Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching baseball at Bazz with Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "So, guys, let's talk about this new stable..."
Pointy: "I LOVE the fact that they're starting with two welters...and two girls who have the size and power to make noise up there. The division is healthier than it's been in some time, and getting new managers to participate will make it even better."
Cassie: "Gomez and Lindeman are interesting flyweight names. Both only 25 and with some talent for sure."
Man In The Hat: "I'm loving Hoopes getting picked up. And, van der Graff's already shown plenty. I love Sommer Ray. We thought about bringing her in a couple of times. Best part of this group though is that these are mostly girls who've had fights here. That used to be the way it was with new stables back in the day. You looked at girls who had gotten a few opportunities, had shown something, but maybe hadn't gotten management or, for whatever reason, didn't stick, and you gave those girls a chance. These days, a lot of the new stables come in with whole rosters of girls who've never fought before. Now. NOTHING at all WRONG with that, but I like to see fighters like Ray and Hoopes and Lindeman get a real shot. I like this stable a lot and I hope we can do business with 'em."
Tess: "Let's talk pay-per-view. You've got a couple of girls coming off losses that may be fighting. Rodrigo and Vikander. What's the thought there?"
Cassie: "We want to get Olivia right back on track. We have high hopes for her, obviously, and a loss to someone as good as Millie Bobby Brown doesn't change any of that. Vikander's a test for her. We think she'll pass it."
Man In The Hat: "To answer the other half of your question, that whole light/welter picture for us is in flux right now. Obviously, we have three girls up there who are still in the developmental stage. Tate's been doin' great stuff at light and welter, on the beach and at JMDD. Marie's just gettin' goin', but we think she can make us a contender at welter again and be a factor on the beach and at JMDD. And, Cristy can, like Tate, go in four directions, but she's only had one FCBA fight. That leaves Kennedy McMann and Taylor Hill..."
Tess (smiling): "Exactly. And both may be on this card, Hill coming off back-to-back losses..."
Man In The Hat: "We want to be an actual FACTOR at welter, something that, puttin' Leelee Sobieski aside, we've pretty much NEVER been. And, with three developmental girls up there AND Ms. Hill comin' off those two losses, Kennedy might be the best shot we've got of breakin' through at the moment. Now, that doesn't mean we're givin' up on Taylor, and I FULLY expect Tate, Cristy, and Marie to BE factors up there. But, at the moment, that's where we are. That's why McMann is challengin' at welter."
Reporter: "OK. I'm going to ask this. Hill has lost two straight and you'd said last month she might take some time off to reset. Yet, you just accepted a fight for her with a FULL welter, one of the biggest girls in the FCBA..."
Pointy: "I see where this is going..."
Man In The Hat: "Son, I am NOT setting Taylor up to fail. I was accused of that with Peyton List. It was not true. What we were doin' was givin' the kid opportunities to SUCEED. But, back to Taylor. I'm high on the girl. Have been since we got her. She's beaten some great fighters. She can be a factor at both big weights and on the beach. Now. Was I gonna give her a month or two of down time after FOUR straight months of fights against Kerr, Swift, DiDo and Straho? Yes. I was. But, here's an opportunity at welter and we need to take advantage of that. That's all this is. Is Taylor comin' off two straight losses? Yes. To DIDO and STRAHO. And, before THAT, she BEAT Kerr and Swift. We are NOT givin' up on Taylor Hill or settin' her up to fail. We expect her to get back on track on PPV. Now. Let's watch some ball, shall we?"
