brit decides to hang back all of a sudden when she knows she’s already gotten this round in the bag. Crowd gives a roar of affirmation for Stella when the bell sounds, but the look on Nina’s face - well, let’s just if looks could kill… Stella would have been in worse shape this round. Danish girl’s clearly frustrated, punching at the leather turnbuckle on her way back, as though it were Maxwell’s face pinned to the corner.
Round 2:
Stella doing more smart work, outworking Agdal whenever she gets in close to brawl by stuffing a long arm straight into Nina’s facial features. In doing this, she prevents a close quarters fight that she knows her opponent excels at. Still, Nina damned if she doesn't get what she wants, eats another flurry of blows to the face but manages to get in close enough to bury her right hand up into Maxwell’s belly. “Eat that, b*tch!!” Agdal shrieks as she continues stuffing her mitts into the body. Gurgling sound as Stella bent over, eyes wide from the piercing blows, but the Brit manages to straighten enough to shove her own gloves up and into Nina’s face, stuffing the lips and making her eat leather. But the Vixen smells blood here, keeps chugging blow after blow into the tummy with dull whup whip WHUD sounds. Maxwell realizes she can't get away, clinches forward and holds her foe in place, with their bodies slapping together in contact. Last thirty seconds see wild wrestling as girls push and shove and dig more fists into bellies. Referee has to separate them at the bell as they’re still taking wild swings at each other. Some bad blood boiling right there from frustration building.
Round 3:
Technical round for the most part as they get back to jabbing from afar and taking the occasional big swing that mostly land on the guard. Stella scoring some choice blows on her opponent’s face, then concentrates more and more punches into Nina’s body. She must be thinking one doesn't need to work the clinch to work the tummy. Agdal not happy by mid-round, repeated grunting with blows slamming harder and harder from afar, little she can do to stop the piercing punches that are stopping her in her tracks. Stella smirking, having found a new sweet spot to concentrate her fire, but when Nina’s return jabs start knocking her head back, both girls realize they’re eating mutual damage and not paying enough attention to defense. Round ends with both ladies at opposing ends of the ring, recuperating, breathing hard, unwilling to wade in and commit.
Round 4:
Nina rested and recharged, it appears, comes barreling out of corner, perhaps getting overly-cocky at bullying girls she deems as lesser beings. Stella proving her wrong with equal power and damage flung back in her face as both girls exchange blows in the middle of ring, then grim pounding on the sternum, taking turns churning offensive tummy with right hands that land harder and deeper. Girls grunting getting louder, faces showing mixture of both pain and growing rage as they refuse to back down. Stella in particular shows her grit as she buries both gloves into Nina’s chest at one point, stunning the Vixen with a squeal. But Nina retaliating almost immediately, snapping a left right combo straight into the blonde’s face, turning the head to either side. Those blows must have hurt because Stella growls and unwillingly retreats. Nina senses imminent victory, steps forward and continues whacking crosses straight down the middle, hitting the guard. Stella managing to get her forearms up just in time before the powerful blows can get through. Big round for Nina here as she takes back the lead.
Round 5:
Stella like an Amazon Queen as it’s her turn to charge out of corner, oblivious to Nina’s offense and damage inflicted on her face the last time. Now she’s the one sticking her right hand into Nina’s cheek over and over, using her speed and agility to beat Nina to the punch, quite literally waiting until Nina swings a big hook her way, then sneakily jamming a jab at lightning speed into Nina’s face. Nina eating leather this way, but the pain doesn’t seem to stop her determined advance on Maxwell. She takes advantage of Stella’s caution and wades in recklessly, a gamble especially when Stella’s flinging multiple punches her way. Round hits the second minute and risky move has desired effect: Maxwell’s surprised, unaccustomed to Nina getting in her face. Stella getting her body hugged in close by enclosing arms - before she knows how to respond the Brit starts getting knocked about with heavy, dull puh puh puhh to one side of the ear, then her sides start to throb and wobble when Nina digs her fists up into her flank. Nina smiling smugly as she keeps out of harm’s way for the rest of the round, enjoying watching the other blonde squirm and flail in her embrace. Nina manages to shove her to the ropes at the last second but is unable to work her over when the bell ends the party early. Stella left panting for air as she tries to recover, and Nina can't help but blow her an air kiss and lightly stroking her tummy, as she turns around to saunter back to her corner. Large scowl on Stella’s face at the insinuation, but the blonde should be plenty proud of giving Nina trouble so early and still managing to keep up the pressure in the fifth.

