TESS VALMORE
Once again, I present this months edition of my much maligned predictions. As usual, it is littered with unflattering comments, unjustified criticism and cheap shots. In October, I went 30-11 running my total to 3502-996 or 77.9% correct
DALE/LEOTTA. Queen of the Ice Hotel Final Four, Dale made her debut in July and has had five fights winning four. Leotta has far more experience with a
19-9 career record. More importantly Leotta has a four inch height advantage. That’s too much for Dale. Leotta will move to the title bout
DIDONATO/KOSTEK. DiDonato has had a busy year with a 14-7 record. She, has unfortunately, not done well in title fights losing not one, but two lightweight title fights plus being eliminated In the final four of the Queen of the Beach tournament. Now she has to go against Kostek who Boxing World has ranked at nine in the welters. She was in Tractorpull’s top ten, but was dropped in the last ranking due to lack of activity. DiDonato has a lot more experience and is two inches taller. DiDonato reaches the title fight.
LEOTTA/DIDONATO. Leotta has had 28 career fights. DiDonato has had 78. She has held the Unified Lightweight title once. The two have fought once before with DiDonato winning by a KO5. DiDonato will finally win a title this year.
J.KELLY/THERON. I am not allowed to predict a Theron fight
HERRINGTON/BOCCIA. This will be Herrington’s first fight of the year after a 4-6 2021. She has an 8-6 career record. Boccia has a career record of 18-6 and has won seven of her last ten and has wins over Upton, Gillan and Tahnee Atkinson. Herrington has a 2 /12 inch height advantage and beat Boccia last year by a KO6. I tend to go with fighters with a height advantage, but this time I am going to Boccia to even things up with Herrington
LOWNDES/C.MENDES. Lowndes is a 34 year old veteran of 91 fights winning 57. She had held the flyweight title once and has won seven of her last ten against so-so competition although she did fight Vanessa Hudgens and Olivia Holt. Mendes is 28 and has a 27-15 record. She has won eight of her last ten. Lowndes is two inches taller and has the extra incentive of possibly joining the Hall of Fame, but that is not a sure thing so she needs to win. She has beaten Mendes once before. She will do it again
C.COLE/ORTEGA. Ortega is a twenty year old newbie. She made her debut in the September PPV and now has a 2-0 record. Cole is nineteen years older than Ortega and has a 48-16 FCBA record. She has won eight of her last ten and has held the BBU flyweight title. She does have a two inch height advantage. I would normally go with youth, but Cole’s recent record, her experience and height advantage make my believe she will beat Ortega
MORETZ/DANIELLE CAMPBELL Chloe has a 24-20 career record, but has won seven of her last ten. Campbell has a 29-22 career record, but has lost seven of her last ten. Age and height are not factors. Moretz’s record is going one way while Campbell’s is going the other. Moretz will win
S.GOMEZ/ROBBIE. The thirty year old Gomez has been in the FCBA for twelve years with a 45-25 record. She has won seven of her last ten with wins over Bella Thorne and Elizabeth Olsen. Robbie is one of my favorite people, but she has a 5-5 in her last ten including losing a title fight in the September PPV and hasn’t fought the recent competition that Selena has. I have to go with Gomez.
ALDRIDGE/VACULOV. Aldridge is a thirty seven year old lightweight with a 22-14 record. She has lost six of her last ten, but the losses were to top lightweights. Vaculov is thirty four years old and making her FCBA debut, I never bet on a fighter in her debut. Aldridge wins.
CORRIGAN/XI. Corrigan has been a little disappointing. I put her on my top ten lightweights watch list and she promptly loses three straight although two of those losses were to top lightweights XI has an 8-6 FCBA record, but simply hasn’t fought the type competition that Corrigan has fought. Corrigan will win. If she doesn’t I’m getting a voodoo doll and some long pins
STRIJD/L.RAE Strijd has won eight of her last ten, but her competition leaves something to be desired if you want to be a top rated fighter. Her losses were to Rhoda and Lima the best fighters she fought. Rae has a 3-5 record that isn’t any more impressive than Strijd. Strijd wins.
