Intro:
Battle of the eras here now at Los Angeles SoFi Stadium. Torrie Wilson looks to turn back the clock as she takes on the former UFC and WWE women's world champion Ronda Rousey. Both strong women wanting to prove they are the alpha blonde tonight.
Before the bout both women were interviewed by Alicia Atout in the backstage area. Torrie was up first wearing a black dress with matching heels, smiling as she shakes the right hand of the interviewer. Hands on her hips as she looks to the camera.
"I am glad that the organisers of these Boxermania cards think I have a little left in the tank, before you ask Alicia I feel I have a few more years to go. I have loved being able to fight these younger wrestlers coming through, to hear some say that I inspired them to take part in wrestling and those who have come to celebrity boxing" Torrie says with a beaming smile.
When asked about her opponent. Torrie replies "I respect Ronda a lot, to have done what she has done in fighting. She should be a hall of famer in fighting but tonight I don't care what she has done, she is sharing a ring with me and I will knock her out when I see my chance." Making clear she isn't afraid of Rousey.
Ronda meanwhile chats to Alicia as she wears a black leather jacket, white T-shirt with "Rowdy" written in black across it, black jeans and boots. Ronda staring hard at Alicia, who looks a little nervous around the UFC legend. With Ronda telling her "I should be main eventing this card, not Charlotte (Flair) or Bianca (Belair), instead I get to fight Torrie f**king Wilson. Do you know the difference between me and Torrie?"
Alicia thinks about it but before she gets the chance to say anything, Ronda tells her "the difference is Torrie is a bikini wrestling and I am a legit fighter. Torrie could only wrestle in her knickers and boxed nobodies around here. I have beaten the best walking this planet. When I am done with Torrie tonight I hope she retires and leaves the fighting to the likes of me." Disrespecting Torrie, who has beaten plenty of legendary celebrity boxers in her career.
Fight night with Torries music hitting, the crowd going wild as she comes out onto the stage. Torrie blows a kiss with her pink right glove to the fans, waving to them as she walks to the ring with her coach following behind her. Torrie steps into the ring wearing a bubblegum pink coloured sports bra, matching trunks and shoes, her hair is braided. Torrie mounts the bottom ropes in her corner to raise her arms into the air, acknowledging the loud cheers coming her way.
Now Joan Jett can be seen on the stage singing "I don't care about my bad reputation!" As Ronda comes out. She has her black jacket on and a black skirt on. Bouncing on her toes at the top of the eye as she shadow boxes. Walking down the aisle with her fists raised to the crowd to show them what Torrie is about to get. She steps into the ring and takes her jacket off with her skirt following. Getting her black gloves on, to go with her black sports bra with the orange "Rowdy" across the front, black trunks and shoes, while her hair is in a ponytail.
The fighters jog to the center of the ring. Ronda bouncing on her toes with an intense stare, Torrie has her hands on her hips grinning looking relaxed at the task ahead of her. Torrie puts out her gloves with Ronda quickly swiping them with her own. They jog back to their corners with eyes locked across the ring. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Trading stiff jabs to start the round. Ronda looking to muscle her way in but she eats a short right hook to her cheek, maybe not showing Torrie enough respect as the former FCBA champion is landing several crisp clean punches into the face of Rousey to keep her back. Torrie showing flashes already of what made her a champion with crisp two punch combos.
Ronda manages to get inside by crouching under a jab to work the abs of her opponent. Torrie needing to push off the smaller fighter. Landing a straight into the top of the forehead of Ronda to keep her at range, moving on the perimeter of the ring outworking Ronda to the surprise of some.
An overhand right though catches Wilson with under fifty seconds to go. Ronda driving Torrie onto the ropes. Hammering to the body of the veteran. Who nudges her back and landing a double jab into the face of Ronda before she moves away into space. The round soon comes to an end with Rousey looking annoyed already that things are not going smoothly as she walks back to her corner. Her coach telling her to not be cocky and take her opponent lightly.
Round 2:
Resuming fighting with Ronda not looking as open now. Picking away early in the round with single punches, Torrie meanwhile showing patience not to rush in even after her success the last round. Though maybe she held off too long as a jab under her chin leads to an overhand right onto her jaw to turn her head.
Now back to the ropes goes Torrie as Ronda gives her a nudge with her left shoulder, pinning her opponent to the ropes as she whacks away around her flanks. Torrie with a nudge with her right glove as she keeps her left towards her cheek. Moving away into space as Ronda taps her gloves together as she looks to hunt down her older foe.
But with less then a minute to go. Ronda gets caught with a left hook onto her cheek to turn her head. Torrie turning the tables now as she backs off Ronda to a neutral corner. Torrie giving her some payback with body work till Ronda holds onto her. They are broken up just before the bell rings. Ronda looking better that round but still Torrie giving her some food for thought.
Round 3:
Again Ronda starting strongly as she is peppering the abs of her opponent. Looking to wear down the batteries of the older fighter. Torrie slamming in punches around the top of Ronda's head as she looks to stand her ground. Both slamming in hard punches as they grunt and bark in effort.
A left hook catches Torrie onto her cheek. She is bullied back into a neutral corner, Ronda sticking to the game plan with the body shots. Torrie needing to clinch up with Rousey to slow her down. They are broken up by the referee with Ronda looking to keep the pressure on her foe. Torrie landing several good solid two punch combos back into Ronda's face to keep her honest.