Nina still smirking at the bell, thinks she’s got this fight in the bag, especially when she eyes Stella still panting and heaving as she rises from her stool. Taunting from the Vixen in the opening seconds as she gestures at her foe with both gloves “Come on, little fly…” to which Stella goes red-faced, raises her gloves and strides forward in mixture of rage and embarrassment. Nina swings her textbook right hook as girls get in range, but IT MISSES, sailing over the ‘little fly’s’ head. Athlete that Nina is, she doesn't skip a beat, following up with left hook that ALSO misses. Stella moving and weaving like a dust devil, avoiding the swings and then BURYING her fist into Nina’s paunch. The Vixen clearly did not expect *that*, mouth hangs open as she’s rooted in the spot by more chopping hands that just fold her over. Stella hissing as she wraps left arm around back of Nina’s neck, right glove PACKING into the stomach over and over: “HUNGRY FOR MORE B*TCH??” to which Nina merely mewing and groaning as she tries to shove off and get out of danger. When that doesn't work, Nina wrestles forward again - it worked for her in the past after all. And it has desired effect - Stella growling in frustration as her arms tangled up by Nina, and the Danish model succeeds in stopping her body abuse and now slowly shoving Stella backwards to the ropes. “F*CKING ‘ELL, NINA. FIGHT MMMUUGGH--” Stella fighting back with words hissed in Nina’s ear, but suddenly cut off by dull under hooks slamming into her stomach down below, allowing Nina to finally pin her against the ropes and hold her there in place with her own body. Girls catching their breath, hot air on each other’s cheek as they figure out their next move. Stella finally struggling spontaneously, getting her arms inside and managing to break the snake hold over her chest. Nina too weak to resist by this point, manages a last ditch attempt to pull back and then SWING another hook at Stella’s head. But then Stella side-steps and swings to her right, dodging wild hook and countering with hook of her own into the blonde’s face! Nina beats a hasty retreat backwards - she looks hurt and about to go down! Nina stumbles all the way to the other corner, hanging onto the ropes and about to collapse, but the bell rings just before Stella can charge in after her. Stella comes back into contention in glorious fashion, but the Brit cursing out loud as she knows this was her chance to score a knockdown but it eluded her. Looks like this fight’s going the distance, folks!
Round 7:
You know what they say - when the fight lasts past the sixth round, you have a slobber knocker on your hands. Nina and Stella effectively launch themselves back at each other, shrieking and grunting, but it looks like a draw for the first minute as they each attempt to capitalize on the other’s weakness of the previous round. Stella going out guns blazing, doesn't look drained from her exertion in the sixth. Likewise, Nina hoping to stem the bleeding right here and blunt the British girl’s momentum, and the result is a wild brawl in the middle of the canvas as they take turns violating face and body, just jamming gloves into every crevice they can find. Second minute sees them realize they can’t take this mutual abuse much longer - they clinch forward, looking for some respite, but look even more disgusted when their opponent’s face comes within kissing range. Scowl immediately forms on faces instead, as they find a renewed resolve to slam gloves straight up into the chin and tummy. For a moment it looks like another effective draw of a round as both fighters continue wrestle back-and-forth pushing and shoving, but then Nina weaves suddenly backwards and avoids a BIG hook from Stella - roles reversed as Stella suddenly looks wide with surprise as her hand misses her target - some aspect of those eyes can sense what’s coming next - BIGGER counter uppercut from Agdal sails up and under, CRASHES into the poor girl’s chin and sends her flying off her feet and backwards! Maxwell lets out dull grunt as her back hits the canvas in brutal KNOCKDOWN from Nina Agdal!!
Referee takes one look at Stella’s drooling face and knows it’s over. So do the fans apparently - they’re on their feet as Nina celebrates with a relieved raise of her hand, acknowledging yet another impressive win in the ring over a hard-fought victory.

AFTER:
Stella looking dejected as she recovers in her corner. The Brit putting on a strong performance tonight but her recent successes in the ring have been anything but: simply strong performances against stronger opponents. She knows she needs to get some representation fast in order to compete seriously, or these losses are sure to take a toll on her psyche. For now though, Maxwell sounds adamant that she’ll be back in the ring soon. “I had her for a few moments back there. F*ck,” is all the blonde can muster, holding back tears, but then there’s a look of defiance on her face. “I’ll fight Nina again - that’s for sure. For now, let me face someone like Cara F*cking Delevingne.”
It could be the fact that Ms Agdal is coming off an impressive 11-fight winning streak, putting away those initial doubts from her naysayers since that first day she set foot in the ring. “Stella put up some resistance, for sure,” the Danish girl comments to reporters later, still beaming. “But hey, even a pest like Maxwell has some lucky days. Let’s make one thing clear: I won, and I’m coming for you in this tourney, Lima. You can’t hide from me forever…”
And there you have it: pride coming before the fall, ladies and gentlemen? Or does Agdal truly deserve the title shot at this point? Pundits split in their opinion, however some agreeing that her title shot is long overdue, whilst others less than impressed with her performance here tonight, saying she doesn’t stand a chance against the Queen of the Ice Hotel, much less a certain Ms Brooklyn Decker, who seems to be back in the thick of action and looking to make her mark on the Lightweight division yet again. With her return to the ring just a few days ago and Agdal’s first loss to Ms Decker one pesky stain she can’t seem to get people to forget, the rematch at the end of August between these two lovely ladies will definitely be a one to watch!
