TESS VALMORE
Once again, I present my much reviled predictions for the upcoming PPV. As usual it is littered with unjustified criticism, cheap shots and unflattering comments. In my last series of predictions I went 50-17 bringing my total to 919-279.
J. L COLEMAN/KENDRICK Kendrick has a fine record, however Coleman is much better. Coleman is 3-1 on the year, while Kendrick is 2-1. Both of their losses were to Portman. This should be a good fight. Coleman will win by a KO
THIRWALL/E. HENSTRIDGE Henstridge had won all five of her bouts this year after beating Song in May and she has won six straight. Thirwall has had three fights so far, winning them all by KOs. Henstridge has fought the better competition. Thirwall will lose her first FCBA bout. Henstridge by a TKO
TERRELL/PRICE JMD
KENDALL JENNER/R. HALL I said Kendall Jenner was high on the Daily Mail No Talent Index, however I never said she couldn’t fight. She has been very busy this year winning seven of her eight fights. This will be Hall’s first FCBA fight. She has had success in the BBU, but other than that I don’t know much about her. Jenner continues her wins by a KO
AMBROSIO/MENARD Ambrosio has won five of her six fights this year. Menard has had two FCBA fights and hasn’t lasted past the fifth round. One of her losses was to Peregrym. Ambrosio’s only loss was also to Peregrym. I don’t think Menard will do much better than she already has. Ambrosio by a KO
G. ATKINSON/MICHELLE RYAN Atkinson held the title earlier this year, losing it to Ferguson in March. She has won seven of her last eight. Ryan is 2-1 on the year. I have Atkinson ranked at 2 in the welters and Ryan at 7. Not only is Atkinson’s record better, she has fought far better competition. Atkinson by a KO
KLOSS/RHODA Rhoda now has a 10-1 record with her only loss being to Ferguson in a title bout. I have her ranked at five in the welters. Kloss is no slouch having a 8-2 record with her losses coming to Atkinson and Righetti. I have her ranked a six. This is a contender’s fight. Winner should get a title fight. I think this is a 50-50 bout, but I will go with Rhoda to win
G. HADID/LEONE Hadid is another member of the Daily Mail NO Talent Index. Hadid has not exactly set the FCBA on fire. She has a losing record. If her record is not good, Leone’s is worse. Of course, Leone fights in the BBU so I have no idea who she is or what she can do I have to go with Hadid by default.
LARSON/VANDERVOORT DO I have this right? Larson has had only one fight? She beat Frege. Not exactly what I would term a monumental accomplishment. Vandervoort is a competent veteran who has been in the ring 67 times. She has had a rough time recently losing four of her last five. I am going to have to go with experience. Vandervoort by a decision
GADOT/PREJEAN Gadot has had three FCBA fights and lost them all. She is best remembered for being chosen by Miss Ginny for a title fight at the time she was ranked something way below 100. A gimme for Lively. Prejean is known for…… well not much. Not only is she not a good fighter, she is being trained by McCarthy. Talk about the kiss of death. If Gadot doesn’t win this fight, it means she has no business in the FCBA. As for Prejean, she needs to fight Frege in a loser leaves the FCBA bout. That fight would put about two fans in the seats
HALE/E. CLARKE This will be Clarke’s third fight of the year She won her first two She has a 5-4 record in the FCBA. Hale is one of those fighters who overcame a terrible start to become a pretty good fighter, build a winning record and win a title. I think this will be Hale’s first fight of the year after being active last year. I have to go with Hale to win by a KO
BELLISARIO/LILLY Lilly is an unfortunate case. She was on her way to the Hall of Fame with a great record and six unified titles. Then in 2013, everything changed. She ceased being very active and since then she has a 8-8 record She still has a Hall Of Fame winning ratio, but at 38, the chance of getting enough fights and maintaining a winning percentage seem remote. Bellisario held the title earlier this year, losing it to VanCamp in May. She has a 4-1 record this year. A couple years ago, I would have said Lilly hands down. Now I have to go the other way. Bellisario by a TKO
BENSOM/MERNA JMD
ORRANTIA/EVE Orrantia is now 4-4 after getting flattened by Evigan in May. Eve hasn’t been very active in the recent past having three fights in four years. The layoff will hurt her. Orrantia by a KO
O. HOLT/LEVY Is there something wrong with this picture? Front Street’s numero uno flyweight, you know the one with the great record, gets to fight a newbie in the comfort of the Asylum later this month, while Levy draws a suddenly blossoming opponent. Holt has beaten Emilia Clark and Dobrev in the last two PPV’s Levy lost in the April Asylum. I called it an upset but management disagreed with me. I think Levy will lose this bout and this time it won't be an upset.
