Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching football at Bazz with Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "So, Wiz, CWF was scouting some of the fighters you have coming to Asylum this month..."
Man In The Hat: "Not surprised, son. Most of those ladies are plenty talented, but just haven't gotten opportunities yet. That's the trick in the FCBA..."
Cassie: "Uncle Wiz says it all the time. There are girls who COULD have been good FCBA fighters, not Hall of Famers, maybe, or even champions, but solid .500 or better fighters, who never got the chances they needed..."
Man In The Hat: "Used to happen in baseball all the time in the old days, and I'm not talking about segregation. I'm talking about the fact that teams weren't scouting all over the world for talent...or even all over the country. Any expert on the history of the game will tell you that there were plenty of guys who could have been good or even great baseball players who never made it off the farm."
Cassie: "The most important currency in the FCBA is fight opportunities. There are only so many of those to go around."
Tess: "On another subject, Utgaard got a win in her first bout in the Diamond Tournament..."
Pointy: "She did, indeed. Had some challenges, but came through in the end."
Tess: "Wiz, you said you aren't concerned with her winning the tournament..."
Man In The Hat (nodding): "Obviously, we WANT her to win and obviously SHE wants to win, but the key thing here is, giving the kid work so we can work out the kinks and get her back to what she was when she left here...and then beyond that. What I liked in this fight was her FINISHING. That's been an issue for her at times, and it shouldn't be. With the power she has, she's got to be able to finish. So, yeah. Pleased with the result and pleased that she's going to get six more fights in that tournament. Now. Let's watch some ball, shall we?"
