Intro:
Penultimate bout of tonight sees Raffaella Modugno (1-2) look to try to stop Amy Willerton's (3-0) undefeated run in this year's Diamond Boxing Tournament. Cow Palace in San Francisco sees this international clash.
Before the bout both posted a video to the FCBA Networks social media. Raffaella did hers in her home as she sits on her sofa in a blue dress. She says in Italian with subtitles "I won last month to get my tournament really started. Now I am faced with Amy. She hasn't faced anyone like me so far in this event. I have the power and experience to beat her."
Amy does her video after working a heavy bag in her stables gym. She is wearing a red sports bra with matching yoga pants and gloves. She wipes her brow with the back of her right glove as she says "all my hard work is starting to pay off. I am certainly not taking Raffaella lightly as I know she can be a real banger in the ring. All the hardships in the ring, all those late nights watching video of my opponent and sparring. They have gotten me to this point. I need to keep pushing forwards to that title." Punching the bag with her right glove with a beaming smile.
Fight night. First to come out is Raffaella with her coach. She struts down the aisle with her eyes locked onto the ring. She enters the ring wearing a light blue sports bra with white trim, matching trunks, shoes, while she has on white gloves, hair tied into a ponytail as she stands with hands on her hips as she stares at the aisle.
Amy now bounces on her toes out on the stage. Looking excited as she has her coach Ali Landry nods with a smile. Amy walks down the aisle wearing a black sports bra with white trim, matching trunks and shoes, white gloves and her hair is braided. She steps into the ring with her demeanor changing as now she is in fighting mode. Ali telling her to not take her opponent.
The fighters jog to the center of the ring. The fighters locking eyes as Raffaella has a sneer for her opponent. They do touch gloves but Raffaella looks more keen to get back to her corner. Amy walks back to hers with a nod to Ali. With the fighters ready the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Out they step with the eyes locked. Exchanging jabs as they circle around each other. Raffaella lands a straight into the chest of Amy to set her up for a left hook to her chest. Raffaella pushing back the English fighter with a jab/straight into her face.
Amy maybe coming out cold as she is being herded around the outside part of the ring. Raffaella looking to finish things early. Not wanting a long drawn out affair judging by her throwing right hooks to the body. Amy at the half way point starts to land two punch combos back into the face of the older fighter to show she is not going anywhere so easily.
Coming off the ropes after landing a jab into the forehead of Raffaella to push her back. Both going toe to toe as they head go the end of the round. Cheeks getting smacked as they finish up the round to cheers from the crowd. The bell rings with both women jogging to their corners. The Italian beauty getting the better of the action but Amy showed a glimpse of what she could do.
Round 2:
Amy coming out her corner quicker with her jab slamming into the face of Raffaella. Pushing her back to try to Modugno respect her. Raffaella strikes off the back foot with hooks. Both slamming their fists back into each others cheeks as cracks of leather ring out.
A straight slams into Amy's face as Raffaella looks to come back at her foe. They nearly clash heads swinging in hooks, stepping back to reset themselves. With Amy catching Raffaella with a left hook on her jaw, a straight follows to slam into the chin of the older model to force her back a step.
Using two punch combos to keep Raffaella near the ropes. Amy is out working the older fighter. Raffaella still flashing some big hooks back at Amy in warning of her power. The round soon ends with Amy nodding to Ali as she returns to her stool. Raffaella on the other hand thuds her gloves together as she is annoyed that she couldn't keep the pressure on her opponent.
Round 3:
Both coming out quickly to engage. Opened up more now as punches are being exchanged more cleanly. Raffaella deflects a straight to land a counter right of her own into the face of Amy. Stepping in with a left/right hook combo to force Amy to retreat.
The momentum has swung back again as Raffaella starts to dig in a mixture of punches, several slamming into the chest of Amy to open her up to right hooks up top. Amy gritting her mouthpiece as she is only feeling comfortable enough to fight back single punches in reply.
Before Raffaella can get too comfortable, Amy blocks a left hook on her gloves, firing a quick fire jab into the nose of Raffaella to make her groan. Moving away from the ropes allows Amy to get her rhthym going again. Trading flurries of punches just before the bell rings. Raffaella looks fully locked in on winning this important bout. Amy meanwhile sits on her stool being told off Ali to be more smarter when she comes at her opponent.
Round 4:
Both fighters faces are marked up as they are not lightly tapping each other. Several thudding punches turn a fighters head around to make them retreat, before they come firing back as it is a closely fought opening minute. Toes digging into the canvas as they fight it out.
