SG PPV: Vengence in the Tropics

Match 3: Hayley Lee vs Natalie Yeo

Hayley Lee (5'6, 28, 2-5, @huinileee)


Natalie Yeo (5'7, 29, 3-3, @nattylifts)




Pre-match: The rematch came sooner than everyone thought and Hayley is determined to balance out her win-loss ratio! Natalie has her hair tied up in a ponytail. She wears black sports bra and shorts, complete with black gloves. Hayley also has her hair tied up in a ponytail. She wears a baby blue sports bra and white shorts, complete with red gloves.



R1: Hayley is cautious out of the gate, avoiding Natalie’s powerful punches while taking calculated punches that mostly land on Nat’s mittens. As the round progresses, Natalie becomes more active and starts to overwhelm Hayley with few but powerful blows. Hayley holds up well against the punches but is unable to mount an offense against Natalie. The round ends with Natalie taking the lead.



R2: Natalie gets comfortable and leads with her chin in, making a couple of jabs and crosses that almost blows apart Hayley’s guard. It’s almost a walk in the park for Natalie, but Hayley also turns it up a notch, bobbing and weaving to avoid the burn of her opponent’s punch, sneaking shots as she does so. Natalie still manages to land a couple of quick jabs and hooks but her rashness to commit strong punches leaves her open for Hayley to hit her cheeks. Hayley manages to take the round by points but remains fully aware that a power punch from Natalie could potentially knock her out.



R3: Hayley continues to frustrate Natalie, forcing her to swing hard as she slowly becomes comfortable with the evasive style. However, there is still room for Hayley to improve as she gets hit with a couple of punches that (thankfully) land on non-vital areas. Hayley continues to score points on Natalie by peppering her face and body with jabs and hooks, eating some in the process. The round ends with Hayley inching out by a narrow margin.



R4: Frustrated from the previous round, Natalie comes out hot and starts throwing big punches at her opponent, who keeps her distance and makes sure her crosses and straight are out of reach. However, the aggressive Natalie manages to coerce Hayley into the corner and picks her apart at the belly! Hayley must get out before the damage piles up! She stops Natalie’s offense with a clinch and moves the fight back to the center. Upon breaking, Hayley immediately swipes Natalie’s face with a few punches and Natalie instinctively reponses with a powerful straight at Hayley’s solar plexus that makes her gasp for air. Natalie follows up with a few more jabs before the bell grants Hayley some time to recover.



R5: Hayley approaches carefully after getting hit with a few strong blows in the previous round. Determined to knock Hayley out quickly, Natalie commits a strong straight from the start but Hayley ducks under and catches Natalie with a clean uppercut to the chin! Natalie backpedals on her wobbly feet but remains relentless. She takes another shot at Hayley but her opponent manages to move out of the way and catch her with a left hook! Natalie stumbles groggily into the ropes and hides behind her mittens. Hayley capitalizes on the opportunity and lands a barrage of body shots on Natalie! Heaving hard, Natalie shoves Hayley away with a shoulder and follows up with a few swings that forces Hayley to put on her guard. The boxers continue to exchange equally in close range until the round is over. Natalie returns to her corner, looking a little shaken up after the few stiff shots from the start of the round.



R6: Hayley pounds her gloves as she gets up from her corner, ready to take back a win from Natalie. She leads with her chin in and slips in a few combinations. Even though Natalie’s defense game remains strong, cracks in her defense are beginning to show. The first minute is pretty much in Hayley’s favor until Hayley commits a straight that misses and Natalie sends her back into the ropes with a stiff uppercut. Hayley throws her arms over the ropes to keep herself up, but leaves herself from Natalie’s punishment. Natalie begins to pick Hayley apart on her midsection and face, sending sweat spraying in all directions. Hayley’s in serious trouble until she staggers forward and hugs Natalie, locking her arms by her side. Natalie continues to overwhelm Hayley until the bell calls for the end of the round. Hayley looks to be in distraught as she returns to her corner after a bad round.


R7: Both girls come toe-to-toe upon the bell. Natalie puts all she has behind her punches to rough Hayley up, but her opponent guards well against her attack. Once Natalie’s attack slows, Hayley takes her turn but NO! A surprise hook sends Hayley into the canvas! Hayley scrambles to her feet, falling back onto her knees several times before getting back up by the count of 8. Hayley gives the ref a nod and the match continues. Hayley continues to play defense and survives the rest of the round.



R8: Both girls are exhausted by now but dig deep to knock each other out. Natalie applies pressure for the first minute of the match, pinning Hayley onto the ropes several times but Hayley quickly clinches and escapes before taking too much damage. The situation looks dire for Hayley until she manages to counter Natalie with a left hook that sends her stumbling. Hayley presses on the offense, connecting with combinations after combinations until a right cross sends her opponent straight into the canvas! Hayley quickly backpedals into the corner to catch a break as the ref begins to count. The ref counts to 10! It’s over! Hayley Lee defeats Natalie Yeo via KO8!





Post-match: “YES” Hayley screams with her arms raised after defeating a formidable opponent. It was a tough match but she certainly pulled through and got a well-deserved victory. We hope she continues with this momentum!
