Just an idea I think could be fun. I have never done fantasy football or anything similar. But I think this could be fun and allow managers and lurkers to play along. Here are some very basic rules:
League Rules: FCBA Fantasy Boxing League
1. Fighter Selection: Choose your boxers for your team, but not for matches you are writing.
Assume everyone starts with 1000 points.
Flyweight Cost to select - 50 points.
Bantamweight Cost to select - 100 points.
Lightweight Cost to select - 150 points.
Welterweight Cost to select - 200 points.
Any reigning champion Cost - 300
2. Scoring System:
- Earn 50 points for each round won by a close margin or draw.
- Earn 75 points for each round won by a wide margin.
- Earn 200 points for a winning knockout.
-Earn 400 points if your fighter wins a championship.
3. Official Matches Only: Only FCBA PPV events count for league scoring.
4. Team Management: Changes can be made before each monthly Pay-Per-View (PPV) event.
Here is an example:
-Player starts with 1000 points.
- Player initially spent 200 points to select Charlize.
- Charlize wins Round 1 by a close margin: 50 points.
- Charlize wins Round 3 by a wide margin: 75 points.
- Charlize wins by Knockout in Round 4: 200 points.
- Charlize becomes the new champion: 400 points.
Total Points Gained: 50 (Round 1) + 75 (Round 3) + 200 (Knockout in Round 4) + 400 (Championship) = 725 points gained.
Considering the initial expenditure of 200 points, the player gained 725 - 200 = 525 points.
So, the player now has 1000 (starting points) - 200 (initial expenditure) + 525 (points gained) = 1325 points.
I welcome any changes or suggestions. If people are game, we could do this starting with October PPV. Announcing our fantasy teams once the results have been sent out.