A missed right hook from Modugno leaves her open to a counter uppercut. Raffaella is driven back onto her heels, Amy forcing her into a neutral corner. Where Amy bangs away at the torso of Raffaella as she has her head against the gloves of her opponent. Trying to make it harder for Raffaella to fire back at her. Needing to hold onto Willerton to force the referee to step in to break them apart.
Resuming with Amy quicker off the mark. A double jab smacking into Raffaella's nose. Raffaella forced to move around the outside part of the ring with a tight guard. Amy digging her fists more into the stomach of her foe to try to open her up as seconds tick away. The round ends with both women know they have a tough test in front of them.
Round 5:
Pushing back out their corners to resume. They are stepping in closer to work, bodies taking a good portion of the fighters punches. Groans and barks can be heard as they try to overpower each other. Raffaella catches Amy around the back of her ear with a right hook. A short left digs into the belly of the English fighter to make her hiss.
Pushing Amy onto the ropes; Raffaella steps in with a left hook that slams into the cheek of Amy. Soon a mouse forms under the right eye of Willerton. Who clinches up with Modugno after taking a few more clean hooks around her head. Both women grinding bodies in the clinch as Raffaella looks to pin back Amy against the ropes.
Resuming after being broken apart. The fighters move around the center of the ring as Amy accepts that Raffaella wants to charge her down. Boxing more on the back foot with stinging jabs finding a home on Raffaella's face. Blood starts trickling from the nose of Raffaella from one of those jabs. The round comes to a close with both getting patched up as they sit on their stools.
Round 6:
More hard hitting exchanges out the gates as Raffaella is looking to step through her opponent. Amy matching her intensity as they slam in punches to faces. Raffaella hisses when her nose is clipped by a left hook and she retreats back, Amy stepping after her with a jab/straight between her mitts to her face.
As Amy steps after Raffaella, she is met by a straight into her face. A left hook catches the English fighter on her cheek to slow her down. Turning the tables now as Modugno moves back on the front foot. Landing a double jab/right hook that rocks Amy back into the ropes. Raffaella looking to pin her back as she swings in power punches till she is held by Amy.
Broken apart with a minute left in the round. Raffaella looks to keep the heat on her foe. She swings in a left hook that finds air, Amy dipping under an comes over the top with a right onto the nose of the Italian beauty, making Raffaella cry out as she backs off. Amy moving after her opponent with a left hook/uppercut combo opening up Modugno to send her head back. Soon the round ends as Raffaella is on the ropes. Both women taking in a deep breath as they lock eyes for a moment, trying to show their opponent a sense of strength from them before they return to their corners.
Round 7:
Tapping gloves early as they try to get their jabs going through their opponents guard. Raffaella takes a looping swing with her right, missing as Amy steps out the way and counters with a clubbing right hook back into her face. Raffaella cries out as she takes a step back. AMY POUNDS IN A RIGHT HOOK ON THE NOSE OF RAFFAELLA AS SHE WHINES OUT WITH TEARS IN HER EYES. NOT SEEING THE FOLLOW UP RIGHT TO HER EAR THAT SENDS MODUGNO DOWN TO THE CANVAS!

Rolling to her back with her head facing to her right. 7...8... Raffaella shuts her eyes as she has blood running from her nostils to the canvas. 9...10 the fight is over! Raffaella counted out!

There's a hint of relief on the face of Amy. She was dragged into a battle here tonight, arms in the air as she says to herself "yes" with a big beaming smile. Ali steps into the ring and praises her for sticking in when she returns to her corner. Amy was certainly made to work for this win.
The beaten Raffaella needing help to sit up by her coach. Who works on her nose to patch her up. Raffaella wincing each time her nose is touched as sweat drips off her magnificent body. She gets her gloves taken off but looks like she wants to stay sitting a moment looking miserable.
Once Raffaella does feel better about what happened after listening to her coach tell her how well she did. She is up on her feet with help, leaving the ring as her coach wants to get her out the spotlight. Raffaella has shown once again that she can show some real class in the ring. It's just finding that little bit extra at this level. She has to keep her head up and keep going forwards.
In the ring Amy on the other hand has a very bright future ahead. She gets her right arm raised by the referee. She flexes her left arm with a cheeky smile. Now four out of four wins for her. She still has some tricky tests ahead including Hailey Clauson of course.
Stepping out the ring. Amy and Ali have an arm around each others backs as they chat. Both relaxed as they look up the aisle to the backstage area. Where Amy was when she joined the League of Mighty Women stable to now is like night and day.
