Announcement: VIX: Occupational Hazards (July PPV)
July 15th brings another VIX card coming to you live from the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles, just a few blocks away from VIX Headquarters itself. Not to be confused with the famed theatre of the same name in Manhattan, New York, California’s version is more well-known for its musical gigs and the home of Golden Boy Boxing Promotions, who have graciously allowed us use of the venue for the evening.
On our themed fight card for the night, we have 10 girls lined up for some office-clearing action, as they go head-to-head with past acquaintances and newly-formed rivalries in the workplace. Aptly named VIX: Occupational Hazards, allow us to introduce the fighters for the evening:
Official Fight-Card:
1. Megan Fox vs Isabel Lucas (Flyweight Non-Title)
Megan:
(31, 5’4, 114, 27:23:1 FCBA, VIXENs/Mirage)
Isabel:
(32, 5’6, FCBA Debut, Free Agent)
Preamble: These lovely ladies first clashed on the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, with lots of people remembering that Ms Lucas presented the first real competition to Megan Fox’s dominating sex appeal for the franchise. Fanboys everywhere were clamouring for a showdown between the two girls, and director Michael Bay certainly delivered. You can view the movie clip here: tinyurl.com/y7dbz6bt
In real-life, it didn't help that tabloids continued with headlines such as ‘Megan Who? Meet the Australian Actress Who Will Dethrone the Goddess’ and on-set rumours of Isabel spending some private time with their mutual co-star, Shia Labeouf, on the pretence of ‘rehearsing lines’, sending Megan Fox into fits of rage, as she was the one who was supposed to be dating Labeouf at that time.
Details are sketchy, but apparently there was a brief confrontation between the two girls, words bandied but a shoving match avoided by the intervention of the army of personnel on set. Sources however say that in the end, Megan Fox’s famous line, ‘Kiss this, b*tch!’ was not entirely fictional but based on real life sentiments at that time.
Megan Fox, disregarding her new status as Flyweight Champion, jumped at the chance to have a proper showdown with Isabel Lucas, and on July 15th, both girls get another chance to brawl, this time for real.
2. Emily Ratajkowski vs Sara Jean Underwood (Bantamweight)
Emily:
(25, 5’7, 120, 7:7 FCBA, VIXENs)
Sara-Jean:
(33, 5’3, 3:12 FCBA, Beever’s Babes US)
Preamble: Ahh… who doesn't love those Carl’s Jr ads featuring skimpily-dressed models of our time? Our very own Hannah Ferguson had her own knockout moment washing a car in a bikini, and so have the likes of Kate Upton and Charlotte McKinney, taking turns at turning heads.
However, we have to say that Emily Ratajkowski and Sara-Jean Underwood’s TV spot (which you can find here: tinyurl.com/nlh97a5) holds a special place in our hearts.
Whilst both girls definitely put on a mutually-convincing case to go and get yourself fed a burger by a gorgeous woman, not many know the true story: that these girls truly hated each other’s guts, resenting the fact that they had to share on screen-time with another actress. In fact, you can see in that scene where the climax of tensions on set were, at the point where both girls began jockeying over each other for a better, more dominating position (Sara’s thighs finally straddling Emily’s waist in an obvious show of who’s the boss here), before the director simply threw up his hands and said, “I give up. Let them at each other…. But first, put a f*cking burger in each of their hands.”
But that's another story, for another time. Come mid-July, both girls reunite for a showdown in the ring. Sara-Jean in particular glad to return to the ring from a long hiatus to take on this upstart model. Emily herself suffering from a painful loss to the current Bantamweight champion, wanting to restart an old rivalry to prove she’s still relevant. Which burger shall prevail??
