March to War: Contract Signing
Queens of Absolution versus Lookout! Boxing
Stable War Contract Signing
March 1, 2023
(Writing: QoA / Lookout!)
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Actually, no, it was never a good idea at any time, but regardless of how ill-advised it might be, it was declared absolutely necessary by both stables. Both stables - Queens of Absolution and Lookout! Boxing - deemed it so important to make sure that neither would back out in advance of the upcoming Stable War between the two. Now entitled ‘March to War’, it was well-named as nobody actually believed that either stable would back down at this point. But, having it officially on paper would lock both stables into a battle for pride that neither of them would ever forget. Hopefully it would be memorable for the fans too, but the goal for the stable war today was just to make it official and give everybody involved something to look forward to.
Each Stable sent a few representatives to represent each other, some of whom were selected for their ideally calming presence and some who were going to be less so.
In the latter category, of course, were Zooey Deschanel and Michelle Trachtenberg, who couldn’t be kept away despite knowing what an incendiary presence either of them could be. A referee kept a very close eye on the two of them as the two of them stepped forward to shake hands. One hand gripping each other tightly as close observers noted their other hands were each balled into a fist as they greeted one another.
“Thanks for making time for a washed-up has-been to show up here to make it official where your stable gets officially wrecked by ours and we take what you claim to be your house.” Zooey said with a smirk.
Michelle arched up an eyebrow and snickered, “That means a lot coming from a never-was who took time out of her busy schedule of talking sh*t so that we can kick your trespassing jealous ass back out of OUR house.”
Just as it looked like the two of them might punch each other, leadership for both stables intervened with Amy Acker and Elisha Cuthbert.
Elisha grinned as she stepped between Michelle and Zooey, going to give an enthusiastic handshake to Amy, “it’s such a pleasure to meet you. It’s a real shame we never met in the ring over the years, though that can always change.”
Amy chuckled, “I’m always available to step back in and show b*tches how it’s done, especially since you just joined the cougar club yourself, isn’t that right?”
Elisha winked, “That’s true and I’m glad you’ve still got that same spirit. It has to come in handy since you beat down Krysten and Zooey, among others, over the years. That’s important when they are inevitably going to raise some hell in your stable.”
Amy grinned back, “Of course, people tend to respect those best who lead by example, right?”
Elisha stepped forward with a smile, “I’m sure we can both do that soon enough, though we’ll let others have the spotlight for now…”
Speaking of spotlight, up stepped two of the competitors who were rumored to compete in the Stable War in the form of Brie Larson and Madelaine Petsch.
Madelaine smiled as she stepped forward, both of them shaking hands firmly as she said, “Of course, it’s such a honor to meet you, Brie. I’ve been a fan of your career, both in and out of the ring.”
Brie laughed, “That’s so refreshing to hear. There has been such snark between our stables, but I’ve been a big fan of your career like Riverdale and I think you’ve shown a lot of promise in the ring so far. Even if you’ve only won one match.”
Madelaine gripped Brie’s hand more tightly, flexing her bicep as she gives a cool smirk back in response, “Well, after our Stable War, no matter who I’m facing, it’s going to be two, understand?”
Brie grinned back, eyes flickering with confidence, “Not if you’re facing me, Maddy.” as she flexed her bicep in response, gripping the redhead’s hand even more tightly as the two of them stepped in towards one another.
That is, before, Millie Bobby Brown and Chrissy Costanza stepped forward. Chrissy was, an unknown quantity, heavily rumored to join the stable but nothing official as of yet. Millie was, of course, a newer addition to the Lookout! Boxing but certainly an invaluable one as she had been undefeated so far and was the current flyweight title holder. Nothing, of course, lasts forever but Millie was enjoying the ride for as long as it lasted and Chrissy was just enjoying being part of the atmosphere here tonight.
“Great to meet you Millie..” Chrissy said with a genuine smile, “I won’t pretend that I haven’t been impressed by your run so far in the FCBA, but just really enjoyed you on so many of your projects. I don’t know which one of yours is my favorite, but I might go with Enola Holmes.”
Millie grinned, blushing a bit as she responded, “Thank you so much and know that if that’s your fav, then I’ve been using my detective skills to follow your musical career. All of your albums are fantastic, although Fever might be my favorite of them all. Hopefully I see you in the FCBA in the future too!”
Instead of handshakes, the two of them exchanged high fives - a rare sign of camaraderie and positivity that made some observers think that maybe this night could go off successfully after all.
