Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching baseball at Bazz with Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "So, gang, some interesting action this weekend..."
Pointy: "Another solid performance from Cohen. If Gu wants to fight here, she can be successful."
Cassie: "MegaFox just keeps going. Beer may have turned the corner. And, Santoro continues to look like one of the top bantams in the world."
Man In The Hat: "And, Watson wasn't exactly in tough, but Emma's Emma. A threat to beat anyone at any time."
Tess: "Lots of inside baseball talk about the state of the FCBA and the future of same this weekend. What's your take on that, Wiz?"
Man In The Hat: "The FCBA has never been healthier, I don't think. This is a far more collaborative body than it's ever been. We have more good managers, more good fighters, more competition. And, I think the managers here, well. They're obviously working in the best interests of their fighters and their stables...but, I think, most of the time, they're working in the best interests of the FCBA, too. Changes will come. I'm pleased to see the minor titles get official recognition. They should. There will always be a difference between lineal titles and the others. There SHOULD be. But, those are championships, too."
Reporter: "On another subject, you've accepted a fight against Utgaard, a former Front Streeter. There are people who are saying that releasing her was a mistake. After all, she only lost two fights and she came close to winning the welterweight title. Front Street hasn't come close since."
Pointy: "Context, lad. This is about context."
Cassie: "Exactly. Antje was released because Front Street made the decision to stop going after the welterweight belts. And, at the time, there WERE no beach titles and the stable did not compete for the JMDD titles. Antje can't come anywhere NEAR making lightweight. So, if she stayed here, there were no championships for her to go after."
Man In The Hat: "As always, Cassandra Lynn is right. Antje was, initially, OK with that, but she got a little restless. She saw herself, rightly so, as a girl who could win titles and she was bein' held back by bein' here. So, we released her. If she'd been here during Front Street 3.0? She'd still be here. We'd push her at welter, on the beach, at JMDD, at the Ice Hotel, every place. I love the kid. And, yeah, I think she'd have won titles. But, we made different decisions on which direction we were goin'. THAT was the mistake. We should have expanded our horizons like we did at the beginnin' of last year. If we'd have done that, the kid may have won a title already."
Tess: "If she were a free agent, would you sign her?"
Man In The Hat (nodding): "If she were a free agent and I had a spot? Yeah. I absolutely would. With the right push, she can win gold. Multiple kinds of gold. But. That's water under the bridge. I'm pretty happy with the roster we have right now..."
Reporter: "Are you ever going to get the welterweight gold?"
Man In The Hat: "Maybe not. Might not ever get the flyweight gold again, either. But. We won the JMDD title this year. Couple of years ago, nobody would have believed THAT. Stuff can happen. We'll just have to wait and see. Now, let's watch some ball, shall we?"
