The scene is set on a rooftop bar at twilight, with the city lights beginning to twinkle. Zooey is lounging on a designer chair. The Mysterious Blonde Woman, a young Renee Zellweger in a striking dress, walks up to her.
Zooey: (with a charming smile) You look nice, that’s a nice dress.
Blonde: (graciously) Thank you.
Zooey: Models get the best clothes, I should have been a model when I was your age.
Blonde: (with a smirk) You're not tall enough.
Zooey’s smile doesn't waver, but her eyes harden slightly.
Zooey: How are you going to explain being gone for so long?
Blonde: (leaning in closer) Business and pleasure, darling. I manage both well. Livvy’s got the shop, she's a whiz with the books.
Zooey: All of that merch, So, we’re still on for this wild weekend? Can I count on you?
Blonde: (assertively) I’m here aren’t I? Some of the other girls are here. The rest will be here.
Zooey leans in, her voice low and suggestive.
Zooey: Hey, remember, this is about you, not me. You are only taking back the house that you built.
Blonde: (biting her lip) I know, but...
Zooey cuts her off, her tone playful yet edged with a hint of threat.
Zooey: And we’ll get you that shot at Upton this year. Then it’s ‘Upton’ you? Ha! See what I did there?
The Blonde forces a smile, clearly not finding the humor.
Blonde: Um... yeah, that’s funny, I guess. Zooey stands, her demeanor casual yet commanding.
Zooey: Whatever… Just be there, it won’t be a party without you.
The Blonde squints, her annoyance now clear, mirroring Zooey’s words.
Blonde: (firmly) Make sure YOU'RE there.
The scene ends with both women gazing out at the city
