The momentum of the Mischy-Nessa-Dove triad is coming to a head in the press tonight on a special edition of Late Night Before the Bell with Natalie Dormer, live from Studio 13 at Queen’s Complex in Los Angeles, California. Sitting in the second half of the show part of the set, Natalie, a lone tonight with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on assignment, is talking to the audience as Before the Bell resumes for the next segment of the show. Before the Bell is recorded before a live studio audience.
Natalie: Welcome back one and all to Late Night Before the Bell. Listen, I have been highly critical this week and it’s no secret but tonight we’re finally going to get answers. That’s right, joining us here in the studio right now for the first time since her horrific loss to Vanessa Hudgens and subsequent retirement from competition - ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Mischy Williams!
(Mischy Williams appears from behind a dark blue curtain and makes her way towards a standing Natalie Dormer who has moved to guide Mischy to her interview seat while the audience has a mixed reaction of cheers from those that support her and boos from those that believe she ‘stole’ Dove’s spotlight. After Natalie and Mischy get to their respective markers, they take a seat as the audience noise comes to a whisper)
Natalie: Welcome Mischy and thank you for joining us on Before the Bell. This is your first time here and I can safely say it’s with a polarizing reaction.
Mischy: Yes, but I am here because I feel I owe the FCBA a cleaning of the air and your show definitely has the viewership for just that.
Natalie: Thanks… I think. Well, let’s get into it as I know you agreed to this when you didn’t have to and the audience is on the edge of their seats for this one. There’s really no better way to phrase this and I’m English anyways, tell us why you took Dove’s title shot?
Mischy: It truly was a mistake to ask Dove for her title shot. I sincerely apologize to her for doing so, Natalie. I truly thought I could win that bout.
Natalie: Dove, from my understanding was your protege over at Hawkeye International Sports Consortium.
Mischy: That’s correct.
Natalie: (puts her hands in the air as if she’s asking a question) Did you not think?
Mischy: I thought about it more than you’ll ever know. I didn’t pressure Dove to give up her title shot to me in order for me to face Nessa.
Natalie: (slams her hands on the table, jewelry smacking against wood) Yes, that may be but didn’t you think that maybe she might feel an obligation to let you take her shot because of your relationship dynamic?
Mischy: I want to make it abundantly clear Natalie, I did not pressure Dove.
Natalie: Pressure can be indirect too. I think you may be kidding yourself here but really Dove is the only one who can truly answer this question. And her actions speak of pressure because you don’t take a sabbatical for no reason. But I’m not going to put the blame on you. This mess was mismanaged in that it shouldn’t have been allowed to happen in the first place.
Mischy: Look at my Flyweight resume and you’ll see why HISC trusted me to bring home the title.
Natalie: I will admit, it is impressive.
Mischy: It looks like we agree. I’ve had 13 title reigns, 10 of which were flyweight titles and 3 of which were JMD. From 2016 to now I’ve gone 29 and 8. I beat Vanessa twice during that period.
Natalie: This may be true but you also have a less than .500 record over the past three years.
Mischy: That may be but it doesn’t mean my accomplishments have been outweighed. Look at you - you do a talk show most of the time but when you just stepped in the ring you beat Summer Glau in four rounds.
Natalie: I won’t discredit you on your rating only because I know that it can be a misnomer.
Mischy: Natalie, if you had 250 fights against topflight competition and had won two-thirds of those bouts with title reigns, you might consider yourself the best bantam. But you’re certainly a better talk show host.
(Audience groans)
Natalie: I don’t think you have room to talk about ‘best’ right now but you’re right, if I participated in 250 fights and won the majority I’d consider myself the best bantamweight in the FCBA. But I host a talkshow and wasn’t really given as much of a chance when Anya Taylor-Joy joined the League of Mighty Women. Now I’m with the Queens and they’re willing to let me fight on my terms but the damage to my career is done by that b*tch. I still enjoy being the host of a talk show, don’t get me wrong.
Mischy: We’ve had two very different career paths and both had their bumps. This is the biggest hurdle for me yet.
Natalie: What about your future?
Mischy: If you believe I’m worried about getting picked up again by someone else, you’re wrong. Tank was my start but HISC is my home. I’m simply uninterested. Uninterested in joining someone else as other organization might be in for me at getting me at 43.
Natalie: So no thoughts on the Cougar division?
Mischy: I’ve got nothing against the Cougar division and I’ll leave it at that.
Natalie: Is that because you don’t want the competition anymore - be beaten by people you think you’d win against.
Mischy: If you want to believe I’d be beaten down now by people I beat my entire career even if you believe taking the champ of the flyweight division to 13 rounds less than a month ago is equivalent to not really being that good or that I can’t compete, I can’t help you. Use your microphone as you see fit.
Natalie: To be clear, I just did not like the way you dismissed the Cougar division. Your choice to compete in it is up to you and a personal one to make. But could you compete? We saw what Nessa did to you and I don’t put much stock in her.
Mischy: Maybe ask Vanessa if I can compete with anyone.
Natalie: Not to say you can’t compete but you really are putting yourself on a pedestal and that’s one way to fall. As you did.
Mischy: I was honest about Vanessa after the match. She’s the best. Then there’s Brec who you mentioned on your show before. She could be among the best in the future mostly because others overlook her, including me. I’ve been honest about Dove.
Natalie: That she’s among the best right now?
Mischy: Yes. But she was well below a .500 before she joined us at HISC. Before she started working with me. So if you think I was setting her up for failure instead of showing her how to win - ask Dove.
Natalie: Fair enough. We’ll invite Dove to the show as she is an up and comer - even by your own admission at some point. Look, I won’t lie, when you first came to the show I wanted tackle you to the ground and beat common sense into you but it seems you actually have some. You made your stance pretty clear so I won’t bother challenging you to a match.
However, I do want to thank you for coming to the show and clearing the air for us all. It was… interesting and a pleasure having you. And to our audience tonight whether here or on television, thank you for tuning in. This has been Late Night Before the Bell, and we’ll see you next time on MAX!