ZIEGLER/SINK Ziegler made her debut in January and has had a successful campaign being 9-2 going into this bout. Her losses were to Lavigne and Millie Bobby Brown. Sink made her debut in the April PPV and has a 2-2 record also losing to Millie Bobby Brown and Cicchino. Ziegler has an almost three inch height advantage. That will be the difference. Ziegler wins
BELLA THORNE/TREVEJO Thorne is ranked as the number one bantam contender by Boxing World. She has gone 10-1 this year with the lone loss being to Demi Rose, a loss which she later revenged. The champ, Reinhart is making her sixth defense on this card. So far she has avoided Thorne. Probably wise. Trevejo has a 6-4 career record and has lost her last three to Rose, Larson and Olsen. She will lose to Thorne
L. COLLINS/De ARMAS Collins is ranked as the number three contender in the flyweights. She ranked that high since she has won eighteen straight. That’s right. Her record this year is 18-0. In looking at the Boxing World’s rankings it appears that she has avoided most of the top fifteen or twenty flyweights. De Armas had a fine 2020 going 7-0. Since then she has lost five of eight, but fighting better competition. The two have fought twice with De Armas winning last year and Collins winning this year. I’m going to take a chance on De Armas ending Collin’s streak
M.FOX/ALBA. Fox is in the Hall Of Fame with a 75-34-1 record. Fox is 8-2 for her last ten with one of those losses being to Dove Cameron in a title bout. Alba has held two sectional titles and two Unified Bantam titles. Her last title was in 2009. Alba is now forty-one. She hasn’t fought since April of last year and has lost her last three. Her last win was in September 2019. The two fought four years ago with Fox winning. Fox will repeat her win.
TIGER FREE/EISLEY. Tiger Free has a career record of 13-4 and has won seven of her last ten and has a win over Cicchino. Eisley has had two career fights, both in 2019 and lost both. She will lose her third bout also, this time to Tiger Free.
H.FERGUSON/LYNN Ferguson is a three time Unified Welter champ. Tractorpull has her ranked at five in the welters while Boxing Word has here down at eleven. She has a 10-5 this year fighting the top fighters. Lynn has a great 8-2 first year in 2021. Everything went North in 2022 (Remember going South is good, North not so much) She has lost eight of nine this year with her win being over an aged Tyra Banks. Lynn has not faced Ferguson before. It will not be a pleasant experience. Ferguson in five.
VISMARA/E.GILLIES Vismara made her debut in August and already has had six fights winning five. Gillies has a 8-14 record and she has lost five of six this year,
Her win was over Alexis Ren and two of her losses were to Ren. She has fought top competition. Gillies has a three inch height advantage. Gillies will win
KHALIFA/McCURDY. JMD
CICCHINO/LAVIGNE. Cicchino has been a busy lady this year. This will be her twenty second bout. She is 14-7 for the year. Lavigne has also been busy with a 12-5 year. Boxing World has Cicchino at the number eleven flyweight contender while they have Lavigne at fifteen. The two fought earlier this year with Lavigne winning. Cicchino is eighteen years younger than Lavigne and almost two inches taller. I think Cicchino will even the score.
BRESLIN/H.WILLIAMS. Breslin has a 16-7 career record and has won six of her last ten, all this year. Williams has a career record of 6-13. She has lost eight of her last ten going back to the beginning of 2019. Breslin will continue Williams losing ways
BOCCIA/HERRINGTON. Boccia has a career record of 18-6 and has a 9-4 record for the year. She has lost her last three including a title fight loss to Lawley. This will be Herrington first fight of the year. She has a career record of 8-6 and was 4-6 last year. She beat Boccia last year by a KO6. She is three inches taller than Boccia. I have to go with height and reach. Herrington wins again
SABATINI/STRIJD Strijd’s management must have a great deal of confidence in
Her. She already has a bout on this card against Rae. Sabatini has a 7-6 record for the year fighting a good schedule. Almost all her losses were to top fighters. Sabatini’s fights against the competition will serve her well. I think Sabatini will win. One of Strijd’s fights probably won’t go so the one posted better be the one I got right.
KATIC/C.HENDRICKS. Katic has a career record of 14-3 against average competItion. Katic is 44 years of age. Hendricks is 47. She has a 16-12 career record, but has lost her last five. Her last win was in April, 2018. Katic has a almost two inch height advantage. Katic will win
JUSTICE/DEBLING Justice fights in both the BBU and the FCBA. She has a combined record of 35-25 with the majority of her fights being in the FCBA. She
Has lost eight of her last ten FCBA fights. Dealing is a BBU fighter who has had one FCBA fight. She has a 4-10 BBU record but has won her only FCBA fight beating Ferrara who has a 1-4 record. Justice will win.
B.MADISON/CULPO. Madison has been in the FCBA for five years, but has only had eleven fights of which she has lost eight. Culpo made her debut last year, She has a 5-4 career record, but has lost three of four this year with her last two losses being to Dobrev and Minka Kelly. Culpo will pick up her second win of the year.
D.R.RUSSELL/J.JOHNSON. Russell has a 8-10 career record. She won all three of her fights last year. but this year she has lost all three of her fights. Two of those losses were to Millie Bobby Brown and Sadie Sink. This is Johnson’s FCBA debut. I have a rule. Never bet on a fighter in her first fight against an experienced fighter. Russell wins.
