Its main event time here in San Francisco's Cow Palace. After a few months of having to go into enemy territory to get wins in the Diamond Boxing Tournament, Hailey Clauson (3-0) gets a homecoming here as she takes on the hard hitting Iskra Lawrence (1-2) with support firmly behind her. Will Iskra be able to ruin the California fans moods or will Hailey give them smiles to take home with?
Before the bout both did videos that were posted on the FCBA Networks social media account. Hailey did her video from inside the legendary Cow Palace. She walks around wearing a red dress with matching heels. Looking in awe at a venue that has had all sorts of events in it.
"I can't believe I get to fight in here on one of my most important nights in my career. I have heard everyone praising me for being in the form of my life but each fight I might lose. Each fighter I face in this tournament could knock me out or take me on points, so I am not taking Iskra lightly, even if she is struggling to build her own momentum" says Hailey. She is looking thoughtful as clearly she isn't letting the praise go to her head.
Iskra meanwhile sits on her bed in her hotel room doing her video in a white vest and blue denim shorts. She tells the camera "I am loving being back in California. It feels my second home as last time I was here I was winning my first round in this tournament here. Now I have to batter one of your favourite daughters. Hailey bring your best as I am coming to take your undefeated run off you." Raising her fists up with a grin.
Fight night. There's a loud roar as out comes Hailey, she puts her black right glove over her eyes to gaze over the crowd from the crowd, beaming as she blows them kisses. The jogs down the aisle with her coach Henry behind her. Wearing a gold coloured sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and boots, hair tied into a braid. She climbs through the ropes with high fives for Henry.
The cheers turn to a few boos aimed at Iskra. She struts down the aisle wearing a long white robe. Her coach following as she smiles, not looking too bothered that she hasn't the love of all the crowd. Getting the robe taken off before she steps into the ring. Iskra pounds her white gloves together as she wears a white sports bra with black stripes up each side, matching trunks and shoes, hair also braided. Looking in the mood to cause the upset as she stretches her arms to be fully ready.
The referee brings them to the middle of the ring. The fighters lock eyes in an intense stare down as Hailey's name is being chanted. The fighters nod as they bump gloves with their opponent. Returning to their corners with both women having their fists raised. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
"Ding!" The crowd is cheering for Hailey right away when she lands a few stiff clean punches, not caring when she is getting hit with return fire from her opponent. Hailey lands a straight square into the face of Iskra, looking buoyed by the support as she step in with a left cross to turn the head of Lawrence.
But before she can get too comfortable; a clubbing left hook slams onto her jaw, opening Clauson up to a straight into her face. Iskra stepping in with a few hooks around the body of the American. Who has to step back and use her jab to try to stop Iskra coming after her.
A deflected jab though leaves Clauson open to a jab into her face, uppercut soon follows to rock back Hailey to the ropes. Where Hailey is covering up as Iskra looks like she wants to smash her face with hooks. Not all land but they are pinning back the younger woman. Hailey tries to get out her guard but another right flush into her face as her covering up as the power of Iskra shows itself.
At the bell they break up with Iskra stepping to her corner showing how relaxed she is by talking to her coach. Hailey meanwhile takes a seat knowing she let Iskra off the hook after a strong start, arguably losing the round due to being beaten back so badly by the heavy handed Brit.
Round 2:
Needing to double up her jab and use her footwork more, Hailey catches tactics to keep Iskra on the back foot. Taking a few clipping punches around her jugs as Iskra is looking for a way to slow her down. Hailey is getting the crowd back to full excitement to watch her. Iskra stalking after her more flat footed of the fighters.
A straight catches Hailey into her chest, followed by a clubbing left hook to her cheek. Iskra again proving how dangerous she can be as she works back the crowd favourite towards the ropes. Hailey smartly holding onto her but finds herself pressed into the ropes as Iskra tries to show her strength to everyone.
Back at it they go after being broken apart. Hailey slamming in a double jab from the off before stepping back as a left hook flashes past her face. Hailey looking crisp with her punches as she moves around the perimeter of the ring. Again though with less then ten seconds to go, Iskra is able to close the distance by landing a right hook into the jugs of Clauson. Slowing her down enough for a jab/straight to snap her head back.
The round comes to a close with Hailey thudding her gloves together, maybe letting a little pressure get to her as Henry tells her to focus purely on the opponent in front of her and nothing else. Iskra on the other hand sits on her stool still grinning as she looks to be enjoying the test in front of her.
Round 3:
Again like the last round Hailey is looking to use her jab and footwork to set the early pace. Iskra looking annoyed as she isn't landing as crisply with her own punches as she work like. a few good shots hit Hailey but she is mostly controlling the action through the open minute as her fans chant her name.
Digging in a double jab to the chest of Iskra. Hailey gets caught with a right hook over the top as she stays with her feet planted too long. Iskra moving in closer to force the issue as several big punches are landed to send their heads shaking around. Hailey uses a little shove to Lawrence's face to give her time to move again. Iskra looking furious as no warning comes for the shove.
