I'm not a fan of "unofficial" matches. Either make them all official (would need managers approval for catchweight) or pick all participants from the same weight class.
I can approve Kelly Rohrbach in catchweight but there is ZERO chance I would approve an "unofficial" boxing fight for her.

I can approve Kelly Rohrbach in catchweight but there is ZERO chance I would approve an "unofficial" boxing fight for her. First of all, Kate Upton is not with VIXENs and at this time, Lookout! Boxing is not planning on participating in this tournament. That, is of course, subject to change.
Second of all, while we always are trying to empower managers to try new ideas, 'unofficial' tournaments or matches are not going to be one of them. We love the idea of a Sports Illustrated Tournament, but I agree, the fighters need to be catchweight, such as flyweight/bantamweight or lightweight/welterweight or from the same weight class. My recommendation would be, given the nature of Sports Illustrated models to make the tournament itself lightweight/welterweight. If you want flyweight/bantamweights to participate, you can have some lower-card matches featuring them before the actual tournament itself.
I'll look forward to seeing what people come up with and what ends up happening with this tournament, but I hope it comes to pass. Officially, on the record and awesome.

You guys are right. I was trying to make it less complicated, and so that the most people can participate. it’s just getting more complicated.
Nobody seems that interested anyway. So I don’t want to put any more energy into it.
Please close both threads. Tournament is cancelled.

Let's try this tournament again. Some changes are based on legitimate criticism from before.
Who: The contestant must have been in the Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Issue, or have appeared in SI as a featured athlete. 8 initial contestants. We can expand and use free agents as needed. What: Lightweight/Welterweight. Matches will be official. If the tourney is successful we will do a Flyweight/Bantam weight version. Where: FFC Fight Night. When: November. Why: So that it does not conflict with the Body Saddle tournament. How: Sign up here.
To keep a balance of Lights and Welters, but will accept anyone who qualifies. Right now we're looking for 2 more lightweights, and 1 more welterweight to make the minimum.
Entries So Far:
Lightweight: Kelsey Merritt (Odds and Ends) Olivia Ponton (FFC)
Welterweight: Adriana Lima (Odds and Ends) Brooklyn Decker (Lioness Club of America) Ellie Thumann (FFC)
Ronda Rhousey (Free Agent)

As noted above, Robyn "Godzilla" Lawley would like to be added. Great! Lawley has been added. We have 4 Welters but that does not mean we will turn anyone away.

As noted above, Robyn "Godzilla" Lawley would like to be added. Great! Lawley has been added. We have 4 Welters but that does not mean we will turn anyone away. If possible, Kate Upton would be interested in participating as a three-time Sports Illustrated cover model.
However, we don't want to disrupt the balance between lights and welters either. We've watched enough Star Wars movies to know there has to be a balance in the force.
We'll certainly be sure to have Kate Upton participate in the event one way or another! We're very excited about this tournament and think it's a real swell idea.

Only a fool would turn down Kate Upton! We have 5 Welters. Looking for more Lightweight Fighters.

Mary Earps: “My manager here says I was featured in the German Sports Illustrated after I won the Golden Glove at this years Soccer World Cup. I’d be up for representing Hour Glass Fitness in my first fight against one of these girls!”

Mary Earps: “My manager here says I was featured in the German Sports Illustrated after I won the Golden Glove at this years Soccer World Cup. I’d be up for representing Hour Glass Fitness in my first fight against one of these girls!” I apologize as it's not immediately clear from this thread, but the tournament sign-up has been closed and this tournament will be going up later this month. Obviously, there were two (2) cards this weekend, but there will be an upcoming beach card by the fantastic Fates and then the Sports Illustrated tournament will go up after that by the spectacular countrymouse! But, after that tournament is over, I'm sure some of those contenders would be happy to compete against another Sports Illustrated eligible fighter for sure! Sorry again, but thanks for the interest!
-Lookout!

Mary Earps: “Too bad, as fancied my chances against those opponents. Will just have to wait until next time then.”

Lookout is correct, sign ups closed a while ago and I am working on writing the finals.
Mary would have qualified as an athlete who appeared in SI and a Light/Welterweight.
If you have a flyweight or bantamweight fighter, I am planning the “Twiggy Cup” early 2024.

Louise Redknapp: “Thanks for the advance warning on the ‘Twiggy Cup’ and certainly Hour Glass Fitness will put someone up. I’ll keep watching to find out more.”
