Before: “I thought we ought to do something special for the 25th Anniversary and this is what Yvonne and I came up with,” Jennifer Garner explains to the press. “We thought a 12 round fight would be unique. I think nearly all the previous 12 rounders were extra rounds to avoid a draw. Of course, we could still end up in a ‘Tractorpull Special’ but I think the odds would be against it.”
Yvonne smiles: “Personally, I would settle for a Round 1 KO win and then I would be in great shape for the Lookout Post-PPV party.”
“That is assuming you would be the one getting the KO1,” Jen pointed out, “I’m thinking I would be the one celebrating at the Foxfire Post-PPV party.”
“Now, Jen, if did something like that, think of how disappointed the fans would be. They want to see us go the distance. I know I can do it. Are you up to it, Jen”
“ Beat you that Jaguar Tournament Finals. I can do it again,” Jen said simply.
“That was in 2022. Time is marching on,” Yvonne said with a sly sly.
“It marches on you, too, Yvonne I’m ready,” Jen assured her.
They shook hands and posed for the photographers. Then they next face off in the ring as the excited prepares to watch them fight. Jen removes her robe to show off a black one piece swimsuit with white gloves and boots (back laces). Jen’s hair is loose but wetted down. Yvonne is in light purple one piece with dark purple boots and gloves (light purple laces), her hair is pulled back in a battle braid. The referee smoothly goes through the instructions. Jen and Yvonne tap their gloves and then adjourn to their respective corners. Pause. DING!
R1: Jen and Vonnie out quickly to mid ring and there is fast punching exchange to the head and face. Then a pause and they move at each other again. Jen going for Yvonne’s midsection with steady series of hooks, while Yvonne is trying to get at Jen’s head. Yvonne moving around, tryig to find a good punching spot while Jen tries o move with her, Then Vonnie finds her opening and drives home a hard right off Jen’s chin and then a left to the chin quickly follows. Jen staggered, tries to twist away, but Yvonne now pounding her hard in the flanks ribs Jen has to turn away from this and Yvonne hangs with her popping in shots to the head and body. Then finally able to duck away and buy herself a few moments to recuperate. However Yvonne is not long in coming at Jen again, but this time she jabbed hard in the face and clipped on the chin as Jens defenses now strong. Yvonne goes to side and attacks Jen to the flank once again. Jen trying fight this off and finally bangs Yvonne hard with a right to the head that stalls the attack. Jen falls back and sets up to await the next Yvonne charge, but time runs out. Close round, but Yvonne Strahovsky wins it.
R2: New round begins and this time Yvonne finding Jennifer bobbing and weaving, not so good a target as last round. Yvonne not given much time to ponder her reaction as Jen suddenly goes on the offensive. Yvonne struck to the jaw by a head snapping right hand and then knocked back the other way by follow-up left. Yvonne now retreats with her mitts u tight around her head Jen going to the body with a steady stream of punishing hooks that have Yvonne bent over and allows Jen to fire shots up into Vonnie’s breasts. Yvonne trying to backpedal away under fire from Jen as the round ends. Jen Grner wins the round wide
R3: Action resumes as Yvonne and Jen clash at mid ring. Blows to the jaw, chin and sides of the head are exchanged in a fast punching action. Yvonne seems to rattle Jen with a right/left combination off Jen’ jaw and then Yvonne unexpectedly strikes to Jen’s belly. Jen responds to Yvonne’s belly and there is a punishing back and forth exchange of belly bangers. Both hunched up from these, but still punching to the body. Then Jen shift gears and whacks away at Yvonne to the jaw. Yvonne now stumbling backwards, but manages to stay on her feet. Yvonne gets her dukes back up and is trying to counter t Jen’s body as the round ends. Round goes to Jen Garner again, but it was much closer this time.
R4: The new round begins with Jen and Yvonne warily circling each other at mid ring and then they both move towards each other. Sharp exchange to the head leaves Jen lurching backwards. Yvonne advances with a steady series of body and head shots that keep Jennifer on the defensive. Jen trying to mount a counterattack, but Yvonne able to strike first and she connects to Jen’s chin. Jen is knocked back again and again. Yvonne maintains the pressure to the bell and wins the round easily.
