Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching football at Bazz with Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "Well. A huge weekend for both Front Street and the FCBA. What are the takeaways, gang?"
Cassie: "Believe it or not, Grande. This is why we always talk about what management can do for a girl. It's not just about the training piece and the instruction piece. It's taking all the rest of the stuff away from a fighter. You don't have to worry about logistics, about setting up your camp, about negotiating contracts. Nothing. It's all done FOR you. All you have to worry about is fighting. And, it can make a huge difference. Ariana's not exactly a title contender right now, but she went from not winning a fight for seven years to winning two in a row. We'll see where she goes from here, but she just turned 30. There's time."
Pointy: "The Fuller girl was impressive..."
Cassie: "Sure was. Carpenter and Moretz looked good. Holt looks like she might be ready to get on a roll. Brown looked good as usual. Cameron should get the title shot, but, looks like she's stepping aside for Mishy."
Man In The Hat: "Huge win for Steinfeld, who's gotten on track in a big way. Had to like what you saw from Larson, as usual. And Scott looks to be back on track, which is BAD news for the rest of the division..."
Cassie: "Only thing keeping Lind from a title shot is the fact that Chopra has it. And, you have to wonder how long THAT will last..."
Pointy: "Speaking of title shots, the Fisher girl may, indeed, be in line before the year ends. She's really developed into a dangerous light..."
Man In The Hat: "Amy Willerton's a natural light. Wonder if she pushes for a shot at that weight. She deserves it."
Pointy: "Skovbye looks pretty good at welter..."
Tess: "And, speaking of welter, Kate The Great is back on top."
Pointy: "Lively had a great run and established herself in the welter elite, which is very, very hard to do. But, Upton is Upton."
Tess: "Let's talk titles. Everyone but Lively retained...on PPV anyway..."
Man In The Hat: "Lipa had to dig deep to beat Vonnie, which, of course, is what you HAVE to do to get that done..."
Cassie: "Chopra/Mitchell was a heck of a fight."
Reporter: "Let's talk Front Street. Two big wins on the PPV. McMann, you could argue, is your top big right now. And, Stewart finally avenged that loss to Cole..."
Man In The Hat: "Kennedy's kind of quietly established herself as a contender at both light and welter. We'll see where she goes from here. And, K-Stew is K-Stew. As good as it gets at flyweight."
Tess: "Mr. V points out that Kat Dennings could have been JMD champion if Front Street had been fighting JMD back when she was active..."
Man In The Hat (shaking his head): "Oh, when you've been around thirteen plus years, there are lots of 'Might Have Beens'. Kat is definitely one of those. Good news is, the kid's still here and we get to work with her every day. Do you wonder? Sure. But, you can't worry about the past. Can't change it. You learn from it and worry about the future..."
Tess: "Like Sophie's first title defense?"
Cassie (smiling): "Exactly. And, it's already been signed..."
Reporter: "Wait. What? Wiz, you always say you don't plan ahead that far...that you don't think about a title defense until you've won the title..."
Man In The Hat: "That's correct. HOWEVER. We DO plan Asylum ahead. And, coincidentally, we already booked a fight for Ms. Mudd, a JMD fight, for the October Asylum against a very good fighter from another stable. THAT fight will now be for the JMD title. Now. Let's watch some ball, shall we?"
