The April PPV featured three title fights. All titles were successfully defended. In the bantamweights, Kira Kosarin retained her title defeating the dangerous Bella Thorne. DiDonato kept her lightweight title by beating Kelsey Merritt and Blake Lively is still the welterweight champ by turning back Hilary Rhoda. Avril Lavigne had retained her title earlier in the month with a win over Lily Collins. If there any results that could be considered upsets I would say they would be Bellisario’s defeat of Elizabeth Olsen and Willerton’s win over Kate Upton
The welterweights remain the private club they have been for years. Lively to me is an unlikely welter champ. A basic lightweight, she has won her last eight with wins over welters, lightweights and even a bantam. I think her next defense seems pretty clear after Amy Willerton took care of Kate Upton. Other than her, there is the usual eight or nine suspects like Lawley, Ferguson, and Decker etc.
DiDonato has not much of a problem with finding a deserving opponent. She has won twelve of her last fourteen with the two losses being to welterweights.
Her next opponent could be Taylor Swift. Emily won the last fight between the two but she has lost three of their last four bouts. Kelly Rohrbach, Agdal and Taylor Hill are also reasonable choices. Ren is on a world tour.
Kira Kosarin’s win over Bella Thorne was big. Front Street has three of the top ten bantams in Boxing Worlds rankings. Reinhart looks like she could be a good choice. The other two have had questionable competition. Selena Gomez has won six of her last seven. The two have never fought. Demi Rose could be another choice. She has fought Kira twice and beat her both times. Olsen is out since she lost to Kira the the middle of April
The usual flyweight challenger is unusual situation. Possible challengers have been eliminated by losses. Michelle Williams. Portman. Ortega, Cicchino and Bassinger have all suffered recent defeats. Vanessa Hudgens has won her last five, but has lost to Cicchino, M.Williams and Cameron in her last ten. The flyweights have become the most competitive of the four divisions. I don’t have suggestion for a flyweight challenge. Lavigne can dip down into the top twenty five for her next defense.
