Before: Battle of the HISC Hall of Famers has long-time FCBA fans especially excited. It won’t be their first match. In fact it will be the 10th and Natalie is leader at 5 wins to Mish’s 4.
“I am only one win behind Natalie now. This is my chance to tie things up and then we’ll see where we go from there,” declares Michelle in the prefight. “I would love to repeat that KO I got on her in 2008.”
“That may be your dream Michelle, but it’s only a dream.” purrs Natalie, “The reality is that beat you in our last fight back in 2020. I got that TKO on you then and I’ll punch you into another this time.”
“And you call me a dreamer,” Michelle purred right back. “but your dream will become a nightmare when I am through with you!”
Natalie and Michelle are now glaring at one another. PR flacks from HISC move in quickly to move them off the stage (in separate directions).
The seething rivalry with a thin veil of politeness is just the sort of thing to stir up the social media. Thus, by Fight Night, the bout had clearly been framed as a “grudge match” and the crowd was eager to see how this 10th encounter would turn out. Would Natalie build on her margin of superiority or would Michelle whittle it down? Opinions were many and the crowd was roaring as the two stood facing each in the ring. Natalie in a shiny black one piece with silver gloves and boots (black laces). Hair in battle braid. Michelle in white lace bra and panties with black gloves and boots (White laces). Blonde hair loose, but wetted down.
The two glower coldly at each other as the referee drones through the instructions. Then they “tap” gloves HARD before going off to their corners, both smirking at the gasps this has drawn. Long seconds pass then DING! The bell sounds…
R1: Natalie and Michelle out to the center of the ring, they circle and launch some preliminary probing punches. Then Michelle lunges forward with her right hand cocked, but Natalie ducks the incoming right uploads her own right hand against Mish’s jaw. Mish staggered by the blow. Natalie smoothly clips the blonde to the chin and then adds a couple more jaw smackers Michelle can get her gloves up to defend her head. Natty shifts her focus to those creamy abs and hooks them hard. Michelle fires a barrage of jabs to Natalie’s head and the brunette circles away. The two come back at each other, but Natalie strikes first with more chin clippers and solid smacks to the jaw, Michelle hunched up and defensive as he round ends. Judges give it wide to Natalie Portman,.
R2: Out they come again for the new round and Michelle moving faster this time. She is able to score well against Natalie’s jaw and make chin bounce with follow-up uppercuts. Natalie in a quick Michelle gives chase. Now Natalie is able to punch effectively., She scores first against Mish’s rib cage. Then strong punches to Mish’s chin send one tremor after another through Mish’s body. Natalie moves forward but then takes a Michelle Williams hook deep to the gut doubling her up with a gasp, then Michelle lifts punches up into Natalie’s bent forward upper body. Natalie banged hard and scoots away. Time runs out and the round is ruled a narrow win for Michelle Williams.
R3: Natalie Portman advances rapidly as the new round begins. She opens up with a series of quick jabs to the head. Michelle banged up but she jabs right back into Natty’s face. Natalie comes forward again and there is a heavy exchange of shots to the head. Then Mishy strikes at Natty to the midsection with hooks that send Natalie falling back all bent over with hurt. Natalie rallies and there is another exchange of head shots and it is Natalie Portman falls back with a trickle of blood from one nostril. Natalie still fighting back and the action is close and intense to the bell. The hard-fought round won by Michelle who is able to edge out Natalie on the judges’ cards.
R4: Natalie again out quickly as the bell sounds. This time she opens with a hard hooking attack on Michelle’s ribs and abs. One smashing hook after the other has Mish gasping for air and falling back behind some covering jabs. Natalie vengefully now attacks with rights and left to the jaw and fires in straight shots to bust up the blonde’s face. Mish burying her aching face in her gloves as Natalie returns those rib smashing hooks as Mish gasps with blow landed in her belly area. Bell sounds to end a solid comeback back round for Natalie Portman who winds this one wide.
R5: Now it is Michelle Williams moving fast from her corner to start a new round. Mish feints an attack to the body, but unleashes big rights and lefts to Natalie’s head. Natalie hit by the first wave of these punches, but ducks way from the follow up shots. Then Natalie goes to her favored hooks to the midsection. Mishy strikes back at Natalie to the body and the two are battling it out furiously as the crowd roars. It is punch for matching punch until Natalie begins to wilt late in the round. Mishy presses forward. Natalie still fighting but in retreat. Result is another close round and this one goes to Michelle Williams.
