Welterweight champion Tahnee Atkinson will defend her title in May against Solveig Mork Hansen! And our challenger's stablemate seems to have pushed Camille Kostek back into the general pool to be Tahnee's challenger for Queen of the Beach in July! Can Camille claw her way back? And can anyone do the same to Upton? It's certainly going to be fun finding out!

Most FCBA women who've been in the ring with Upton haven't had any luck "clawing" her way back...maybe those facing her in JMDD should look for target(s) closer at hand?

Most FCBA women who've been in the ring with Upton haven't had any luck "clawing" her way back...maybe those facing her in JMDD should look for target(s) closer at hand? It's always a tough choice for managers. Certainly, there are some fighters who are more challenging to take down at this stage of their careers, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get challenged. For example, Amanda Righetti is a VERY hard out, but if Tahnee Atkinson hadn't challenged her, then she wouldn't have the opportunity at the welterweight title where she did take down Kate Upton and reset the welterweight division in the process. Will Amanda get back in the title picture? I'm sure, but it's not automatic anymore and the welterweight division is better off for it, in my opinion, although Amanda may feel differently.
Another good example would be Vanessa Hudgens versus Michelle Williams. We were told by several managers back in the day that Vanessa Hudgens would not have a chance at success against Michelle Williams, but she upset her. Twice, in fact and once for the flyweight title to start off what we consider to be one of our favorite rivalries in the FCBA and if we'd looked for 'other targets', it would've never happened. Now, of course, Vanessa is being challenged by more up and coming flyweights to keep the cycle going in the FCBA to tell some more amazing stories and keep exciting, thrilling rivalries flowing.
So, my advice would be, if you have a rival or rivalry you want to see, give it a shot. Will you be successful and result in an upset the first time out? Maybe not, but you just might. If you have a rivalry you want to see, go for it and don't wait for the right moment. Upsets can and do happen. To paraphrase one of my favorite movies, "“When you realize you want to spend the rest of your FCBA career in a rivalry with somebody, you want the rest of your rivalry to start as soon as possible.”
