"Reinhart reminds me a lot of ME," says Laura with a smile. "But. Sequels are NEVER as good as the original."
"Being compared to a fighter like Laura is flattering," says Lili with a smile. "But, there are two differences between us. One is, I have a belt in my trophy case. And, the second is, I'm BETTER."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Dance with Me' by Mandy Mapes, and here comes Foxfire's Laura Vandervoort!"
Cassie: "Laura was here in 2022 for a fight with Chloe Bennet that turned out to be a good one, and I'd expect no less tonight."
O'Dell: "Blonde beauty into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a scarlet number that's got the crowd's attention in a BIG way. And, that's 'What I've Done' by Linkin Park you hear hammering through the arena, and that can only mean that 'Diamond' Lili Reinhart is on her way to the ring."
McCarthy: "Overrated like the rest of these Dancing Hookers...except for Stewart!"
Tess: "Like Chloe, Lili's trying to get a shot to get those bantamweight belts back, and she needs to get a result tonight to stay in the picture."
O'Dell: "Blonde into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd appreciating Lili in that white number we've seen before. Ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Lili. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Vandervoort isn't anything special, but even SHE can beat this Dancing Hooker!"
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Blondes getting their box on early, no surprise there, as both girls are very good on these terms. Laura has length and skill. Very precise with everything. Lili probably the harder hitter, not much difference athletically..."
Cassie: "No, both move well. And, both are smart fighters..."
McCarthy: "SMART? If Vandervoort were SMART she'd have won a title, like ME. And, if Reinhart were smart, she'd have picked a better stable!"
O'Dell: "Not a lot in it as we roll into the stretch in the first. Ladies doing a lot of feeling out right now, working the jab and the feet, probing, looking for weaknesses they can exploit later. Final seconds ticking away and there's the bell. Close. Laura."
Tess: "And Vandervoort grabs the 10-9 lead."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "More ranged boxing to start the second. Still some recon going on, but the ladies committing more of their forces now, creating openings and filling them with leather. Laura using that jab to set up right hands, while Lili's feinting, moving the feet well."
Tess: "Definitely stuff for the purists right now."
O'Dell: "No question about it. The blondes putting on a boxing clinic here in the second. Sharp exchanges here and there, but a lot of really good work going on in between those. Ladies staying VERY active in there..."
McCarthy: "I could beat both of this tomato cans in the SAME NIGHT. Maybe I'll do that GAUNTLET thing again, fight ten girls in one night..."
O'Dell: "Twenty seconds to go in the round. Very even like the first. Ladies turning up the heat a little, looking to steal those points, but no one gaining any real advantage. There's the bell. Close again to Vandervoort, who's off to a good start."
Cassie: "Laura leads it 20-18."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Third underway on the same terms at the first two. Ladies boxing at range and doing it very, very well and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND BY LILI AND LAURA IS STEPPIN' IN FENCE POST HOLES! Vandervoort HURT by a straight right from Reinhart!"
Cassie: "I'm surprised she's still STANDING after that one!"
O'Dell: "Lili might be as well, because she definitely caught her a good one. Reinhart after the older blonde in a BIG way now, backing her up with a blizzard of leather. Laura keeping the hands high, pinned to the ropes now..."
McCarthy: "Ref needs to watch for low blows! CAMPBELL is her trainer!"
O'Dell: "Laura's got the body on sale, and Lili buying some, but she's mostly working upstairs trying to find the 'off' switch. Vandervoort keeping it well hidden as the final seconds tick away. Laura will ride it out. There's the bell. Lili. Wide."
Tess: "But, Laura lives to fight another day and still leads 29-28."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Reinhart pressing forward as we start the fourth. Laura still buzzed and Lili knows it. Younger blonde determined to finish this thing now. She's backing Vandervoort up with hard shot, cleaning up effectively as Laura gives ground..."
Tess: "Vandervoort willing to trade space for time right now."
O'Dell: "Definitely is. This is about running clock, and Laura's doing that very well at the moment. She's taking the worst of it, but she's countering in spots, playing for time and GETTING DROPPED WITH A BOOMING RIGHT HAND FROM LILI! Oh, what a SHOT!"
Cassie (singing): "Turn out the liiiiggggghhhhttssss. The party's ohhhhverrrrr..."
O'Dell: "Laura crashing to her back in the middle of the ring. Lili to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. No movement at ALL from the older blonde. Six. Seven. This is academic. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! That quickly, it's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is 'Diamond' Lili Reinhart!"
McCarthy: "Lucky punch!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Lili Reinhart, and, Lili, you got her out of there pretty quickly..."
Lili (nodding): "Got a chance and had to take advantage. You saw how good she is. She can outbox you all day long. She's smart and athletic and experienced. You have an opportunity against HER, you'd better make good on it, or you're going to end up with an 'L'."
Tess: "You've had a good...and busy...year so far. What's next?"
Lili: "Still a whole quarter left. I want to stay busy and work my way toward a shot to get the belts back!"
"Reinhart reminds me a lot of ME," says Laura with a smile. "But. Sequels are NEVER as good as the original."
