Results: Lookout! Boxing / Story: Carnation Creations
Before the fight: This fight comes from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the South Central neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, in front of 22,570 fans. Over the past year, both fighters have grown from budding starlets in the FCBA to being top stars in the JMD division, with Mia debuting on May 12th and Paige debuting on August 8th. Both stables that incubated these fighters until ready were new to the league.
In 2023, however, both fighters found their footing. Paige overcame Jessica Nigri on her way to her first title shot against then-champion Jessica Lowndes. She lost but rattled off five more JMD wins on her way to tonight, with a 9-1 overall record in the division. Meanwhile, Mia defeated Lowndes on her second-ever title shot in March and walks into this fight as the champion sporting a 13-3 JMD record overall.
Because of the gravity of this fight, neither boxer desired to make headlines with anything but their fists. Paige and Mia agreed to speak on an ESPN video package promoting this fight separately and blandly. "Believe me or not, losing to Jessica Lowndes in January was the best thing that ever happened to me. My body felt like a heap of garbage for the next week - trust me, that spark plug shocks - but losing like I did forced me to refocus and be intentional with my boxing efforts. Now, I feel much more prepared than I did then." She said with a serious smile, wearing a white dress and a red carnation in her hair.
"I know there's a lot of questions about my future after Italians Boxing Better broke up." She said with a stern face, a black dress on, and the JMD diamond bra shining underneath. "This past year, I've liked to do all of my talking in the ring, unlike my opponent, and I know I'll have the JMD title no matter what. And if any stable hires me, they're getting a main event player."
Paige comes out to the ring with the song "Hotel California," wearing:
A black sports bra with a gold trim and a gold “PS” logo on the front. The bra provides support and comfort for her chest and shows off her cleavage and abs.
A pair of black shorts with a gold trim and a gold “PS” logo on the left leg. The shorts are tight-fitting and stretchy, allowing her to move freely and flaunt her legs.
A pair of black gloves, a gold trim, and a gold “PS” logo on the back. The gloves are padded, protect her hands and wrists from injury, and deliver powerful punches.
A pair of black shoes with a gold trim and a gold “PS” logo on the side. The shoes are lightweight and flexible, giving her traction and stability on the ring floor.
Mia comes out to the ring with the song "Ella Baila Sola", wearing:
A red sports bra that hugs her curves and accentuates her bust. The bra has a black trim and a black “MK” logo on the front, representing her initials and brand. Draped over her shoulder is the JMD title, with the JMD diamond bra having previously been surrendered to the FCBA pending this fight's outcome.
A pair of red shorts that show off her toned legs and hips. The shorts have a black trim and a black “MK” logo on the right leg, adding some contrast and style to her outfit.
A pair of red gloves that fit her hands snugly and comfortably. The gloves have a black trim and an “MK” logo on the back, making them stand out and catch the eye.
A pair of red shoes that match her gloves and shorts. The shoes have a black trim and the “MK” logo, completing her look and boosting her confidence.
Paige Sprianac has Lola Vice in her corner, and Mia Khalifa has Martina Vismara in her corner.
Both fighters bounce on the balls of their feet, their blood burning like it's filled with gasoline, ready for the bell to ring. This fight is for the JMD title, set for twelve rounds!
Round 1: The bell rings, and the crowd roars for two of the best fighters in the world, ready to clash for the ultimate prize. Mia wastes no time and charges Paige like a lioness. She unleashes a storm of punches that batter Paige’s face and chest, leaving small bruises and cuts in their wake. Paige staggers back, barely able to block or dodge Mia’s onslaught. She feels Mia’s power in every blow and wonders if she can survive this round. Mia smells blood and goes for the kill. She rocks Paige with a left hook to the jaw and a right cross to the temple. Paige falls to the canvas, and the crowd erupts. Mia raises her arms in triumph, thinking she has won, while she retreats to the neutral corner, and the referee steps in. But Paige is not done yet. She gets upright when the referee starts to count and clinches with Mia until the bell saves her. The judges score this one 10-8, Mia.