M. KELLY/C. HOLT Holt was a ranked fighter until she had a very rough stretch last year, when she lost all five of her bouts. She returned to action in the June PPV by flattening Dobrev. Kelly is one of the best bantams going. She lost a title match to VanCamp in June. This should be a good bout. Kelly has beaten Holt once before. She will do it again. Kelly by a KO
KEEGAN/SCAGLIOTTI Keegan broke a four fight losing streak by beating Scerbo in March (I didn’t enjoy that fight) Scagliotti is on a three fight win streak but hasn’t fought in over two years. I have to go with the active fighter. Keegan by a KO
PALLET/BILSON Pallet is coming in winning four of her last five. Bilson hasn’t been very active in the last two years and has lost her last five. I think Pallet will make the losing streak go to six. Pallet by a KO
HALLIWELL/CHABERT Oh please, Halliwell has had three fights in the last two years and won two of them Chabert used to be a good fighter, however she has lost six of her last eight. Now, you have to realize her opponent is old enough to by my mother. Halliwell is now 45. If Chabert can’t beat someone who is already receiving mail from AARP, she should retire. Chabert by a KO
KAJLICH/KROES I thought I had seen Kroes fight recently but I can’t find it if there was one. According to the records, she has had only one FCBA fight and that was last year which she lost to Taylor Cole. Kajlich is one of those fighters who could have been good had she gotten management. As it is, she does have a winning record with ten fights in six years. What bothers me is that she lost to G. Hadid last year. I am going to take a chance on Kajlich to win by a KO
STRIJD/HOGAN Strijd is another one of those models who have been invading the FCBA. She was in one of those newcomer tournaments. She didn’t win. I see Hogan around Nashville every now and then. I don’t know her and I can’t say she is one of my favorites She has won all three of her bouts this year. I have no doubt that she will win and maybe convince Strijd that this is not her game.
STRAHOVSKI/M. KERR It’s no secret that Strahovski is one of the best lightweights. She won her first four bouts this year but has lost her last two to Lima and her long time rival. Winstead, who is now champion. Kerr is also a top ten lightweight and as far as I know is undefeated in eight fights. I am going to go with Strahovski to return to form and win. Why? Because she is one of my favorites and she is blonde
HUDGENS/E, WATSON Hudgens is a usual top ten flyweight who is having a somewhat off 2017 as she is 2-2. Watson has won four of her last six. Her last two wins were over C. Cole and L. Collins Not shabby. I am going to have to go with Hudgens however. Hudgens by a KO
L. COLLINS/TISDALE. Collins is one of the more exciting recent imports from the BBU and has won seven of her last eight. Tisdale is a veteran who has been inactive recently having only one fight in the last nineteen months and she lost that one. I don’t see her giving Collins much of a fight. Collins by a KO
LYNCH/D. THORNE Lynch has had a successful year and a half in the FCBA winning eight of ten and has won all five of her bouts this year.. This will be Thorne’s first fight of the year. She has a 2-1 record. Lynch should win this bout by a KO
LOPILATO/A. WILLIAMS Lopilato is an upcoming bantam who has won seven of her nine bouts with one loss being to a highly regarded lightweight/welter. Williams is a great match for her if she is looking for a win. No so good if she is looking for a fight. Williams has had four fights and won none. She hasn’t finished a fight. Lopilato by a KO
M. FOX/S. MILLER Miller has won seven of her last eight although her competition has been on the light side. She did beat Fox last year I know that Fox took the title from Portman. I know that she has won six straight, but I don’t think she will be a strong champion. That said, Miller will be looking for her third title. I don’t think she will get it. Despite my opinion of Fox, I think she will win this bout.
VANCAMP/SCODELARIO For the bantam title. Scodelario is on a six fight win streak and apparently won a title shot with a huge win over the dynamic Frege (pardon the sarcasm) This will be VanCamp’s second defense of her third title. She shouldn’t have much trouble. Van Camp by a KO
LIMA/WINSTEAD. For the lightweight title. No analysis here. I keep on saying Lima is going to lose. She keeps on winning. The odds are now in my favor. Besides I like Winstead more. ,The odds finally pay off. Winstead will be the new champ
UPTON/LAWLEY I have to ask how did Lawley got this fight? She hasn’t fought in almost a year. Yeah, she has a good record. but who has she beat? Lawrence?. Yes. but Lawrence is a lightweight who was six inches shorter. OK so Lawley is the Godzilla of the FCBA. Size doesn’t matter. At least, that’s what Smackey keeps telling me. In this case I have to agree. Upton by a KO
