We have been lax in posting our Top Ten Lightweights and Welters. We are supposed to post the every two months, but missed three ranking periods. Boxing World usually publishes their ranking every quarterly. If it happens that our rankings and those of Boxing World come in the same month, Tractorpull’s ranking should appear two weeks after Boxing Worlds. Boxing World and Tractorpull use quite different criteria in our rankings. Boxing World generally goes by won/loss records. Tractorpull, while considering won/loss records, heavily modifies them by the quality of opposition fought, which results in considerable differences. Boxing World considers JMD/D in their ranking while Tractorpull will not. Tractorpull has a ruled that a fighter must fight at least every ninety days or by the third PPV. A fighter who does not fight during that time will not be ranked. Boxing World has no such requirement. Tractorpull will rank a fighter in only one division. The one in which she usually fights. Boxing World will rank a fighter in more than one division. Boxing Worlds rankings go into great depth. Tractorpull stops at ten and only in the lightweights and welters (that’s where our interest mainly is). Tractorpull often does not rank the champion at one. Often the best fighter is not the champion. Boxing Worlds rankings are extremely useful in match making. Tractorpull are more for who a fighter needs to beat to get a title shot. Tractorpull’s rankings are subject to more criticism than Boxing Worlds since won and loss records can’t be disputed. The quality of opposition can
