Our reporter sits in the Great Room at Front Street along with Poindexter Del Crunchy and the Man In The Hat. Baseball is on the television and cold beverages are in their respective hands.
Reporter: "So, Wiz, what did you think about the Ryan/Cornish fight?"
Man In The Hat: "Well. I'm on record as thinking highly of both those fighters and that hasn't changed. There's less depth at welter than in any other division in the FCBA, and, if either of those girls, both of whom are power hitters, both of whom are athletic, both of whom are good technical fighters, get consistent action in the FCBA, they'll be contenders. Count on it.'
Reporter: "On another subject, Mr. V says Lowndes is out of Queendom if Dennings is participating..."
Man In The Hat: "Manager's choice. Dennings IS participating, as are Decker and Ruah. Again, Stephanie asked, and we said 'yes'. Although, we'd love to see Lowndes involved, because, frankly, we like to see her involved in anything."
Reporter: "And, your current policy on JMD..."
Man In The Hat: "Has not changed."
Reporter: "Speaking of Mr. V, he remains convinced that Bennet is going to break the record..."
Man In The Hat: "I'm going to make this clear once again. We don't CARE one iota about records. This stable isn't HERE to break records. We didn't even know what the freaking record WAS until it was pointed out to us during K-Stew's streak. We are here to win TITLES. Chloe Bennet is here to win TITLES. That's what we're trying to do."
Reporter: "And, speaking of titles, Pointy..."
Pointy: "I will have NO COMMENT on the bantamweight title situation. NONE. ZERO."
Reporter: "Understood. Mr. V, by the way, pointed out that Front Street's preference for title fights has changed from avoiding a fighter coming off one loss to avoiding one coming off two losses in a row due to the Helfer fight..."
Man In The Hat: "First off, we haven't changed a thing. We like to defend titles against girls on winning streaks, not against girls coming off a loss. As you know. As has been well documented. The Helfer fight was an outlier and Mr. V and everyone else who was paying attention knows exactly WHY that was."
Pointy: "Because Helfer wasn't the first choice..."
Man In The Hat: "She was not. Biel was the first choice and we thought we had the fight booked. By the time were informed that Jessica wasn't going to be able to ACCEPT the fight, most of the other contenders were already booked. We tried several different fighters, but we couldn't get anything signed at that late a date. So, we turned to Tricia and HMK, a stable with which we have a great relationship, and they were gracious enough to take the fight. And, we're very grateful to them for having done so. They did it as a favor to us, and we appreciate it. That fight, however, is, again, an outlier. It didn't change our policy or our preference. Our preference is a fighter coming off a win. Or several wins. We weren't able to get that done ONCE. It doesn't change a thing. Now, let's watch some ball."