3. Alexis Ren vs Cailin Russo (Lightweight)
Alexis:
(21, 5’9, 9:2 FCBA, VIXENs)
Cailin:
(23, 5’7, FCBA Debut, Free Agent)
Preamble: To many, the world of social media is a dark and mysterious place - one wrong click at the wrong time might send you spiralling into depression for the rest of your life from your 15 minutes of infamy. Not so for the younger generation of course, and particularly not a concern for Ms Alexis Ren, who has quickly amassed a legion of followers on Instagram by posting whatever the f*ck she wants and not taking sh*it for any it. Thankfully, that means plenty of skin-baring shots of Ms Ren in ungodly positions, but also plenty of drama with arising from open-air dissing of other rising social media starlets... like someone called Cailin Russo…
Take this screenshot for example, taken from Ren’s blog:
For the uninitiated, Cailin Russo is another rising profile in the business, not as popular or on the level of Alexis, but the young Californian blonde is quickly earning some fame for herself by modeling for the same companies that Alexis has before, and also charming the rest of the Internet with her own brand of little-miss-nice-but-still-smokin’-hot girl photographs on social media (www.instagram.com/cailinrusso)
But only recently was Alexis bombarded by fans with questions relating to Russo, the blonde finally getting fed up with the relentless comparisons about who’s hotter than the other. Enough was enough, she decided, and a request was sent out to Cailin’s corner to see whether she had the guts to get in the ring with her to settle this dispute for the fans once and for all.
Cailin of course accepted, more honoured and intrigued than anything - the fight presents a big platform for her to break into the limelight if she manages to hold her own again someone like Alexis Ren, and more, if she actually etches out a win on Saturday night.
4. Guests: Taylor Hill vs Monika Jagaciak (Welterweight)
Taylor:
(20, 5’10, 1:0 FCBA, Free Agent)
Monika:
(23, 5’11, 0:1 FCBA, Free Agent)
Preamble: Our guest-fight of the evening brings in two Victoria’s Secret angels to brawl, as anyone knows, when you bring the world’s most gorgeous, admired and envied females to converge at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, you are bound to see some sparks flying backstage… And apparently, Taylor Hill and Monika ‘Jac’ Jagaciak were two Angels who *really* couldn't stand each other behind the cameras.
Taylor of course doing well in the ring the last time VIX held a scouting event, taking advantage of Natalie Roser and putting her down by KO. Monika’s experience in the ring equally successful by standards, only losing out to another Angel, Barbara Palvin thus far, but vowing to step back into the ring as soon as she could, and what better motivation to do so against a hated rival like Taylor?
The story goes that the girls’ rivalry started when Monika voiced her displeasure that Taylor was unfairly hogging the limelight in one particular group photoshoot, made worse when she discovered that the younger girl was in her allocated spot and ‘ordered’ her to ‘move her fat ass’. Eyewitnesses say Taylor was more shocked than angry, but there were some choice words exchanged on the spot with tempers finally boiling over, and both girls eventually had to be held back by their respective pals before the shoot devolved Into a full-on catfight. Online commenters speculating that that's the reason why you clearly see two groups of girls trying to stay clear of each other in this shot here, with (from the left) Elsa Hosk, Monika Jagaciak, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd and Lais Ribeiro hogging the left, whilst Taylor Hill, Stella Maxwell, Sara Sampaio, Jasmine Tookes & Kate Grigorieva clearly best buds on the right.
Come July, Monika and Taylor get a real chance to clear the air and settle the workplace pecking order.
5. Hannah Ferguson vs Kelly Rohrbach (Welterweight)
Hannah:
(24, 5’9, 130, 12:3 FCBA, VIXENs)
Kelly:
(27, 5’9, 125, 10:2 FCBA, VIXENs)
Preamble: Our last match of the evening sees some VIXENs dirty laundry washed in public which, when if you think about it, doesn’t happen as often as it should considering the number of girls with dynamite-personalities on our roster. Trouble has certainly been brewing between top girls Hannah Ferguson and Kelly Rohrbach for a while now, ever since Rohrbach officially joined the organization in December and Hannah openly questioning the merits of her new Welterweight colleague.
Second reason for this clash might be because both these girls recently suffered losses to a certain Kate Upton, upsetting the pecking order within VIX ranks and rumour has it Rohrbach has her eye on the top position after Upton exposed some chinks in Hannah’s armor.
“She’s proven herself to be vulnerable, and I intend to take advantage of that,” Kelly confidently stating to reporters, along with the final reason for the Vixen requesting this match-up with her fellow stablemate: “I just can’t freaking stand her guts.”
So there you have it: five matches scheduled for ten rounds each, promising to be a night of explosive in-ring action as well as real-life drama.
We hope to see you there on July 15th!