DADDARIO/BOWDEN. Daddario has won six of her last ten with wins over Gerber, McMann and Fisher. Bowden has a career record of 2-9 and broke a six fight losing streak by beating Patridge in the September PPV. That will be the highlight of her year as Daddario will flatten her in six
M.B.BROWN/PORTMAN. The eighteen year old Brown is the new flyweight sensation having won all ten of her bouts this year. Her big win was in the October PPV, when she beat Cicchino. Portman is an eleven time Unified Flyweight Champion and in the Hall Of Fame, but she is now 41, twenty three yours older than Brown. I would love to see Portman win, but I am going to have to go with youth. Brown will win
V.HUDGENS/HALE. Hudgens has won seven of her last ten. Her losses were to Michelle Williams, Dove Cameron in a title fight and Cicchino. Hale has lost six of her last ten, but she did beat Portman. The two have fought three times with Hudgens winning the first one and Hale the last two. I am going to have to go with Hudgens to even the score.
OLSEN/CHALOTRA. For the last three years, Olsen has been one of the most successful fighters in the FCBA. She is 13-3 for the year and held the Unified Bantam title with four successful defenses. Chalotra has a 9-3 career record and is 4-0 for the year with a win over Scodelario. Chalotra has fought Olsen once before. It was in her second fight. She lost. This will be her thirteenth fight, She will lose again
WEAVING/TAYLOR-JOY. Weaving has a combined record of 15-11 with her FCBA record being 11-10. She is 5-5 in her last ten. She did beat Demi Rose. She lost to three iBB fighters. Taylor-Joy has a 17-4 record and has won seven of her last ten. Her three losses were to Olsen, Bella Thorne and Chopra. She is also almost three inches taller than Weaving. Taylor-Joy in six
T.ATKINSON/MCKINNEY. Atkinson has a career record of 34-19. She has won six of her last ten fighting top competition, Her losses were to Righetti, Lawley, Upton and Boccia. McKinney spent the year fighting in two tournaments, the Diamond and Queen of Beach. She is 8-4 for the year. He losses were to Lawley. Decker. Upton and Righetti. The two have never fought. I have to take a chance on Atkinson.
LIST/RICKARDS. List has a 12-9 career record, but since joining Front Street last year, she has won nine of ten and is 5-1 for this year. Rickards has a career record of 13-12 but has lost eight of her last ten. List will win
SWIFT/FRADEGRADA For the Mistress of the Body Saddle ll. Let’s make this short. Swift won the first bout. She will win this one also and retain the Mistress title
CHOPRA/LAMBORGHINI. For the Princess of the Ice Hotel. Chopra won this title in April and this will be her third defense. She is 7-2 this year. One of her losses was to Reinhart in a title fight and the other was to Kosarin in a non-title contest. Lamborghini has won seven of twelve this year. One of her losses was to Chopra in an early Princess of the Ice Hotel tournament bout. Chopra retains the title.
UPTON/MCCARTHY. This is a Queen of the Beach fight. Really? Upton
BASSINGER/ROBERTS. For the Unified Flyweight Title. This will be Bassinger’s first defense. Bassinger’s record is not that good. She has won eight of her last fourteen. She is 3-2 for this year losing to Vanessa Hudgens and Cicchino. She has beaten Michelle Williams twice and Portman since the beginning of last year.
Roberts is 6-4 this year after going 6-2 last year. This year she has beaten Hale. Pugh, Emma Watson and Cicchino. One of her losses was to none other than
Bassinger. I don’t expect Bassinger’s reign to be very long. In fact, I think is will end with this fight. Roberts takes to title
REINHART/M.KELLY. This will be Reinhart’s sixth defense. She has won her last twelve. Kelly has a career record of 71-31 and is in the Hall Of Fame. Minka is a well chosen opponent for Reinhart. She has won six of her last ten, but her opponents that she has beaten are so-so and she is fifteen years older than Reinhart. Minka winning this fight will not shock me, but I will go with Reinhart.
L.JAMES/LIVELY For the Unified Lightweight title. This will be James’ first defense. James has had fifteen FCBA fights and won them all beating some of the best talent in the lightweights such as Kendall Jenner, Swift and Agdal. Lively is a sometime lightweight, sometime welter. Lively is a former lightweight champion. She has won nine of twelve for the year fighting basically good competition and she does have a win over Upton showing that she is a dangerous fighter. I have a feeling that this fight is going to be a big upset. Lively will take the title, but don’t dare bet on this prediction
??/?? For the erroneously named title (Jaguar). ?? will win. At least, I will get this one right.
LAWLEY.RIGHETTI. For the Unified Welterweight title. You know the rule. I never, ever bet against Righetti. I have said I would bet on Righetti if she was facing the 101st Airborne. Well she is not facing the 101st but close. Righetti will be the new welter champ.
Once again, I present this months edition of my much maligned predictions. As usual, it is littered with unflattering comments, unjustified criticism and cheap shots. In October, I went 30-11 running my total to 3502-996 or 77.9% correct
