Our reporter and his blonde companion enter Front Street to find all three rings in use. In one, Katy Perry spars with Anna Torv as Mariska looks on. In a second, it's Kesha and Leelee Sobieski for Jewel. And, in the third, Leighton Meester and Kristen Stewart work for Britney. The reporters make their way through the gym, waiving greetings to the rest of the ladies who are training on various pieces of equipment around the gym before heading back to the offices, turning right down the hall and finding the door at the end open.
Man In The Hat: "Tess! Come on in! Get IN here, Harllel!"
The reporters enter and take their familiar seats in front of the desk.
Reporter: "So, Wiz, what did you think of 'Punchfest'?"
Man In The Hat: "I always enjoy those cards. Some of the ladies, of course, are a little long in tooth to be making an impact these days, but, Stratus, for example, is still a girl who can fight, and it's always interesting to see some of the match ups they come up with."
Tess: "I didn't see Decker out in the gym..."
Man In The Hat: "Correct. She remains unplugged. Just conditioning. No boxing-related activities. We'll get her back in here training in a couple of weeks, and we'll keep her out of the ring for awhile longer, then set it all into motion again. I think we'll have a spare fight or two at the end of the year, so I'd like to get Brooke back in the ring one more time in 2016, but it won't be in the next couple of months."
Reporter: "I'm still not sure I see the point in unplugging girls..."
Man In The Hat: "Two points. One is rest and the other is a reset. Both are important when a fighter has a lot of fights in a short period of time. Rest, both physical and mental, is obvious. The other, not so much. But. Things pile up when you don't have the downtime to address them. And, eventually, the pile can get too high. So, the idea is to catch up on the laundry, so to speak. Take some time away. Rest. Recharge. Address some things. Clean things up. Reset."
Tess: "And, it works?"
Man In The Hat (nodding): "Yes, it does. Bennet's looked pretty good since coming back, hasn't she?"
Tess: "She has."
Man In The Hat: "Not that she didn't look good before, mind. But. She needed the time. And, again, this is only in special cases. Only when we've seen a girl fight several times in a short period. Normally, our girls fight a month, take a month off, or fight two months in a row and then have a couple of months down. You're doing that, you have time to rest and reset. But, in the cases of Chloe and Brooke, it was right from one fight to another. And. Again. Things pile up. So. We catch up. And then we move forward."
Tess: "Any ideas what's next for Chloe?"
Man In The Hat: "We've been in talks for September. And, I think you'll be surprised what we've come up with. You won't, however, be surprised by how good Chef's Bourbon-Chipotle Rib-Eye is..."
Tess: "Let's GO!"
