AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM FOXFIRE BOXING
There is tension in the air as members of the FCBA press gather in the FCBA Communications Center, Word has come down that Foxfire Boxing and Hawkeye International Sports Consortium is about to be made. There is much buzz concerning the fate of former bantamweight champion Naomi Scott.
“I’m thinking that HISC has cut loose Naomi,” Archer New Service’s Skip Tracey to several colleagues, “Foxfire has picked up other stables discards. Jennifer Garner herself was let go by HISC. I just wonder what HISC will get out of the deal.”
There was a sudden tremor in the crowd as Foxfire’s Communications Director Elisabeth Harnois accompanied by General Managr Jennifer Garner appeared.
“Thank you all for coming,” Beth said, “We have an announcement to make concerning the roster of Foxfire Boxing. As many of you have suspected, Foxfire has been in confidential discussions with Hawkeye International Sports Consortium. I want to thank HISC for allowing us to make this announcement first. I am sure they will have comments of their own to make. To make the official announcement, I would like to introduce our General Manager, Jennifer Garner.”
Jen steps forward: “I will try to make this simple and concise. Foxfire has agreed to sign over the contract of our bantamweight NatalieAlyn Lind to HISC. In return Foxfire will receive the contract of former bantamweight champion Naomi Scott. I would like to add that this process was in motion even before Natale and Naomi fought at the last PPV. The outcome of that fight did not affect the agreement once both fighters passed a post-fight medical exam. In regards to our decision sign Naomi Scott our reasoning was that she offers Foxfire the chance to improve our Bantam division. As part of that plan former champion Rachel McAdams has agreed to become “Assistant Trainer for Bantamweights” she will supervise Naomi and our younger hopeful Bailee Madison. We wish Natalie Alyn Lind good fortune (except when she fights someone from Foxfire) and have to say we think she will do well at HISC. We will have no further comments or answers to questions at this time.”
“Thank you all for coming,” Beth says as she and Jen make a smooth, but rapid exit.
The assembled reporters explode with frustration. They had a good many unanswered questions and did not get many answers from the announcement.
“I intend to get to the bottom of this,” Skip Tracey said and he was not alone….
