FNL: Boxermania VII pre-show (intro):
Renee Young: we are here live in SoFi Stadium for the seventh edition of Boxermania; where the pro wrestling world and celebrity female boxing collide! I am your host Renee giving you a quick rundown on the fights we have in store. With the card as follows.
The card line up is as follows:
*Bantamweight: Liv Morgan Vs Mandy Rose*
*130lbs catch-weight: Britt Baker Vs Gigi Dolin*
*Bantamweight: Asuka Vs Iyo Sky*
*Welterweight: Torrie Wilson Vs Ronda Rousey*
*Bantamweight: Becky Lynch Vs Kairi Hojo*
*Bantamweight: Mercedes Mone (FKA Sasha Banks) Vs Giulia*
*Welterweight: Toni Storm Vs Jamie Hayter*
And the main event:
*Welterweight: Bianca Belair Vs Charlotte Flair*
Renee: yes we have five female wrestling world champions on the card, a first for this event. Of course with a card as massive as this is, we need so incredible pundits. So please welcome former WWE women's world champion and one of the pioneers of female wrestlers joining the FCBA ranks. Trish Stratus!
(Trish waves to the camera with her bubbly smile)
Renee: to her left is a former AEW women's world champion. She has also fought in the MMA world, please welcome with me Thunder Rosa!
Rosa raises her fists with a smile to the camera.)
Renee: ok so first to you Trish, as we can all see there are quite a few women making their debuts this year. You won't thank me for saying haha, but it has been a while since you debuted, how will they feel tonight stepping into a FCBA ring and boxing instead of wrestling.
Trish: as Rosa I bet will tell you, wrestling prepares us for performing in front of large crowds. This stadium won't faze these women one bit.
Rosa: I can definitely agree with that. (Both Trish and Rosa share a knowing nod.)
Trish: the big thing is wearing gloves and being hit in a fight where you want to knock someone out. I know some have martial arts training so will have sparred for years, others haven't but have friends who have been on these shows. So unlike when I first burst on the scene. I mean my mentor was the criminally under appreciated Debra McMichaels. Where her and the nitro girls laid the groundwork for the likes of me and Mickie (James) to come in our division.
Of course Torrie Wilson is on the card tonight, her rivalry with Stacey (Keibler) was legendary. Both showed that the bigger girls could make it and Stephanie McMahon has done a lot. These girls are going to be the next pioneers for Asian wrestlers to become more prominent here.
Rosa: I couldn't have said it better. I know a few of these new girls from my travels, I mean people know me and Jaime (Hayter) are not friends. I will tell you now though that she is legit, strong, powerful and tough. She is one to watch out for if she gets fights in the FCBA.
Renee: I was going to ask you Rosa. As someone who has travelled the world wrestling. Is there any one or maybe a few women we should definitely keep an eye out for.
Rosa: well Kairi (Hojo) is a whiz in the ring. I'll be interested how she does against Becky Lynch, who I'd love to wrestle or box against someday myself
Then you have Giulia, I mean if you can go toe to toe with former UFC fighter and former World of Stardom champion Syuri Konda, you are legit tough. She has been making waves in Japan, so I will be watching closely how she does in America in that ring tonight.
Renee: as always I have to ask you both to pick a fight you are most interested in and sell it to our viewers. Trish can you tell us your pick please?
Trish: mine is Charlotte Flair versus Bianca Belair. Both are women's world champions in the WWE. Both are physically powerful and quick. In fact they maybe the most impressive fighters in the FCBA. There will be a lot of pride on the line and it could honestly prove to be one of the best fights in the FCBA all year.
Renee: wow! That is some praise, now I know you may have picked that fight Rosa but what is your choice?
Rosa: that is going to be a hell of a fight. My choice though is a little surprising I bet. Mine is Torrie Wilson versus Ronda Rousey. I respect Ronda for her legendary MMA career, I also respect Torrie Wilson for all she did for us women wrestlers to enter events like this.
Yes Torrie is no spring chicken but every time I see her I am so jealous. You know what I mean right Trish.
Trish: I like to keep myself in shape, Torrie is something! I think most women half her age wish they were as fit and powerful as she is.
Rosa: exactly! While Ronda is a strong fighter. You have to ask though can Torrie turn the clock back to deck Ronda worse then Amanda Nunes did or will Ronda show she is becoming an elite boxer. I will be sitting with you both wide eyed I bet at the punches that will be flying in that one.
Renee: you can't really go wrong with any bout on the card. On that note before we start the event we have two interviewers to this year's event. With of course the wonderful Alicia Atout back with us tonight.
Alicia Atout:
Renee: while we also welcome the wonderful Lexy Nair to our FCBA screens!
Lexy Nair:
Renee: right it is time to get the show rolling! I hope you all enjoy tonight's card!
