Here in the FCBA, we are always looking for new ideas. So, recently the brilliant caspian sent me a list of creative match types to try out in the FCBA. All of these are interesting and we'd love to hear from you on which matches you think could be fun additions to the FCBA. If Tractorpull didn't have a hard enough time figuring out what matches qualify for the Hall of Fame before, right? Some of these honestly won't be too different as they are different venues or settings, but some of them are definitely thinking way outside of the box, which we love. Or inside of the box, if you're thinking about Phonebooth Boxing. But, if you have any other ideas on fun match types that would be interesting to see in the league, please don't hesitate to say anything. These are fun ways to see rivalries flourish, both old and new.
For what it's worth, whatever ends up happening, we can put up a section in the Wiki to highlight new match opportunities so that people know what's out there. Also, for what it's worth, I'll be happy to provide results for any of these. Some of them would definitely be challenging to provide results for, but that's part of the adventure and I'm absolutely willing to provide them. Plus, I think that most, if not all of these, can appear on a fighter's official record. If you have any questions on any of these, feel free to respond and either myself or Caspian will try to clarify when possible.
Win by KO or Submission ONLY - means no TKO or referee interference. The fight continues until one girl gets knocked out or submits to punches. Phonebooth Boxing - Essentially, you stuff two rivals into an enclosed space and watch them destroy each other. A little silly, but incredibly brutal. Sauna Boxing - Just like it sounds, but both girls' stamina would need to be great in order to survive the heat I'm sure. We could also position this as the alternative to the Queen of the Ice Hotel... How does "Queen of the Hot House" sound? (You can see an example of this here: Kate Upton versus Hannah Ferguson (Welterweight Title - Sauna Bout) Queen's Match - inspired by the Rumble Roses video game. A forfeit is mandatory and decided beforehand. It can be anything from a smother to a Walk-of-shame. If possible, we could experiment with this format by getting the fans involved as well. We could announce a Queen's Match beforehand and create a poll to see what the forfeit the loser will have to suffer. Special Guest Referee - This can be a fun way to add a little spice to a bout. Of course, the outcome could be influenced a little bit based on the relationship between the ref and both fighters, so another level of intrigue potentially. Chess Boxing - This could be fun to write, especially the chess portions. Of course, we can also explore other options besides chess, like face-slaps or wrestling. (As one example, ere is an example of how something slapping could work - from a story involving the Slapping Table Vanessa Hudgens vs Carlson Young ) Cage Boxing - usual rules, just within a steel cage. Lots of head-banging and scorch marks. Ultimate Boxing - no rounds, no time limit. Both girls go at it until one gets the KO/TKO. Strip Boxing - after a knockdown, one girl is forced to remove a piece of clothing. No nudity, of course. Good for Halloween fights. No DQ Boxing - a little extreme. expect plenty of headbutts and below-the-belt attacks. Gauntlet / Tournament Boxing - one girl may have to fight multiple fights in one night. surely grueling. League Knockout Boxing - a variation of the stable war. Team A vs Team B, but they eliminate each member one at a time. Last member of the stable wins. La Guerre de Amour Boxing - Normal rules, but girls actively attempt a tummy smother with each knockdown. (Here is an example of the first known bout of this type in the FCBA - Lily Collins vs Vanessa Hudgens (La Guerre de Amour Boxing) Lumberjack Boxing - normal rules, but other girls from respective stables are standing by the apron, trying to actively interfere with the fight / tilt the odds
We'll look forward to hearing any thoughts, ideas or suggestions on new match ideas. We can confidently say that we'll be trying some of these in the future and hope that you do too! Stay safe and thanks to everybody for all of their help!

I'm sure the VIX's will make good use of those gimmick fights. They will mess each other up. The Phone booth one sounds perfect for London based event. The rest are very handy depending of the pairing or feud. Love them all, lol.

There was a great Britney/Jessica Simpson sauna match that Sim wrote. Lots of promising stuff here for good rivalry fights.

Phone Booth boxing sounds like something two Brits should take part in - maybe not Dr. Who related but we have some options available. The Gauntlet is another simguy-era idea that could be brought back. Charlize Theron and Jenny McCarthy did that in their prime before

It was a LOT of fun to do. 😁 I believe the first "gauntlet" fight was Kim's idea, the brilliant genius behind 'Kim's KruZherZ' (and Kim & Ginny). If it wasn't her, whoever did come up with the idea, deserves a lot of credit. It was a great idea and some of the "GOAT-wannabes" should do it. I'm thinking Upton-Righetti would be fun to watch.

Kim and Kim's KruZherZ are sorely missed - pleased we still have Miss Ginny at least as a sniper to antagonize Jenny Mac! Whoever came up with it (and it likely was Kim) it was brilliant and I shamelessly adopted it for the Greatest Fighting Playmate of All Time - plagery is the sincerest form of flattery!