Instead Iskra misses with some looping hooks as she lets her temper get the better of her. Hailey landing several solid counter punches as she busts the bottom lip of the English fighter with a straight slamming straight into it. At the end of the round it's a strong round for Clauson, for the first time in the fight it looks like Lawrence might be a little worried.
Round 4:
Coming back out their corners with Hailey looking to be trying to stick to a game plan here. She gets a little greedy as she plants her feet and tries to unload a few power punches. An uppercut catches her on her chin to rock her back a step. Iskra stepping after her with a jab/straight smacking square into her face to make her retreat.
Iskra looks in a foul mood as now she bodies up to Hailey near the ropes. Forcing the issue as both work the others body. Iskra soon uses her left forearm to create space before pounding in a short uppercut into the breasts of Hailey to rock them around. Clauson wincing as she wasn't expecting that, her focus looks a little off as a left hook slams into her cheek to send some sweat flying.
Into a neutral corner goes Hailey. She takes a few shots to the body before she can grab onto Iskra. While there was plenty of respect before the bout, they both are landing rabbit punches behind the others head as they desperately want to win. Referee splits them up with Hailey getting back into space. At the end of the round Iskra stares down Hailey with a frosty expression. Telling her opponent she isn't going to wilt to her.
Round 5:
Iskra definitely seems to have found another gear as she steps back out her corner. Getting squared up to Hailey early as she sends in hooks to keep her in place, causing them both to exchange in closer range. The crowd hasn't been silenced yet as they chant the name of Hailey. They are shocked though when they see her take another uppercut to knock her back to her heels.
The power of Lawrence looks to be starting to worry Clauson. Who is covering up more tightly as Iskra is looking to beat her back with piston like punches, the issue for Iskra though is she isn't landing that flush. Getting caught with a few jabs back into her own face as slowly Hailey is adapting to what is happening in front of her.
Leading to late in the round Hailey slipping a straight, she comes in closer with a clubbing right hook to the ear of her opponent. Iskra takes a step to the right as a jab lands square into her left eye to make her cry out. Hailey scowls at Iskra as if to say "you won't ruin this night for me!" As she pounds in a few more straight punches till the bell rings. Iskra has some swelling around her left eye as she sits on her stool. Hailey admits to Henry she has f**ked up the last two rounds as she gets advice on what she needs to improve while she spits some blood out from a cut inside her left cheek.
Round 6:
Resuming with Iskra looking a little less sure of herself as Hailey is jabbing towards that left eye. Iskra looks to catch her out with a looping left hook. It only finds thin air though as Hailey steps back out the way. IN COMES HAILEY WITH A PIN POINT UPPERCUT THAT LANDS FLUSH ONTO THE CHIN OF ISKRA! GUMSHIELD COMES FLYING OUT AS DOWN CRASHES ISKRA! THE REFEREE CHECKS AND DOESN'T BOTHER TO COUNT AS SHE IS OUT!

The crowd erupts as Hailey wins with a highlight reel knockout! She jumps for joy after spitting her gumshield to the canvas, arms in the air as tears of joy run down her cheeks. In comes Henry to lift her up into a warm embrace. Hailey giving him a kiss that certainly won't go unnoticed in the Vixen's locker room.
All the while Iskra's coach and the ringside doctor charge into the ring to check on her. It takes a few moments but Iskra awakes back into the land of reality after being in the dream world there. She is checked over by the ringside doctor. Who asks for help to get her out the ring as they want to check her over.
Iskra is certainly not used to being knocked out like that. Her head is down as she is helped out the ring, a few tears dripping onto her chest as the fight looked like it was going her way. As they always say in the welterweight division; one punch can change it all. Iskra certainly got caught by one hell of a brutal hit to end her night going to the medical room in the backstage area.
Hailey hasn't even noticed that. She is out the ring and hugging her family and friends at ringside. Beaming as they tell her how proud they are of her. The girl who started from nothing to now be a major star in modelling and now female celebrity boxing. Hailey wipes tears from her eyes before Henry has to tell her she is needed in the ring. Giving her gloves off to one of her family as she waves to the crowd.
Back into the ring. Hailey gets her left hand raised as the crowd chant "there's only one Hailey Clauson! One... Hailey Clauson!" She blows kisses to them all as she does a lap of honour around the inside of the ring. This is more then just a victory for her. It's about celebrating with her fans and the most important people of her life.
She steps out the ring and tells her family she will see them soon. Though judging by the looks her and Henry share, they might have a little wait on their hands. Still importantly tournament wise Hailey remains undefeated in the Diamond Boxing Tournament. News leaks through that shockingly the scheduling has Hailey fighting Amy Willerton in the next round! Someone's zero losses in the tournament has to go next time around!