For a time, it appeared it just might as the official matches were announced, with the assembled crowd growing louder for each announced match, as the official line-up would feature such thrilling fights between:
Halston Sage vs. Demi Lovato
Madelaine Petsch vs. Brie Larson
Natasha Calis vs. Emily VanCamp
Saraya vs. Kylie Jenner
Elyse Levesque vs. Kate Upton
Once the official line-up was announced, the contract was signed with only a modicum of drama. There was certainly some jostling as both Michelle and Zooey raced to be the first to sign the contract, but both of them were pulled back to allow Amy and Elisha to start the proceedings. Michelle and Zooey were second, followed by a far more respectful Mille and Chrissy. To finalize the signings, it would be Madelaine and Brie, who engaged in a brief, but intense staredown before they finished signing the official contract, as Amy remarked to Elisha that these two were actually the first match selected for the Stable War, although clearly not the last. From there, it appeared that the two stables would go their separate ways and end this Stable War signing peacefully.
But, then somebody suggested a quick photo to end things on a high note and commemorate the occasion. Nobody is sure exactly who had made such a suggestion, but most of those present were certain it was Zooey. Regardless, everybody managed to get together in front of the table and the signed contract for a picture. The photographer asked whether they would do some serious shots and silly shots for contrast, but was quickly shot down by all parties involved. Just one or two quick photos would be all that was needed.
Which was, for the best, as one or two photos was all that they would get. Third time wouldn’t be a charm as once again, it’s not clear exactly what happened, as the inciting moment occurred in between photos. But, somehow, Michelle or Zooey tripped, with Zooey reaching out to yank on Michelle’s hair to pull her down to the canvas with her. The two of them quickly devolved into slapping and squealing, as initially Millie and Chrissy attempted to pull the two of them apart. Unfortunately, neither of them appeared to be successful and ended up shoving at one another angrily.
That left Amy and Elisha to try to settle things down, but as Amy reached down to try to yank Zooey off of Michelle, her elbow was flung backwards to slam into Elisha’s chest. Cuthbert shouted in surprise, pulling Amy into a headlock as the two of them staggered into a corner. Amy and Elisha both battled among the turnbuckle, slamming fists into opposing abs as things were falling apart quickly. Madelaine and Brie jumped into the fray, but as they did, Chrissy was shoved backwards by Millie right into Madelaine. The proud redhead fell backwards, crashing into the Marvel star as the two of them fell into the ropes and tumbled between them to the outside with a loud CRASH!
It was Mille and Chrissy who managed to calm their tempers first, both of them making it to their respective feet as the two of them stared each other down. While they might not be finished with each other, they recognized now was not the time. Looking between Zooey and Michelle on the canvas, then Amy and Elisha stuffed into a nearby turnbuckle, the two of them wisely went with Amy and Elisha as perhaps the easier to separate.
It was the right decision, in the end, as they were able to pull the two of them apart, although with no small amount of difficulty. Amy and Elisha were forced away from their conflict, though each of them gave a hard parting SLAP against one another as they glared at one another. Hearing the screams and curses from their nearby spokespeople, however, snapped them back to reality as it took all four of them to pull the two writhing wildcats apart. Howling, kicking and throwing wild punches at one another, thankfully the two of them didn’t connect *too* often as they were led to opposite sides of the ring. Once the two of them were contained - to a point at least - then they were free to focus their efforts on Brie and Madelaine.
The two of them were wrestling hard on the outside, locked into a bearhug battle, as the two of them wouldn’t be pulled apart. Taut bodies glued together and biceps flexing, the two of them looked like they wanted nothing more than to squeeze the breath out of one another. The two of them appeared well on their way to doing it before their respective stablemates intervened, just wedging in between them and tugging them apart as both Larson and Petsch were drawn away from one another. The two of them stood there, just inches apart, almost nose to nose as their chests heaved in and out angrily, as a formerly friendly rivalry appeared to grow more intense as the two of them put their fitness to the test against one another.
Now both Stables had drawn battle lines facing each other. It didn’t take long for Amy Acker to express or anger, grabbing Elisha Cuthbert by her top yanking her forward so that they were intimately close. Both sides expressed a moment of shock and were about to brawl again when Amy whispered loud enough into Cuthbert’s ear: “This isn’t over b*tch.” She threw her back, not with harsh force but notable which almost led to a brawl again but the stalemate turned into each Stable sending killing looks at each other.
