First of all, I want to apologize for the delay in getting out the monthly PPV results as it's been an exhausting week, both professionally and personally. Those will be out tonight or tomorrow, however and thank you for your patience and understanding.
Second of all and more importantly though, I want to take a moment to discuss a troubling trend that has been occurring on the boards. I've received messages from more than one manager who are going to be taking a step back from the boards. That's because of the behavior of other managers on the boards. While I'm all about transparency here on the boards, I won't be going into any further detail about this. If you're asking yourself, "Was it me?" then chances are, it probably is.
There has been a little bit of drama on the boards lately and some of that is to be expected. This is a group that is approaching its 25th Anniversary next year and our group has been expanding, which is an exciting development. But, with so many different personalities and expectations, people are going to make decisions that you may or may not agree with. Myself, included. But, while we encourage discussion, we won't tolerate insults or mockery. If you have a concern with a decision that a manager has made and cannot be respectful, then the expectation going forward will be to message them directly. Alternatively, you can also simply not comment at all and simply accept that you might've gone in a different direction. I don't agree with every decision a manager may make around here, but my goal has been here to empower people to try out new ideas, take big swings and have fun around here. I'm going to support people and I expect people around here to do the same. Even if we don't agree on everything, that's OK. This is meant to be a fun escape and drama-free. This has always been and will continue to be a safe space for people to explore new ways of telling stories, experiment with writing and enjoy having the most exciting rivalries possible.
That's what I want the focus to be around here. While our rosters may be full of rivals, I don't want that to be the case between our managers. I hope these lately have been isolated incidents. I won't be doing comments on here and anybody who wants to discuss this can do so privately. I want everybody to feel safe, comfortable and having fun around here. We will be focusing on telling great stories with such an amazing community filled with the most creative
I'm going to leave with this “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members, a heart of grace, and a soul generated by love.” (Coretta Scott King). Let's all try to live up to this as we keep telling the most fun stories and move towards our 25th, one spectacular story, event or PPV at a time. Stay safe and look forward to working with you all!
