Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching baseball and college football at Bazz with Beth Harnois, Jane Levy, Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "So, gang, let's talk PPV. Two Front Street challenges this time. What's the thinking?"
Pointy: "Well, we're pushing McMann at both light and welter. We're looking to get her opportunities right now. Davis is a challenge for her."
Reporter: "Speaking of your bigs...how long has it been since Front Street didn't have a top ten light?"
Man In The Hat: "A while, I'd imagine. But, we're going through a transition with the bigs right now. We've had Gems and Katy retire in recent years. We've moved on from Kara. We've got some real talent in Tate and Cristy and Marie, but they're all still developin'. It's all on Taylor and Kennedy right now. But, we'll get back. Light's always been one of our best divisions. We're going to compete at a high level there again."
Reporter: "Let's get back to the pay-per-view. Stewart vs. Cole."
Cassie: "Cheryl and K-Stew have fought before and Cheryl came out on top. Kris has been spoiling for a rematch for some time. Now's as good a time as any. And, it's definitely a challenge for Kris."
Tess: "There's been a lot of talk about Front Street being interested in a reunion with Utgaard. You've never brought back a former member before, save bringing back Avril for the front office, which doesn't really count. Is there any truth to this?"
Pointy: "I'm going to be honest, girl. I LOVE the idea. Utgaard has ALL the tools to be a champion welter. She can be great on the beach. She can be great at JMDD. She can challenge the big girls at the Ice Hotel. She's a great addition to any stable, but..."
Man In The Hat: "But. We have no openings here. We aren't expanding. Ever. 14 is our sweet spot, and we're going to stay right there. As we've discussed, we are not coming up on a reorg. We've had some roster churn the last few years. We aren't getting old. We aren't getting stale. We have a good mix of contending and developin' fighters here. If an opening magically appeared, would I want Antje? Yes. I would. But. No such opening exists."
Beth (smiling): "On ANOTHER subject, I hear someone ELSE is looking for a new job..."
Tess (sighing): "Yes, there are some changes happening at Tractorpull. They don't need me for the predictions anymore. They offered to use me in other ways, but...maybe now is a good time to move on."
Beth: "If we had an opening at Foxfire, I'd hire you..."
Cassie: "You'd be too late. Tess is a Front Street employee as of September 1st."
Reporter: "WHAT? When..."
Cassie: "I hired her."
Reporter: "YOU hired her? Wiz, did you know about this?"
Man In The Hat: "Cassandra Lynn is Executive Vice President of this organization. She doesn't need my permission to hire someone. But, yes, I was aware of the situation and am aware that Tess is now Front Street's Director of Media Relations."
Tess (grinning): "Turns out, that position comes with a nice little raise..."
Cassie: "And, the added benefit of J-Mac's head exploding when she finds out about it."
Reporter (shaking his head): "The way money gets spent around here..."
Man In The Hat: "Jane, how much money did Front Street make in August?"
Jane (laughing): "Let's just say we weren't just in the black, we were in the 'absolute absence of light in the darkness of space' black. Just like we are EVERY month..."
Pointy: "We don't exactly PRINT money around here, lad..."
Jane: "But, that's about the only way we could make more."
Man In The Hat: "I KNOW how to make money, son. We spend plenty. But we make a LOT more than we spend. Now. Let's watch some ball, shall we?"
