Just saw that Women's World Bodybuilding Champion (1979) Lisa Lyon passed away at 70 y/o. I had to think a bit when I thought I recognized her name in the obits, but it soon came back to me. (Sadly, a search of the FCBA revealed she'd had no bouts with us - probably because by the time we got rolling she had 'retired' from boxing/wrestling.) Still, she was a ground-breaker in many ways, including popularizing images of women with muscles (as you will see if you read her obituary) both as a model and an actress. Her modeling showed her 'feline physique' and how attractive it was. Many women (ahem) couldn't wait to start working out hoping to achieve the same result. (Spoiler alert: It took a lot more work than we thought, and most had to scale back our expectations!) I've graciously included a couple of links below (the first is for Lisa's Wikipedia page) the second for a story I wrote - years ago - for Kim & Ginny's Celebrity Fight board (now rarely, if ever, visited) and a third the famous photo of the 120# Lisa holding a young Arnold Schwarzenegger (225+) on her shoulders. At the time, Lisa could dead lift 265(!) You can Google "Lisa Lyon" if you want to see many more pictures of Lisa posing. Lisa Lyon WikipediaLisa Lyon vs Raye Hollitt story

Never got a chance to meet Lisa, but I did meet Raye in her "American Gladiators" days. Very nice and every bit as attractive in person.