Round 2: Paige returned to her corner between rounds, where Lola waited to dispense advice. The other bantamweight wipes the blood from her fighter's nose and gives her some water. She also gives her some advice: “Listen, Paige. You can do this. You just need to be smart and patient. Wait for her to make a mistake, and then hit her hard. She’s fast and strong, but she’s also reckless. Use your jab and your footwork to keep her at bay. And don’t forget to work her body. Trust me, she’ll feel it.” Paige nods and takes a deep breath. She knows this is her chance to turn the tide. She comes out of her corner more cautiously, using her jab and footwork to keep Mia at bay. She also targets Mia’s body, hoping to slow her down and take away her stamina. She lands some good shots to Mia’s ribs and stomach, making her grunt and wince. Mia is frustrated by Paige’s tactics and tries to close the distance but gets caught with some counters. Paige edges the round with cleaner punches, still behind 18-19.
Round 3: Mia realizes she can’t let Paige get comfortable and ups the pressure again. She throws more combinations, trying to overwhelm Paige with her volume. Paige stands her ground and fires back with her own punches, matching Mia’s intensity. The round is a slugfest, with both women trading blows and taking damage. Neither one gives an inch, and the Southern California crowd goes wild. Under each others' mouthpieces, they exchange insults and taunts, trying to get under each other’s skin. “You’re nothing but a Barbie doll,” Mia sneers. “Get out of the ring and back on my movie screen.” “You’re just jealous,” Paige retorts. “You know I’m better than you, friendless girl.” The round is too close to call, and both women look exhausted as the scorecards go 29-28 Mia.
Round 4: Mia finds a second wind and comes out strong in the fourth round. She catches Paige off guard with quick punches that Paige can’t see coming. She stuns Paige with a left hook to the jaw and a right cross to the temple. Paige staggers back, and Mia pounces on her, unleashing a barrage of punches that have Paige in trouble. Paige tries to cover up and survive, but Mia is relentless. She pins Paige against the ropes, hammers her with uppercuts, and hooks to her pale chest, intensifying her bruises. Paige feels every punch in her bones and wonders if she can take any more. She hears Lola shouting at her from the corner: “Come on, Paige! Don’t give up! You can do this!” She also hears Martina cheering for Mia from the opposite corner: “Finish her, Mia! Knock her out!” The bell rings, but not before Mia lands one more punch that makes Paige’s eyes roll back, a punch that cements her further advantage 39-36 on the scores.
Round 5: Paige is in bad shape but still determined to win. She has a swollen eye, a bloody nose, and bruises painted all over her chest. But she also has a secret weapon: a right uppercut that she learned from Stephanie McMahon herself. She decides to use it in this round, hoping for a miracle. She lets Mia take the initiative and waits for an opening to counterattack. Mia is confident and thinks she has Paige on the ropes. She goes after Paige, throwing more punches than ever. Paige blocks and dodges most of them and looks for a chance to strike. She sees it when Mia throws a wide left hook that exposes her. Paige fires a left hook that lands flush on Mia’s liver, followed by a right uppercut that snaps Mia’s head back. Mia drops to her knees, clutching her side in agony, too groggy to focus her eyes on the same place. She can’t breathe, let alone get up. The referee counts to ten and waves off the fight.
Paige wins by knockout in the fifth round and is the new JMD champion!
After the fight: As soon as the referee raises Paige's hand as the new JMD champion and hands over the physical title, Lola gets a confetti bazooka from an oversized gym bag and fires it out in the air, covering the ring and setting off half the car alarms in the neighborhood. When Martina walks over to protest, Lola shoots a round towards her right knee, disabling her and leaving Mia alone in the ring.
Within a few seconds, Lola rushes around the ring to get Mia locked in a full nelson hold while she comes to terms with her sudden title loss. Before she can speak, Paige comes in with a giant grin, ready to smother her out. However, she just forces Mia in there for a second before pulling her out. "Nuh-uh. This will wait until later when you're awake to realize it." Paige declares, leaving with Lola, and letting a weeping Mia and Martina stew in the ring.