R6: Michelle coming right for Natalie at the center of the ring as the ne round begins. Mish going hard once again with her body shots. Natalie responds with body shots of her own. Looks like a repeat of the previous round as the two start to get at toe-to-toe at point blank range, Then Natalie suddenly moves to one side, she gets Mish off balance and open. BOOM! A right to the jaw AND DOWN GOES MISHY! Michelle collapses onto her side and lays there stunned as a smirking Natalie heads for the neutral corner, Referee moves in and starts the count. Michelle shakes it off, gets to all fours and then forces herself up to break the count at “NINE!” The action resumes shortly but Michelle now just buries her face in her gloves and maintains this turtle defense to the bell. Knockdown assures Natalie Portman as easy win of the round, but Michelle gives her a defiant look before going to her corner.
R7: Natalie wastes no time in trying to finish Michelle off this round. She is swift from her corner and even swifter striking at Michelle to the chin. Michelle hit hard in the chin, stumbles back as Natty seeks to close out with a fresh barrage to Mishy’s now heavily bruised abs. Mish shuddering under this torrent of leather, gets driven into the ropes where she can only hang there was Natalie flays away. Michelle’s body worked over in waves, but the stubborn blonde just won’t go down. Natalie has to be pushed away from her after the bell and Mishy actually smiles crookedly at the clearly frustrated Natalie. However round was a shutout win for Natalie and she stomps to her corner not pleased that the fight is not over.,
R8: Natalie again out quickly, but as she closes in on Michelle, Mishy suddenly strikes first! Right/left combo to the chin sends Natalie lurching back in surprise. Mish moves with Natalie firing more shots at Natalie head, Natalie seems to regain her composure and gets a series of good counters against Michelle’s jaw. Mishy drops back, but as Natalie comes after her, Mish strikes to Natalie’s belly with a booming right/left hook combo. Natalie falls back, sets up and duels Michelle with head shots only to get doubled up by a hook to belly as the round ends. It’s been a punch-heavy round, but Michelle Williams makes a comeback with a narrow win.
R9: Both corners have to work hard on their fighters. It has been a long, draining contest, but Natalie and Michelle are revived on their stools and sent forth to battle at the bell. Two circle each other warily in the center of the ring, then darting with quick, probing flurries of punches. Then Natalie moves to strike at Michelle to the head. Mish ducks so that it a glancing blow and then she answers with overhand right to the jaw. Natalie hit square by this blow and she stumbles away. Michelle seizes her chance, moves with the wounded Natty and pours on the follow up punches. Natalie stumbling, trying to get away, bangs into the ropes and then turns to try to fight her way clear. Now both are getting hit to the jaw, chin and side of the head. Natalie is sliding along the strands, trying to find a way out, but she is blocked by the tenacious Mishy. Then three uppercuts in succession smite Natalie Portman to the chin and throw her back against the ropes. Natty’s knees buckle and Michelle steps to open side. DOWN CRASHES NATALIE PORTMAN! Natalie sprawled on her face as Mish trots to the neutral corner. Referee is counting and Natalie does begin to stir. She is on her hands and knees, trying to make her legs boost upwards, but they will not obey.
“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...OUT!” calls out the referee/
THE WINNER: MCHELLE WILLIAMS DEFEATS NATALIE PORTMAN KO9!
After: Happy time in the ring for Mish Williams. She runs around the ring like a rookie who just won her first fight waving her arms, but then pausing to pose for the cameras. She can’t wait to hoist a groggy Natalie Portman to her feet and drag her around the ring for a very satisfying Walk of Shame.
“OK, maybe I got a little carried away, but I beat that insufferable punk Portman! I now I’ve got things all tied up at 5-5 and I meant to enjoy it!” Michelle says later with a big grin on her face.
“Mish is just a nasty piece of work,” a bitter Natalie Portman says when questioned by the press. “You would think she has just won a GOAT title or something, not another lucky win over me! OK so now we’re tied. Big deal. No, I don’t know if and when there will be another fight. Why should I give her the satisfaction of agreeing to it now? Let her wait. I know it will eat at her and that’s fine with me.”
“I guess she’s afraid of me now,” Michelle says in response. “That is fine with me, but I know HISC will respond to pressure from the fans. Sooner or later she’ll have to fight me and that will see me winning again. Time is on my side.”
Natalie Portman may feel Michelle Williams was lucky, but a closer look at the fight shows Mish won because she survived a lot of punishment especially in the 6th and 7th then came back to crush Natalie in the 9th. No doubt a very satisfying win for Mish Williams and a bitter disappointment for Natalie. Perhaps the biggest winner tonight were the fans who got to see two FCBA veterans battle it out with skill, energy and toughness. The issue seemed in doubt until Michelle was able to end it in the 9th. If and when there is tie-breaking 11th fight is not known now, but what is known is that FCBA fans got memorable bout in this 10th battle between two champions.