With Torrie coming on stronger as they head towards the end of the round. Both trading hard punches as they look to grab control of the action. Nearly clash heads as they both step in with hooks, clinched up wrestling as both show their power. The referee splits them up with both finishing the round off with a toe to toe exchange. The bell rings with both staring intensely at their opponent. Walking past each other to their corners as this is proving to be a tougher test then Ronda clearly expected.
Round 4:
Torrie comes back at Ronda to start the round. Catching out the UFC legend with a left cross on her cheek with a straight into her face. Ronda being forced back to the outside part of the ring. Pounding around the flanks of Ronda when she is covering up, Torrie stepping up a gear here.
Ronda does manage to duck a straight to get back to pounding the body of Torrie. She gets pushed back by Wilson though, getting clipped with hooks to keep her on the outside. Ronda looks annoyed that she isn't getting much success out the outside as Torrie is landing the better punches.
Less then thirty seconds to go. Ronda looking to take the fight back to Torrie now, going toe to toe with heavy hands being traded. Cheeks starting to redden up as they slam in hooks. A jab lands square into the face of Rousey to break her rhthym. A short right hook turns the head of the smaller fighter. The round comes to an end with Torrie tapping her gloves together as she jogs to her corner. Ronda stares up at the sky wanting to scream, her ego is on full show here.
Round 5:
Coming out looking to stamp their authority on the fight. Trading on the inside as Ronda presses in closer, landing short hooks before they muscle up to each other. Things getting scruffy as they bump elbows trying to bully each other backwards. Needing to reset themselves apart.
After the opening minute an overhand left catches Torrie on her jaw. Ronda bullies her back towards the ropes with thudding body shots, there is now a redness around the sides of Wilson's body. Torrie clinches up with Ronda to slow her down, both grappling along the ropes, Torries back being scraped along them before the referee can split them up.
Resuming with less then a minute to go. Torrie able to get her jab back into the face of Ronda. Who is looking to keep the pressure onto her foe. Some heavy leather being exchanged between them when they plant their feet to trade. The bell rings to end the round with both women returning to their corners looking determined. The crowd on Torries side as they chant for her, making Rousey scowl at the crowd from her stool.
Round 6:
Pushing back out to resume. Ronda still trying to be the aggressor but she is getting caught coming in. Blood starts trickling from a cut on the bridge of her nose. Ronda misses with an overhand right, INSTEAD AN UPPERCUT LANDS TO PUSH HER HEAD BACK, FOLLOWED BY A LEFT HOOK THAT SENDS RONDA DOWN ONTO HER BACK!
Heading to the neutral corner, Torrie raises her arms in the air with a smile as the crowd is standing and roaring for her. 1...2...3... Ronda pushes herself up to a sitting position. 4...5... Shaking her head to clear her head. 6...7...8... Pushing up to her feet, Ronda raises her gloves up and walks to the referee when she is checked. Getting the okay to continue.
They come back together with Torrie looking to finish the fight now. Ronda moving her upper body as she looks to dodge and fire back. Needing to step up a gear, Ronda getting caught with a few clean punches square into her face to knock her onto her heels. Ronda grabs onto Torrie to slow her down.
The bell rings to end the round with Ronda shaking her head in disbelief as she walks to her corner. Torrie meanwhile is staring hard at her from her corner. Sweat coating her body as she gets cleaned up.
Round 7:
Torrie is looking to keep the heat on Ronda early, winging in some big haymaker like punches. Ronda though showing she is still ok. Landing a counter left onto the chin of Torrie, THEN A RIGHT LANDS SQUARE ON THE LIVER AREA OF WILSON! DOWN SHE GOES TO ALL FOURS!
Ronda steps to the neutral corner to a mixture of boos and cheers. 1...2...3....4... Torrie spits out her gumshield as she is panting with her cheeks flushed red. 5...6...7... She rolls to her left side cradling her body as she curls up. 8... Tears running down Torries face to the canvas. 9...10 it's all over!
Winner Ronda Rousey KO Round 7
After:
Pounding her chest with her right glove. Ronda let's her emotions out as she roars. Nearly getting humiliated by someone she seen as beneath her might have shattered her ego. She returns to her corner getting her gloves taken off and her face wiped down. Ronda says "I thought she was going to be lucky there." Not really showing much respect to the woman who just pushed her hard.
Torrie of course right now can't argue with her. She gets an ice pack placed onto her body by her coach. Gloves taken off as Torrie wipes her tears away. Getting to her knees after a few moments, panting as she tries to catch her breath. The crowd chant "Torrie!" To show their support for her to make her smile.
Of course Ronda doesn't enjoy it as she looks around at the crowd. Telling her coach "f**king idiots" as she shakes her head. Going to the center of the ring as Torrie is being helped to her corner, she taps her right arm to the referee to raise it now, reminding the crowd who won this contest as Ronda points at herself with her left hand.
"Screw you all!" Yells Rousey as she is booed again. She storms out the ring. Walking to the backstage area with her coach having to rush to catch up to her. It'll be interesting to see if her mood with change or if she is going to hold a grudge over this reaction.
Back in the ring Torrie gets a round of applause as she gets a lot of respect. She waves to the fans before she steps out the ring. Torrie showed again tonight that physically she is still strong and so is her willpower, just has she slowed down too much to get wins against these younger women? It'll be interesting to follow how Torries career moves forwards, will she take on more fights to keep sharp or simply will just make appearances on these Boxermania cards.
