Two girls who have been on the fringes of the top 20 of the lightweight division meet for the first time in a fight that can push either woman into the title picture. Saraya struggled for years before Queens of Absolution signed the wrestler and the British girl has a 4-1 record this year including a win over top lightweight Kylie Jenner to show for her efforts. After years of CBAD appearances Fates signed Ming Xi in 2022 and the Shanghai Stunner is a combined 8-6-1 since she was signed. Both women know the stakes of the fight and the stakes are raised by ex-Fates girl Rosie Huntington Whiteley acting as manager for the Queens and fought Ming before. The two women step into the press conference and go nose to nose before being moved to their seats.
Ming picks up her microphone first. “I don’t know Paige and I don’t care. She thinks she is tough because she wrestles. She’s never tried modeling and I destroyed her coach Rosie. Tonight I will show her who the boss is and I will punch my ticket to being the number one fighting model at Fates.”
The press murmurs from the shot the raven-haired beauty took at her stablemate and partner Emily DiDonato but Bevis picks up her mic before the press can follow up. “Ming you are part of an old breed of model who I will enjoy retiring. You think you know what it takes to succeed in the FCBA but really you can’t keep up with us girls who can punch you back.”
Come time for the fight Ming is the first girl to make her way to the ring. The Chinese model removes her robe to reveal a black sports bra and white spandex bottoms with black gloves and white trim for the fight. Saraya enters seconds later and the wrestler wears a purple sports bra with matching trunks and green gloves. The two girls get in each other’s faces in the ring before they step back and thump their gloves. The bell rings for ten rounds of lightweight action.
Round 1:
Ming and Saraya exit their corners and the Chinese model takes the lead early with her longer reach. Xi jabbing at Bevis and the Brit takes a chop to her mouth early and the Chinese girl follows up to work the wrestler back. Bevis quick and she gets away from the ropes and sticks the taller girl in her ribs before the two girls clinch. The ref gives the break and the fight continues. Ming still working that jab and Saraya struggles to find the counters back and the model opens up the wrestler under her eye. Bevis into the ropes and Xi digs in a shot to her foe’s liver at the bell.
Round 2:
Saraya determined to bounce back after the previous round and she lands a right square into Ming’s midriff early. Xi’s long legs seize up and the shorter Bevis works her body to take away her foe’s mobility. Ming clinches for the break and the ref separates the two girls. Bevis feints left and sneaks close for a right into the model’s body but Xi is ready for her and drives a right into her mouth. Saraya knocked back and Ming steps forward. Girls trading punches to the bodies but Saraya’s punches start to knock Ming back. Bevis digs a hard left before going upstairs and tagging Xi in her jaw. The bell rings and Saraya evens the fight on points.
Round 3:
Bevis starts the third going right back to Xi’s body and the wrestler’s strategy is to take away the model’s mobility. Xi taking notice and the Chinese model guards her midriff and she keeps her distance. Saraya keeping out of the model’s reach and the Brit feinting left and right to. Get the model to fall for a feint. Ming patient in the first minute and she keeps her jabs precise to keep Saraya out of close quarters. Bevis changes her tactics in the second minute and retreats and Xi chases after her. Ming with a right hook and Saraya ducks under the blow to land a left into Ming’s chest. Bevis working in close and Xi hitting her back and the bell rings.
Round 4:
Ming told she needs to change her strategy between rounds and the model comes out of her corner with a quick tempo of blows aimed at Saraya’s head. Bevis blocking the blows but the Chinese model shifts her focus to the Brit’s body and churns leather into flesh. Bevis at a reach disadvantage and the Brit knows it and she looks for the Chinese girl to overcommit. Ming disciplined and the model tags Saraya in her torso with a pair of rights that thump through the arena. Bevis plants her feet and digs a right into Xi’s chest and the two girls trade blows before Xi steps back and uses her reach to put distance between herself and Saraya. The two girls circle and the bell rings and Ming takes the round.
Round 5:
Xi picking up where she left off and Bevis is knocked back early. Ming with a right straight into Saraya’s face to knock the wrestler backward and the model with the advantage early. Ming turning up the tempo and the model shows off her fitness with a flurry of lefts and rights into Saraya’s body. Bevis looking for an opportunity to hit the bigger girl back and the wrestler finds her chance in the third minute and she punishes a missed straight from Xi and gets in close. Saraya working heavy blows into Ming’s body and the bigger girl’s legs stiffen underneath her. Xi not as quick as earlier and she cannot escape Bevis’s punches and the Chinese girl clinches for the break. The ref separates the two women and Ming’s body is red from the blows. Ming with a pair of jabs to keep Saraya at a distance to the bell.
Round 6:
Bevis explodes out of her corner and gets right into Xi’s tender ribs to start the round and the Fates girl is in trouble. Ming’s legs locking up from each blow and the Chinese girl is losing her advantage. Saraya working Ming back from close range and she drives a left into the taller girl’s solar plexus. Ming winces and the Chinese girl shoots out a right into Saraya’s body. Bevis now the girl wincing and Xi follows up with a left but it sails wide of Bevis’s head and Bevis connects with a right straight that snaps Ming’s head back. Xi’s arms fly out to her sides and the wrestler digs a left into Ming’s body to straight her out for an uppercut and the Chinese model goes down! The Brit goes to the corner and the ref starts to count. Ming pushes herself to all fours and shakes her head before getting onto wobbly legs at eight. The ref waves Saraya back in and the wrestler goes right back after the model. Ming’s legs locked up and the Shanghai Stunner is an easy target for Saraya. Bevis going straight into the bigger girl’s body and she is pounding Xi back in close quarters fighting. Ming hits Saraya with a short left but takes a left in the chin and falls into the ropes and on comes Saraya. Bevis with a flurry of blows and Ming’s guard starts to drop. The Brit connects with a left right combo across her foe’s chin and the ref jumps in and Ming falls into the ropes. Your winner by TKO6 Saraya Bevis!
After:
Bevis with an impressive win and the Brit parades around the ring before getting in the defeated girl’s face.
“I told you!” she screams at Ming. Xi looks on with a blank stare and the wrestler drags the model out of the ropes and she locks in the Paige tap out! The Brit locks her hands like a vice around Ming’s chin and she bends her thin model body and tears well out of Ming’s eyes.
“Don’t cry you are making this harder!” Paige yells. The older girl howls in pain and the smaller girl lets her go. Ming crashes to the canvas holding her legs and back as medics flood the ring to tend to the battered beauty. Paige raises her hand and stands tall as the wrestler may have just earned herself title contention. Xi meanwhile falls back to a 500 record and the Fates girls are struggling despite Emily and Blake winning titles earlier in the year.