R5: Jennifer movng quickly as the round begins to put the pressure on Yvonne. Yvonne hit first to the rib cage and abs with a series of powerful hooks. These are forcing Yvonne to hunch up and strike back at Jen to the body. Then Jennifer unleashes a sustained attack first swiveling Yvonne’s head with rights and lefts to the jaw and then a series of uppercuts to knock her chin back. Yvonne suddenly wobbling and trying to get her mitts up to cover head, but Jen lobs in a big overhand right that strikes Yvonne between the eyes. DOWN GOES YVONNE! Yvonne sits down with a thud and has to use her right hand to keep herself upright. Jen has departed for the neutral corner. The referee counts. Yvonne steadies herself and then gingerly starts to rise. She struggles to keep her balance as the count rises, but then she is able to stand just as the referee says “EIGHT!” The fight soon resumes, but Yvonne now very defensive and gives Jen little to work with except her sides. Jen works these, but without follow-up success. However the knockdown assures her a wide win of the round.
R6: Out they come for the new round and both fighters are eager to seize control of the round. Jen and Yvonne open with head shots, but this time Yvonne is able to get hers in faster and harder. Jen is banged up hard to the jaw and side of the head. Yvonne then goes for the chin, but Jen slams home a left off Vonnie’s chin first. Vonnie is knocked to one side by the impact but turns and clouts Jen an uppercut to her chin. Now Jen is falling back and Vonnie springs after her. She uses the overhand rights and lefts to pummel Jen’s face. Jen gets her gloves up to block this and now Yvonne goes to the body. She drives her hooks deep into Jen’s midsection and Jen stumbles back towards the ropes. Jen loses her balance and her arms flail wildly and Yvonne now gets in a late uppercut DOWN SPILLS JEN GARNER! Jen on her back with a stunned look on her face. Yvonne heads for the neutral corner. Referee is counting as jen uses nearby rope to oull herself into a sitting position. She breathes hard and then manages to rise in time to break the referee’s count at “NINE!” Close call means Jen takes no further chances in thr time remaining, She does full turtle defense and Yvonne is unable to mount a follow up. However, Yvonne has answered Jennifer R6 with a knockdown in R7 and a round won wide.
R7: Bell sounds and Yvonne is out of her corner much quicker than Jennifer. Yvonne comes in hard and fast. She feints a head shot but buries her right in into Jen’s gut. Jen jackknifed at the waist and Yvonne goes all-out to the body in the follow up. Jen unable to do anything more than try to back away from Yvonne. Yvonne not letting Jen get away. She proceeds to cut off the ring and then punch Jen back into the ropes. Jen huddles there, face in gloves while Yvonne seems determined to break Jennifer down to the body, She works Jen over from chest to belly and back again over and over. Jen is writhing under the impacts, but her legs are braced and she is still up at the bell. Round is a shutout win for Yvonne Strahovski. Jennifer looks gray-faced and rubbery legged as she heads back for her corner. Yvonne breathing quite hard herself, clearly having put a lot of energy into the beat down.
R8: Intense work in the Foxfire corner as Jennifer sits there speaking quietly with FCBSA lightweight Trainer Rachel Nichols. Then time runs out and Jen pulls herself together to exit her corner. She sees Yvonne heading towards, looking eager to resume the beating.. Jen puts up her dukes and looks ready to just wait for Yvonne to come, but as Vonnie comes within range, Jen suddenly leaps forward and comes smashing down with crushing right into Yvonne’s face. Yvonne reels back with blood spurting from her nose. Jen following up with thunderbolt rights and lefts to the head. Yvonne smashed hard by these blows. She gets her gloves up close to her head to shield herself from further head trauma, but now Jen is vengefully going after Yvonne to the body. Jen using Yvonne’s torso like the heavy bag in the gym and she is driving the blonde back into the ropes. Now Yvonne is one shuddering under the leather fury that is ravaging her breasts, then her ribs and then her stomach. Over and over Jen gives Yvonne a taste of the torment she endured. Yet, like Jen herself, Yvonne does endure the fearful pounding as is still on her feet at the bell. Yvonne looking shell shocked leave the ropes Both are dripping with sweat as hey trudge to their corners, but Jennifer encouraged by winning his round in a shutout , mathing Yvonne’s R7.