Since Lookout raised the question of which of the bouts would be Hall Of Fame eligible. The following will be eligible
Sauna, but only if it is in a ring with the referee present Special Guest Referee. There have already been many guest referee fights. Theron has had many, some with her worst enemy Cat Bell being the referee Cage Boxing Gauntlet/Tournament These type have already been done with Theron being involved is most
The. rest do not follow regular boxing rules on interfere with the flow of the match Like tummy smother or removing a piece of clothing

How about TAG TEAM fights? (2v2) yes, they will probably be longer to write, but the idea sounds epic to me. (and if you're really adventurous you can make 3v3 or 4v4 fights. ) To make it even MORE interesting, Tag Team fights could also be made up of mixed-weight teams, ie Fly + Bantam vs. Fly + Bantam. Rules: * Win/eliminate by KO/Submission only * Elimination on KO/Submission until one team is completely eliminated. * No round limit. (or first KO wins, which will be shorter but less interesting imo. Elimination can lead to more exciting outcomes, like 2-0 wins, or one remainig girl managing a comeback and beating both remaining opponents etc.) * Tags can be made in the following situations: 1. After a knockdown (by the knocked down fighter to save herself if she can reach her team mate. If the knocked down fighter chooses to get fully back to her feet she cannot tag out until the round is over) *optional: For the sake of not having these fights last for 20 rounds, each girl could be allowed only one "save" tag per match. If a girl has used her "save" tag and is knocked down again she cannot save herself again by tagging and will have to stand up and survive until the end of the round or be eliminated) 2. Between rounds (I feel like tagging at any time would be too chaotic and ruin round momentum as girls could easily tag out in boxing compared to wrestling, because they remain standing and moving for most of the fight) --- That's all I have in mind for now. If you have more ideas for this, let me know

Frankly, I think tag team is just too chaotic. It'll probably be too hard to generate clear results for IF I were doing the results here's what I would do: Writer: don't write anything except the prefight until you know the basic set-up (below) and the final outcome (unless you want to write a few paragraphs of head-to-head action you can insert into the story at any point). Decision-maker: FIRST OPTION1) flip a coin to choose who goes first for each team or -much better - have the managers decide who is #1 for their team when they accept the fight) 2) roll dice/however to decide which team wins the first pair to tag in her partner 3a) roll dice/decide who wins that match-up continue as long as you want/can stand it until you have a winner of 2 of the 3 falls OR 3b) just do a one-fall tag match with the action going back/forth several times. SECOND OPTION1) weight the two teams and then decide a winner (however you wish from a simple coin flip to involved dice rolls for head-to-head outcomes as above. Writer (again): I've written several tag-team wrestling fights and it can be a headache if you get into the weeds with details. SIMGUY was the master at describing an entire round in a few sentences and the same can work for wrestling giving the hilites of each pair in action before the tag. The entire match could be done in about the same length as a 15-20 round boxing match and take up about the same board space. WHATEVER: I encourage anyone who wants to read or write a tag team (or other 'gimmick' match) to TRY IT ONCE OR TWICE. If you enjoy it, do another. If not, you can at least be satisfied you tried it and didn't like it. (a great response to anyone who wants to read something off-beat is; "Why don't you write it yourself?" Then feel free to post advice to others

I've written a TON of these styles of fights in other leagues or settings outside of boxing (primarily pro wrestling to no surprise), and they are a BLAST! Here are some I would be particularly interested in:
Queens Matches - Love the whole idea of Queen's Matches, especially with fan voting to determine the humiliation. Though I would prefer the typical KO/TKO ending to a "forfeit" which I would assume is akin to a submission?
Gauntlet - I'm absolutely doing something like this soon, basically a "fight until you fall" type event. Excellent idea.
League Knockout - I wonder how this would work with weight classes. If one team has a Welter and the other is all Fly/Bantam, is it just a sweep for the Welter? Lol
Lumberjack - LOVE this idea too, one of my favorite types of bout to have written in the past. It would work especially well in a Stable War setting in my opinion.
Another style I would throw out there would be inspired by a Royal Rumble type event. You take say 8 fighters, random entry, fight until you lose. I'd imagine you keep it one-on-one instead of multiple in the ring at the same time. Very similar to a Gauntlet or League Knockout, but it doesn't have to be two teams. Just 8 solo fighters with a randomized entry. This would be a fun tournament idea to decide a belt possibly? Take the top 8 Fly fighters, throw them in a Royal Rumble where the last one standing gets crowned. Tough luck for the first two lol.

If one team has a Welter and the other is all Fly/Bantam, is it just a sweep for the Welter? Lol I think the only (best?) way to handle a size mismatch would be by giving the advantaged fighter a Handicap. (Something like fighting with one hand tied behind them; in leg irons that limited their leg movement; restricting the areas of the body they can strike; limiting blows to the smaller/older woman's head; etc.) Perhaps let two fly's double team a single welter/middle/heavy? A wikipedia search of Roman Colosseum fight cards might give us some more 'gimmick' ideas....(putting Lawley in vs. "Cocaine Bear" or Upton vs. 'Elsie the cow')

I too am in favor of a number of these plus I want to see Tag Team. I already have an idea for Natasha Calis and Tiera Skovbye but they'd need a team brave enough to face them. However, I can see the complexities of trying to get results for a Tag Team at the same time but it would be very interesting.

All these alternative bouts may be interesting. but I fear we are straying to far from the original intent of the site I certainly wasn't here at the beginning, but I've always worked hard to maintain what I think is the spirit and intent here in the FCBA. No matter what these alternative match types are, I honestly think that they will always have at the heart - Female Celebrity Boxing - at the core. I want to certainly stay true to the spirit of spectacular stories, intense action and amazing rivalries featuring some of the toughest women on the planet. The majority of the bouts in the FCBA will continue to be traditional matches, but every once in a while, you might see some of these other matches just to keep things fresh around here. Those are going to be a challenge to write and to provide results for, so don't expect to see a million of them but if people want to write some of these, I'm cool with it. I'll do my part to keep sticking with what makes this place special and I know that's what you want too. Always feel free to speak up and the league is a better place with this kind of discussion and creativity. If we ever start to stray - at all - we'll get things nudged right back on track with your help and many others! It takes all of us to make this place work!!!
