Natalie Dormer and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are back again in the studio after some time a part with Rosie on assignment and Natalie facing down her Bantamweight title shot. Now we join Natalie and Rosie for continuing coverage of Queens Anniversary. Recorded live before a studio audience at Queen’s Complex in Studio 13.
RHW: You’re wincing Natalie.
Natalie: You would be to after a title fight. Even if I didn’t win the title I think I can prove I can keep up with Chopra and I wasn’t going to be a first round knockout.
RHW: Yes, you did, and you promised a message for Chopra.
Natalie: Oh, I’ll deliver my message about her between the scenes. She’s not worthy of taking up our air time so prominently. She hasn’t proven it yet.
(Audience gasps)
Natalie: Let’s talk Queen’s Anniversary. That was… something to remember us by.
RHW: I’d say so, it was a love letter to the Queens and a celebration of the first year.
Natalie: Indeed. We had a rough start to the event but Chrissy Costanza and the Lightweights and Welterweights brought it home stopping most of the fighters from reaching Katelyn or Monica by tiring them out or outright defeating them.
RHW: Our flyweight and bantamweight looked mostly like sacrificial lamb for that purpose with the performance that night. I know Paige was absolutely fuming while each one fell except Chrissy.
Natalie: Even Katelyn - or Monica made debut victories. But to be fair to Monica, she did have to face Kate Upton.
RHW: Speaking of which, the upset of the night had to be when she beat Evi.
Natalie: Indeed. Kate might hold a title belt but there was no way anyone expected her to beat someone pretty much 4 inches taller and no doubt incredibly stronger given Evi’s background is fitness modeling.
RHW: Shock of the night.
Natalie: Elyse showed us why she’s the lead fighter of the stable. In fact, all the lightweight and welterweight girls showed us why they belong. With exception to Chrissy, we practically rolled over at fly and bantamweight and it shows that a lot more focus will need to go to the girls as those weight classes in training.
RHW: No doubt what Amy and Elizabeth are thinking. Let’s talk about that Half Time show.
Natalie: We held it as a surprise because we didn’t know how Chrissy would be fairing but she went out there and gave the Kia Forum a showstopper performance. It was a spectacle that celebrated not only the Queens but also the challengers. If you’re not convinced Chrissy is the real deal just think of this - she boxed and won before giving an unbelievable performance spectacular in the same night. That girl is made of something else.
RHW: High praise for Chrissy which is something Ariana Grande lacks after her defeat at Chrissy’s hand.
Natalie: I think Chrissy summed it up perfectly - can’t stomach the punch, don’t step in the ring. Chrissy doesn’t mess around and Millie Bobby Brown found that out during Re:Ignite even though Chrissy did ultimately lose that match.
RHW: So what do we think about the new girls and the returning Kelli?
Natalie: It’s great to have Kelli back and Sarah Bolger is like a real life princess who given the shot at boxing will definitely earn her Queens tiara. Katelyn and Monica are definitely stunning but they didn’t debut to a very successful set of win. I still think they have it though, given the chance.
RHW: It’s nice that all four of them were brought out at Queens Anniversary. It really shows the showmanship that the Queens go to great lengths for.
Natalie: Indeed. And we’ll be back right after this with more coverage of Queens Anniversary and the Pay-Per-View.
