BEFORE:
"Memories are apparently SHORT around here," Mila says with a smile, "Because it looks like Front Street forgot what I did to their LAST hot prospect. Well. Tonight, they get a reminder."
"Mila's a challenge," Meg admits. "But, I've overcome bigger, and I'll overcome Mila tonight."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Hello, It's Me," by the lovely lady coming to ringside right now, former Unified Flyweight Champion, Mila Kunis!"
McCarthy: "ANOTHER real fighter! Am I dreaming?"
Tess: "I've often wondered about the Boltzmann Brain Theory, but if I were creating this Universe, YOU wouldn't be IN it..."
Cassie: "Good point, BFF, but maybe MAC'S brain is creating the Universe..."
Tess: "That would explain a LOT..."
McCarthy: "What ARE you two babbling about?"
O'Dell (sighing): "Mila into the ring and helped off with the robe, and Ms. Kunis looking VERY good in that black number she likes. And, that's 'BAAM' you hear behind us, and that can only mean that 'The Peapack Punisher', Meg Donnelly is on her way to the ring."
Cassie: "Meg's coming off a nice win over Kristen Bell, but she's also fourth in a four-fighter flyweight division around here, so she wants to stay on track."
O'Dell: "Meg into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd popping for the lovely Ms. Donnelly in that yellow number she likes. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks, Tess likes Meg. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Kunis isn't great, but she's not Dancing Hooker-level bad, either. Mila!"
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "Three split panels in a row and the ladies getting their respective boxes on right now. Blonde and brunette at range, moving the head, hands and feet, snapping out those jabs, looking to range find, also doing some recon..."
Tess: "No doubt about that. Everybody probing for weaknesses."
O'Dell: "And not finding many, at least not yet. Mila, of course, a veteran who knows her way around a ring, but Donnelly no longer anywhere near a tyro. This is her 27th fight, and this is her fourth season at Front Street. She's far from over her head in there..."
McCarthy: "If I had this kid at Sceej, I MIGHT be able to make a fighter out of her..."
O'Dell: "Down the stretch in what's been a very competitive first. Nobody pushing the issue. Ten seconds to go. Nice exchange right there and Meg got the better of it. There's the bell. Very close, but it's the blonde with the points."
Cassie: "And Meg takes the 10-9 lead."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "More boxing as we start the second. Ladies clearly comfortable on these terms, so no one's making adjustments. Kunis VERY slick, looking to slip that left jab from Donnelly and then get off in combination..."
Cassie: "She knows how to time it for sure."
O'Dell: "Definitely does. Mila has great feet, moves the head and hands well. She makes it hard to line her up. Meg having some success doing that in spots. When the blonde gets that left on, it makes all the difference..."
McCarthy: "But, she's not getting it on target as much as she did in the first."
O'Dell: "Is not, and that's allowed Mila to have, if slightly, the better of things in this stanza. We're down under fifteen seconds to go in the round. Good right from Donnelly. Kunis lands one of her own in counter and there's the bell. Close to MIla."
Tess: "And, we're even at 19."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Kunis getting it going now. Brunette's getting to spots, getting off in combination, forcing the blonde to the defensive. Meg's on the back foot now for the first time in the fight, and Mila working hard to keep her there..."
McCarthy: "This is what I'm talking about. These Dancing Hookers have no answer for a good fighter..."
O'Dell: "Meg reduced to countering in spots right now as Kunis is firing on all cylinders. When she's got it going like this, you see how she became Unified Flyweight Champion. GOOD combination Mila and then ANOTHER..."
Tess: "Donnelly needs to get something going here..."
O'Dell: "She's trying, but she's mostly being preempted right now. Down to twenty seconds to go in the third. ANOTHER good combination from Kunis forces Meg to back and cover and there's the bell. No doubt about this one. Mila. Wide."
Cassie: "And Kunis pulls into the 29-28 lead."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Donnelly coming forward now as we start the fourth. She's walking in behind the left jab, backing up the brunette. Kunis now the one on the back foot as Meg gets it going. Jab, cross, jab, hook, with some of those hooks dropping to the body."
Cassie: "Nice adjustment from Meg..."
O'Dell: "She's definitely changed the trajectory of the bout. Blonde all of a sudden in control of things. GOOD combination from Donnelly and ANOTHER and that right hand hurt Mila! Kunis all wobbly-butt and DOWN SHE GOES!"
Tess: "What a SHOT!"
O'Dell: "A straight right from Meg and Mila blown to her back! Blonde to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Mila sitting up at six Rising at seven and CRUMPLING BACK TO THE CANVAS! Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Mila can't beat the count and it's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is 'The Peapack Punisher' Meg Donnelly!"
McCarthy: "Lucky. Just LUCKY!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Meg Donnelly, and, Meg, a bit of a back and forth fight..."
Meg (nodding): "She's a veteran, a champion. She knows what she's doing. She's tough to deal with in there. I had to make some adjustments. Fortunately, I have Jewel and Neve in my corner."
Tess: "That's four wins in four tries for you this year. What's next?"
Meg (smiling): "Just keep working, stay busy, keep getting better. We have a lot of good flyweights here...and I just have to keep proving I'm ONE of them."
"Memories are apparently SHORT around here," Mila says with a smile, "Because it looks like Front Street forgot what I did to their LAST hot prospect. Well. Tonight, they get a reminder."