R9: Now both corners find themselves struggling to get fighters out for the new round. It is hardly a surprise when the bell sounds and both fighters are moving slowly from their corners. However once they are within range, they seem to get a surge of energy and the punching starts. They both seem to have the same idea: go after those tormented torsos and try to break the other down. So they are toe to toe and heaving the short rights and lefts. Gurgling groans are soon heard as the battle rages on. Jen and Yvonne faces twisted with effort as they just keep punching while the sweat rolls down. Then Jen seems to find just the right the spot. She hammers it over and over and Yvonne has pull away with a groan of pain, Jen then adds a right/left to Yvonne’s jaw, Yvonne fires a right into Jen’s right eye. Jen flinches but hooks Yvonne in the belly just as the bell rings. Result is a narrow win for Jennifer Garner.
R10: Once again Yvonne and Jennifer are slow to go out. The strain of the long fight is now showing, but, once again, they suck it up and start punching. Yvonne looks to going after Jen to the head Her opening shots strike the sides of Jen’s head and then she tries to follow up to the jaw. Jen going after Yvonnels chin again, but her blows don’t seem to have their earlier power. Yvonne is showing reduced power as well, but seems to be trying to make it up with the sheer number of her punches. Jen struggling to counter the same way, but Yvonne’s forcing her to retreat and cover up. Now Yvonne swings her attention to the body and whacks away Jen responds but she is the one slowly being pushed back. They battle to the bell and then turn away for the long walk to their corners on shaky legs. Comes back close but with Yvonne Strahovski get a narrow win.
R11: Now the fighters enter unknown territory as they go into the first of two extra rounds. Will it make a difference. They are said to be currently tied in points. Given the back and forth nature of the fight so far it would not be a surprise if the draw continued, though such a result is what neither veteran ring warrior would like.
The Foxfire and Lookout corner teams have done their best. The bell rings. Jen and Yvonne do show a bit of extra energy as they come forward and the leather starts flying once they get within range. Jennifer immediately going to the body. Yvonne seems to prefer trying to get Jennifer with more head punching. Jen getting hit, but she is doing her best to didge and blunt these so she can keep going after Yvonne’s body. Yvonne is largely blocked from her head attack, so now she joins Jen in the body battle of attrition, but Jen’s found hat sweet spot again and pounds it to send Yvonne into a shuddering retreat. The bell sounds before Jennifer can follow up, but it is enough to give her a narrow win on points.
R12: At last the final round has been reached. Both fighters look badly banged up and weary, but their corners work on them. When the bell sounds, they both come out and show a final burst of reserve energy as they charge each other. Jennifer swings for the body, but Yvonne is dodging away from these punches and throwing counters at Jen’s head. Jen determined to get back in close, tries to fight her way through Yvonne’s defenses, but Yvonne finally lands a big explosive right against Jen’s jaw. Jen spins away from the blow. Yvonne leaps after and lands a second right and Jen’s feet become entangled. DOWN GOES JEN GARNER. Jen on her face looking dismayed as she realizes what’s happened. Yvonne gets to the neutral corner and looks back. Referee is counting. Jen is pushing herself up into a crouch and from there she rises to break the count at “EIGHT!” The fight resumes. Jen knows the knockdown is bad for her chances that her remaining hope is for a knockout. She charges at Yvonne and they have a furious exchange of head shots, but neither is able to land the finishing blow. The bell sounds. They keep punching until referee breaks it up.
Then the two are standing with the referee in the middle ring and then decision comes. YVONNE STRAHOVSKI HAS WON UD12!
The referee raises a weary but smiling Yvonne arm as the crowd cheers. Vonnie glances over at Jen who is standing there with a numb expression, but tears are rolling down her bruised cheeks. Vonnie now turns and gives Jen a big hug (which pleases the crowd). Jen returns the hug and then walks to her own corner.
That was certainly a battle that should be long remembered by FCBA fans. Two veterans gave it everything they had in a long, long bout. It seemed to go back and forth the whole way with Yvonne Strahovski able to pull out the win the final round. Of course, it was a sad loss for Jennifer Garner, though she should at least have the consolation that it took Yvonne 12 rounds to beat her.

That was certainly a battle that should be long remembered by FCBA fans. Two veterans gave it everything they had in a long, long bout. It seemed to go back and forth the whole way with Yvonne Strahovski able to pull out the win the final round. Of course, it was a sad loss for Jennifer Garner, though she should at least have the consolation that it took Yvonne 12 rounds to beat her.
